Blessed Sunday,

Serving God does not mean that we will not have problems. Everybody that lives on this earth has problems. The difference between being a Christian and a sinner is that we have God guiding us.

God never promised a life without troubles. God promised to be with us through our problems and difficulties. We can trust Him to be with us through all situations.

We serve God because we love Him and want to please Him. The more we grow to love Him the more we want to please Him. The more we seek Him the more we love Him. Our lives will not be perfect, but we will find joy and peace walking with our Heavenly Father.

Happy Saturday,

Children of God

Let us not live like we do not have any hope. We serve a living God, who spoke the universe into existence. Surely are troubles are not beyond His capabilities to fix .

When we surrender ourselves to Christ, we become a member of a family so large that we cannot even imagine the number.

Yet our Heavenly Father does not see us as an ant in an ant colony. He has know us since we took our first breath at our birth. At the moment of our second birth when we received the previous gift of salvation, we have become a child of the most high God.

Do not allow the devil to diminish our worth to God. Let us forever have a thankful heart for the sacrifice that Jesus made to redeem us from our sin, nor take for granted the gift of being able to sit at the Lord's table.

How marvelous is our God, who has created a solar system and yet still cares about our broken heart.

Happy Thursday,

Having A Relationship With God

How much effort are we putting into having a relationship with God? Do we only talk to Him in a bedtime prayer? Do we share our desires and concerns with Him? Do we seek His will for our lives?

Today, let us make a point to spend more time with God, not only praying about our needs but praising God and remembering His Majesty.

Happy Wednesday,

Secure In Jesus

“Promise #47:
I will keep you safe because no one can snatch you out of My hand.

John 10:29 (WEB)
My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all.
No one is able to snatch them out of my Father’s hand.”

Security in Jesus. No person and no spiritual being can snatch us out of the hands of God. Whether we live or die we are secure in God.

Romans 14:8
King James Version
8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.

We need not fear life or death, for we are secure in our Heavenly Father. The storm of life may seem to overtake us, but we only need to call out to God. He may not remove the storm, but He will see us through the storm.

Jesus, Himself warned us about the last days and how hard they would be, but He did not tell us to fear. Instead of giving into fear, let us pray that God will do good work in us and cause us to grow spiritually and bear much fruit for the Kingdom of God.

Happy Tuesday,

Fear In Times of Uncertainty

The truth is that we live in times of certainty. Wars and rumors of war are all around us, just as Jesus said there would be. Just as the birth pains become stronger and the time between the pains becomes shorter, so are the birth pains of the end times.

The time of God’s judgment of the world is at the door. The only thing that is holding back the judgment is the love of God. He is giving sinners time to get right with God, but there will come a time when the trumpet will sound and those who are covered by the precious blood of Jesus will meet Jesus in the clouds.

1 Thessalonians 4:15-18
Living Bible

15 I can tell you this directly from the Lord: that we who are still living when the Lord returns will not rise to meet him ahead of those who are in their graves. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a mighty shout and with the soul-stirring cry of the archangel and the great trumpet-call of God. And the believers who are dead will be the first to rise to meet the Lord. 17 Then we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and remain with him forever. 18 So comfort and encourage each other with this news.

We need not fear the times we are in. God is always with us. He will bring comfort to the grieving. He will sustain the weak. He will cover those with His feathers when we became fearful. Whether we live in this world are taken up to Heaven in death, God is always with us. He will never forsake us or abandoned us. Comfort yourself by reading the promises of God in His Holy Word.
Betty

Romans 10:17
New King James Version
17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Luke 21:28
New King James Version
28 Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”

Luk 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Happy Valentine's Day,

Justified By Faith

“Daily Prayer for February 14
Christoph Friedrich Blumhardt
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. Romans 5:1-5, NIV
Lord our God, keep us in the grace that is ours through Jesus Christ. Uphold others also in this grace. Reveal yourself everywhere to those who trust in you and who await your kingdom. May your blessing be on our household. We thank you for helping us, and with your help we want to be faithful to you. Then when hardships come, we can be certain of your presence. We know and trust you. We know and trust the Savior, and we know and trust the Holy Spirit, in whom we can have community and be strengthened to serve your glory. Amen.”

There is nothing we can do to justify ourselves. Even if we were martyred a hundred times for the cause of Christ we would still be guilty of sin. It took the precious blood of Jesus to wash us clean.

Isaiah 1:18

“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”

God’s love for us is so great that He sacrificed His Son to redeem us. Yet, if you are like me, there are times that we take this precious gift for granted. Sadly, there are times that we even dare to question God’s decisions in our lives. We want to cry out to God and ask why He would allow such pain and suffering to overtake us.

Losing a mate or child does overtake us like a train. God knows our suffering. I believe He even gives us a pass on questioning Him as to why, but there comes a time when we have to surrender our will, to the will of God. We have to surrender our questions of why and accept that we may not know unto we get to Heaven.

When we surrender ourselves to the will of God them He can do a mighty work in us. This is when He can use us for His glory. Lord, help us to be willing to set aside our desires and accept your will for our lives, even if Your will sometimes causes us pain. Amen.

Blessed Sunday,

Running Ahead Of God

“Promise #44:
If you wait for Me, I will work on your behalf.

Isaiah 64:4 (WEB)
For from of old men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear,
neither has the eye seen a God besides you,
who works for him who waits for him.”

When troubles come and they do, we can be guilty of running ahead of God. Instead of seeking His help, we come up with a list of plans of what we can do to fix our problems. Even when we remember to ask God for help if the answer is not fast enough we can be tempted to put our own plan in action. When our plans collapse we then cry out to God.

God’s timing is not our timing. Many times God wants us to wait for His response. We do not have to twiddle our thumbs or walk the floors when waiting for God. We continue to work for God and we praise Him in advance of Him answering our prayer.

God’s plans are always better than ours. Sometimes, God’s plans take us down roads we hate. We cry out to God that this is not what we wanted for our life. Yet we show our love for God by trusting Him even when His plans cuts us to the core.

This is the time we must surrender to the will of God. Even when God’s plan brings us to despair, we must trust in God or we will never be at peace. In the days of suffering, take time to communicate with our Heavenly Father. Tell Him about your pain and talk to Him about your feelings and then wait on God. There will come a day when all will be revealed but till then wait on God.

Happy Friday,

Keeping Your Mind on God

You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. ISAIAH 26:3

There are so many things that keep our minds distracted that if we are not careful, God can become an afterthought to us. We can get where we only say a quick prayer before sleep.

To have a relationship with God the way God wants us to have, He must be first in our lives. When God is first in our lives, we will grow spiritually and we will be more at peace. We will still have troubles but we will find ourselves seeking God first, instead of last.

Change of subject, I read today of a woman Pastor in Washington D.C. that the reason Paul was against homosexuality was that Paul did not have social media to get the opinions of others so that he could form ‘the right opinion’. When we stand before God, He is not going to take social media’s opinion on what is a sin or not sin.

2 Timothy 3
King James Version

3 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Maranatha,
Betty

Happy Thursday,

Peace

“Promise #41:
I will give you peace at all times and in every situation.

2 Thessalonians 3:16 (WEB)
Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times
in all ways. The Lord be with you all.”

We live in a world where peace is often beyond our range. We must remember that God is able to bring peace in our lives in all circumstances. The more we trust in God amid our circumstances the more at peace we will be.

Things will happen to us that we do not understand why and may never understand as long as we walk this earth, but we can find peace by remembering God is with us and will never abandon us.

The more complex and unpredictable the world becomes let us draw closer than ever to the peacemaker, Jesus. Our faith in God will not be in vain.

Happy Wednesday,

“You Are Welcome In This Place”

We used to sing “Holy Spirit, You are welcome in this place” at Church. It is a great uplifting song, but do we welcome the Holy Spirit in our lives? Do we seek guidance from the Holy Spirit? Are we willing to allow the Holy Spirit to search our hearts for hidden sin? We all want the comfort the Holy Spirit gives, but are we willing to accept His warnings when our life, our thoughts, or our intentions are not Holy?

We must humble ourselves before God and be willing to accept His discipline and guidance. When we do this we will grow spiritually and produce more spiritual fruit.

Hebrews 12:6
King James Version
6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

John 15:2
King James Version
2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

No one wants to be disciplined by God but, we all want to bear healthy spiritual fruit. Submitting to God should be done out of our love for Him. We want to grow spiritually in righteousness and truth. May God help us to also walk in obedience.

Happy Tuesday,

Guide Me, Holy Spirit

“Promise #39:
I will look after you and teach you the way that is best.

Psalm 32:8 (WEB)
I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go.
I will counsel you with my eye on you.”

We can often feel like we are drifting like a boat without an anchor, being moved about with waves that come into our lives, seemingly out of nowhere. These waves can be big or small but they still disrupt our daily lives and can make us feel out of sorts. If we are not careful we can become so focused on the waves, that we lose sight of God. This can lead to doubts and fears.

This is when we need to change our focus from our problems to our God. He knows what is happening and these waves do not take Him by surprise. It would be great if we always had our focus on God. Jesus knew about our tendency to wander. He compared us to sheep who do the same thing. We like sheep need our Shepherd. Jesus is our Shepherd.
Betty

Matthew 10:16
New King James Version
Persecutions Are Coming
16 “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless[a] as doves.

John 10:3
New King James Version
3 To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.

Happy Monday,

Letting Go

But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13b-14, NIV

The past is like a worm eating at a plant. Just when you think you have moved on it starts crunching away. There are some things that you cannot move away from. When you lose a loved one, it is like losing a limb. You are always aware of the loss.

Even when you choose to trust God, there is still this nagging feeling of why. Just when you think you have conquered the why something reminds you of your loss and you are still wondering why.

When this happens, the best thing we can do is take our hurt and despair to God. There is a pain and emptiness that only God can comfort and fill. Our loved ones and friends feel for us but as much as we love them they cannot take the place of the person of our loved one who is gone from our lives.

Yet, we are not hopeless. We will be united with our loved ones again. We will walk the streets of Heaven with those who have gone before us, again.
For now, we must seek comfort from God and keep pressing onward until we enter the gates of Heaven.
Betty

Matthew 5:4
New King James Version
4 Blessed are those who mourn,
For they shall be comforted.

Luk 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Blessed Sunday,

“How Great Thou Art”

God loves us so much and has adopted those who have accepted Jesus Jesus as their Savior and Lord to be His children. This is a marvelous gift that has been bestowed upon us. Sometimes we forget how marvelous and powerful is our God.

Today, let us take time to recognize how great the God we serve is and worship His Majesty and His kindness and goodness to His children. Let us not take His kindness and love for us as a weakness for He is a powerful God. In His love, He is kind and loving to us, but we must worship Him with reverence and respect.

Though God chooses to walk with us and He cares about us, He is still the God that spoke the universe into existence. No one in the universe is greater or more powerful than God.

O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.

Chorus:
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

When through the woods, and forest glades I wander,
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees.
When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur
And see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

And when I think, that God, His Son not sparing;
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on a Cross, my burdens gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation,
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart.
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration,
And then proclaim: "My God, how great Thou art!"

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

Happy Saturday,

Perfection In Christ

Isaiah 44:22
22 I have swept away your sins like a cloud.
I have scattered your offenses like the morning mist.
Oh, return to me,
for I have paid the price to set you free.”

1 Peter 1:16
New Living Translation
16 For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.”[a]

When God looks at His children, He sees holy perfect people. When we look at ourselves, we see all our sins and imperfections. The difference is God sees us through the precious blood of His Son, Jesus.

Salvation is not about seeing how much we can get away with and still be a child of God. The more we love God, the more we long to walk in righteousness and truth.

While we will not achieve perfection in our corruptible bodies, the desires of our hearts should to live holy lives because we love God and not our of fear of punishment.
Betty

Proverbs 9:10
New Living Translation
10 Fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom.
Knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgment.

Proverbs 14:27
New Living Translation
27 Fear of the Lord is a life-giving fountain;
it offers escape from the snares of death.

Deuteronomy 8:6
New Living Translation
6 “So obey the commands of the Lord your God by walking in his ways and fearing him.

Happy Friday,

Prayer For A New Begining

“Daily Prayer for February 4
Christoph Friedrich Blumhardt
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me.” John 14:6, RSV

Lord our God, help us who have listened in the name of Jesus Christ and heard the good tidings. Help us come with our whole hearts to the Savior, who leads us into your arms. Hear our pleading and let your countenance shine over the world. Let a new age come soon. Send your salvation into the world to the glory of your name, so that the truth we have learned about you becomes a reality in our hearts and our whole life can be genuine, rooted in the truth, leading us into heaven, to the honor of your name. Hear us, O Lord our God. We entrust ourselves and our daily lives to you. We want to be faithful. Help us to be your children, mindful at every step that we belong to you. Amen.”

As Christians, we look forward with great anticipation to Heaven. Where no evil will enter in and death will not show its face. It is great to look forward to Heaven, as we should, yet we need to be living today. We can become so focused on Heaven that we miss opportunities today to be working for God.

We should begin each day seeking God and asking Him how we can work for Him. Those of us dealing with grief will have times that just surviving is work. This is normal, but on good days we can make effort to be useful to God and His Kingdom.

We all look forward to the day when Jesus will set up His Kingdom on earth and the earth will be healed and lawlessness will be a memory. Until that day let us be open to hearing the voice of God and praying for lost souls.
Betty

Revelation 22:20
King James Version
20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

Luk 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Happy Wednesday,

Set Apart

Romans 1:1
New International Version
1 Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God—

John 17:14 - 17:17
14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

We live in this world but we are not to become like the world. We are not to share the attributes of this world. We must not give in the fleshly desires that are contrary to the Word of God.

We can not serve two masters. We can either serve God or ourselves. It is getting harder to be different in this world, but that is what our Heavenly Father tells us to do. There is no pleasure we can partake in that is worth losing out on an eternity with God.

It does not matter what the majority believes. Remember wide is the road to hell and narrow is the road to Heaven. Pray that God will sanctify us for His glory and that living righteous lives will be our priority.
Betty

Happy Wednesday,

Obedience is Better Than Sacrifice

“If you love me, you will keep my commandments.”
John 14:15 (RSV)

The more we love God, the more we want to please Him. We want to keep the commandments of God, not out of obligation, but out of a heart of love.
We want to live in righteousness and truth. We no longer want to see how much we can get away with, but to seek to please our Lord and Savior as we walk daily with Him.

True love for God takes us to a place where pleasing Him is more important than pleasing the world. We want to walk as close to God as possible. There will be times when we stumble and sin, but immediately our hearts will hurt because of sin and we will run to God to repent and seek to please Him.

Psalm 119:1-8
New King James Version
Meditations on the Excellencies of the Word of God
119
Blessed are the [a]undefiled in the way,
Who walk in the law of the Lord!
2 Blessed are those who keep His testimonies,
Who seek Him with the whole heart!
3 They also do no iniquity;
They walk in His ways.
4 You have commanded us
To keep Your precepts diligently.
5 Oh, that my ways were directed
To keep Your statutes!
6 Then I would not be ashamed,
When I look into all Your commandments.
7 I will praise You with uprightness of heart,
When I learn Your righteous judgments.
8 I will keep Your statutes;
Oh, do not forsake me utterly!

How do we get to the point that pleasing God is more important than being politically correct? We seek God with all our hearts. We begin each day seeking His guidance. We pray that God will teach us to walk in righteousness and truth. Then we stop worrying about what the world thinks of us and care more about pleasing God.

Tuesday,

From My Heart

Five months ago, today, my son left this world. At times it still feels like a bad dream. It is still hard for me to get my head around the fact that I can not call him on the phone. I still do not understand why God took him, instead of healing him on earth.

Keeping your faith without explanation or the reason why is hard. It is a daily struggle. Yet, there are times that I am at peace, as God overflows me with His love. People often say that is not our place to question God, yet our hearts long for answers why when we lose someone we love. There is a deep longing to hear God answer the question: “Why?”.

There are times when trusting God is hard. Serving God in this world today is hard. If you believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, you will often be thought of as a radical. If you believe that the killing of unborn babies is wrong, you are a radical. If you believe that marriage should be between a man and woman, you are a radical.

As Christians, we must decide whether pleasing God or people is more important. Choosing to believe in the truth of God’s Word will cost you friends and have even relatives question your judgment. Paul tells us to speak the truth in season and out of season. Sadly, too many Preachers and Christians have abandoned the truth of God’s Word to be more politically correct. As Christians, we are called to speak the truth in love, not to be PC.

2 Timothy 4:2

“Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.”

Happy Monday,

Hymns

I am pleased that my Church has started singing old Hymns again. I like the old Hymns. As we get older there are many memories from the past that seemed to have grown sweeter with age.

This world is not the same as it was in the ’60s. We walked to the shopping center and rode our bikes sometimes till dusk. It is fun to think of the days when life seemed innocent and fun, but we cannot go back in time.

Life changes and there is no doubt that lawlessness is escalating. Yet we need not fear for God is still in control. He has not lost His powers and we can still trust Him in all things. We do not have to live in fear. Whatever happens, we can still trust that God is still on His throne.

When life gets hard cry out to Him. He will comfort and give you the strength to live in hope and not in fear.

Blessed Sunday,

Singing the old Hymn: “He Leadeth Me” in my head this morning. What wondrous love God has for us, that He is willing to lead us like a Shepherd, leads His sheep!

Isaiah 53:6
King James Version
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Our Heavenly Father, the Great Shepherd, comes and gets us when we wander away into paths that are against His will. He does not give up on us, but brings us back into His pasture, where we belong. May God help us to stay committed to following Him and not to be led astray by false doctrine and teaching.

Happy Saturday,

The Mercies of God

Psalm 59:17
King James Version
17 Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing: for God is my defence, and the God of my mercy.

There are times that we do not feel the mercies of God. Times when we feel helpless and the battle we are in, seems to be beyond our capabilities to fight against in. Sometimes we do not have the strength to fight.

We must remind ourselves that we are not in this battle alone. For the God of Heaven is with us and He will give us victory. We can not see the victory now, but that does not mean it is not coming.

In these times we must seek God and pray that He will cover us with His love and mercy. There will be times that we will praise God with tears in our eyes but keep praising God. Despite our circumstances, God is worthy of all praise and glory.

We can be overcomers when we walk with God, even in the dark valleys. Let us pray that God will help us to grow spiritually and walk with Him daily. If we stumble seek the face of God for forgiveness and mercy. One day we will again feel the joy of the Lord, but for now, continue to worship Him, in the midst of your pain.

Happy Friday,

Finding Our Way

“Daily Prayer for January 28
Christoph Friedrich Blumhardt
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. Psalm 32:8, NIV
Lord our God, we come into your presence and ask you to help us. Help us in every part of our lives, even when we do not understand. Be with us with your Spirit. Guide and lead us with your hand. Let your will be done in all things, even if we must bear suffering. Your will is for good alone and you will set everything right. Help us. Bless us through your Word, through everything we are allowed to hear from you, our God and our Father. Amen”

I believe every Christian has struggled with making decisions. Life can feel like the show: “Let‘s Make A Deal”. If we pick door A it can be a disaster and picking door B can be a success, but what if door A is a success? We wrestle for days and weeks looking for answers.

The answer can be found by seeking God and His will. God is not hiding the answers from us. When we seek Him, He will reveal the way to go to us. When we trust in Him, He will guide us.

Our Heavenly Father loves us and He wants to help us walk in righteousness and truth. God will never lead us into sin. He is upright and a just God.

Through the most trying times, God will guide us and lead us through to the other side. He will help us survive grief and turmoil. Though we may feel deep pain and sorrow, God will see the valley and onward to the mountain top. We will know joy again.

God help us not to give up but to guide us daily as we travel through the valley of death onward to the mountaintop of victory.
Amen,
Betty

Happy Thursday,

Child Like Faith

The faith of a child is one of complete trust. This is the way God wants us to trust Him. I am often guilty of coming up with a backup plan, just in case. This is doubt. We need to trust God to provide the answers. God does not need our help, nor does He ask for our help.

We can get in the way of God’s plans by trying to work problems out ourselves, on our own. This does not mean we will never have to make decisions, but God will guide us when we pray for guidance.

Let us not allow pride to keep us from seeking help from God. God knows the future, we do not. We can put our complete trust in God without fear.
Betty

Happy Wednesday,

The Lord Hears The Cries of His Children

Daily Prayer for January 26
Christoph Friedrich Blumhardt
“The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them. Psalm 145:18-19, NIV
Dear Father in heaven, Almighty God, your children look to you in prayer. Hold us always by the hand. Reveal to us that you hear us, that you are among us providing what is best for us, to the glory of your name. In this hour let us experience something from you, the good and merciful One. May we always be glad and thankful for all we have already received from you and for all we are still to receive in our lives. Amen”

When we are traveling the valley of death or the valley of sickness, we can begin to think that God has forsaken us. We can become overwhelmed by loneliness, especially those whose mate has passed away.

Yet, we can cry out to God and ask Him to wrap His arms around us and comfort us and He will do so. God will show mercy to the suffering. When we draw near to God, He has promised to draw near to us.

In His mercy, God will give us peace of mind, when we take our fears to Him. When we are stressed about a decision we have to make, God will guide us to the right decision. Let us not become overwhelmed by our circumstances, but seek God and trust in His wondrous grace.

Happy Tuesday,

The Blessings of God

Promise #25:
I will not withhold anything good from those with an upright heart.

Psalm 84:11 (WEB)
For Yahweh God is a sun and a shield.
Yahweh will give grace and glory.
He withholds no good thing from those who walk blamelessly.

It is easy to get caught up in grief, financial, and physical problems, and begin to think that God does not want the best for us. We see our losses and we wonder where was God when our loved one died? Where was God when we our bodies developed an uncurable disease or we lost our job? We can get so caught up in our pain that we cannot see the work that God is doing in us.

We do know why God allows so much pain to enter our lives. This lack of understanding can lead to fear and doubts. God wants us to trust Him, even when do understand His reasonings and methods.

When we were children our parents made decisions that affected us personally and they did not always explain themselves to us. They expected us to trust that they knew best. Sometimes parents make mistakes because they are human. God never makes mistakes.

There will be times that we hate the decision God made in our lives, but as His children, we are to trust Him in all things. By faith we accept His will knowing one day we will understand why He leads us down paths of despair and sorrow.

Even when we walk in the valley of death, God has not abandoned us. It is often late at night when we are overwhelmed with sorrow and pain. This is when we need to cry out to God and seek comfort from those who love us.

Whatever situation we are in, remember God is still in control and we can trust Him to see us through another day. We can rejoice knowing that there is a future for us in Heaven where there is no sickness nor death. Seek the face of God throughout the day, telling Him about our pain and fears and ask Him to comfort us and lift us up.

Happy Monday,

God’s Love Will Not Fail

“Promise #24:
My love will persevere through every situation.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (WEB)
4 Love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, 5 doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; 6 doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;  7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”

The love of people can grow lukewarm or even cold towards God and other people. God’s love is consistent through all circumstances. He does not abandon us when we go through periods of doubts and fears.

When we wander off like a restless sheep, our loving Shepherd comes to get us. The Bible teaches us how to love God and each other. The world’s love is temporary. How many people have we seen go from the jewel of the world to hated by the world? A misspoken word or believing different than the world can get a person canceled.

God will never fail not abandon His children. We can trust completely in God without fear.

One Thing Remains (Your Love Never Gives Up) Lyrics + Video
by Todd Galberth | in Reggae
Higher than the mountains that I face
Stronger than the power of the grave
Constant through the trial and the change
One thing remains,
Yes, one thing remains.

Your love never fails,
It never gives up
It never runs out on me
Your love never fails,
It never gives up
It never runs out on me
Your love never fails,
It never gives up
It never runs out on me

Because on and on, and on, and on it goes
Before it overwhelms and satisfies my soul
And I never ever have to be afraid
One thing remains
So, this one thing remains.

Chorus:
Your love never fails,
It never gives up
It never runs out on me
Your love never fails,
It never gives up
It never runs out on me
Your love never fails,
It never gives up
It never runs out on me

Bridge:
In death, in life I'm confident and covered by the power of Your great love
My debt is paid.
There's nothing that can separate my heart from Your great love...

Your love goes on and on
Your love goes on and on
On and on

Happy Friday,

Seek God First

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Matthew 6:33-34 KJV

Grief can take away a person's interest in living. Things that were important before may no longer matter. We can be like the walking zombie, just waiting for death to overtake us.

Friends, this does not have to be our present, circumstances. We can establish in our hearts and minds the desire to live every day as a sacrifice for God. We must choose to live or we will be dishonoring the one we miss so much.

Our loved ones would be disappointed if we gave up living life to the fullest. God has us on this earth for a purpose. It is up to us to choose to live out that purpose. There will be moments when we are overtaken by grief. This is normal. We must not give up, but seek God everyday to help us to live to honor our God and Savior.

Happy Thursday,

“Turn My Eyes Upon Jesus”

There is so much happening in the world today. Many things that concern us. It is easy to be so caught up in fears and worries, that we lose sight of God. When this happens we can become fearful.

While we must keep up with what is happening, we must never allow ourselves to become obsessed with what is around us. We must keep our eyes on God and remind ourselves that He is in control.

While grieving, we can find comfort in Jesus. He will sustain us and give us the strength to face another day. There will be days that grief overwhelms us, we need not suffer alone. We can call out to God and ask Him to wrap His loving arms around us.

We see things happening in the world today that can cause us to fear. We need not react in fear. We must look to Jesus and ask Him to take away our fears and help us to trust in Him more and more each day. Our goals should be to draw closer to God each day and to walk in His righteousness and truth.

Whatever the future holds, we can fear not, if we put our complete trust in God.
Betty

Isaiah 41:10
King James Version
10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Happy Tuesday,

“Nip In The Bud”

I grew up watching the Andy Griffith show. One of Barney’s favorite sayings was:” nip in the bud”. Last night I could not sleep. The devil decided to offer me a game to play. Where I try to think of anything we could have done differently that would have saved Jeff.

I have played this game enough times to know it only leads to frustration, tears, and doubts. This time I told myself to nip in the bud. I reminded myself that no matter how many ideas I come up with, I cannot change the outcome of Jeff’s death.

There are times we have to stop the devil in His tracks, by reminding ourselves that he only wants to harm us. No good can come of playing his mind games. When he brings thoughts to our mind that upset us, begin to sing praises to God. Doing this will remind us of God’s great love for us.

There will always be times that the devil tempts us to play his games, but we do not have to accept his evil invitation. We rejoice knowing that Jeff is with God and no longer suffers any pain or temptations from the devil.
Now our family concentrates on living for God, each other, and our friends.

May God help us live each day to the fullest and seek to do His will.

Happy Monday,

God Has Not Forsaken His children

“Daily Prayer for January 17
Christoph Friedrich Blumhardt
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name's sake. Psalm 23:1-3, NIV
Dear Father in heaven, we thank you that we need never feel forsaken. We thank you that we are led and guided by your hand. We thank you for all we have received from you, your care for our bodies, for our material needs, and for our inner life. We praise you, O God! Continue to lead us, we pray. Continue to work among us so that we can all see and come to know that the Good Shepherd is leading us. Amen”

In the last two years, the world has been through a lot. Many of us have grown tired and weary. A survey has come out reporting that people are sick and tired of hearing about COVID. Yet the news seems to want to pound us over the head every day with news about it.

It is easy to feel like God has forgotten about us. The devil would love for us to think that. He would love the situations in this world to drive a wedge between us and God and to fill our minds with doubts.

Remember God has not left the scene and everything is falling in place for the coming judgment. Our suffering is for just a little while. For now, let us pray that God will help us live in His will. The safest place to be is in the will of God.

May God refresh you today with a renewal of His Holy Spirit. May He overflow your heart with His love. May we rejoice in His wondrous love for us and trust Him more each day. He is the great Shepherd, let us stay close by His side.

Happy Saturday,

Come to God in Our Weakness

“Daily Prayer for January 15
Christoph Friedrich Blumhardt
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. Romans 8:26, NIV
Lord God, send your Spirit, we pray, over us and over the whole world. Let your light dawn on earth among humankind. Reveal your power and let your reign begin. May your will be done, O Lord. We kneel before your throne and plead to you. We are weak. Lord, help us. Bless us. Establish your kingdom in the hearts of those who are willing to follow you, who are willing to accept your grace in Jesus Christ. Help us through your strength. Reign over us. Be with us with your Holy Spirit, O Lord God, our Father. Amen”

God often does the most work through us when we are at our weakness. It is when we are at our weakest that we lay aside our pride and come to God as vulnerable little children.

Jeff’s death not only knocked me off my feet but it left me vulnerable and weak. The more I fought against the death of Jeff the angrier I became. God was not able to get me to a place of peace until I completely surrendered to Him.

When we refuse to surrender our way to God’s will, we will find ourselves walking in rebellion against God. There are a lot of things that happen to us that we do not understand. When we begin to become obsessed with why God allowed things to happen to us, we lose sight of God and our faith grows weak.

The Holy Spirit is our friend and if we listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit, He will guide us. We will, not always know the reasons why things happen until we get to Heaven. We must make the choice to walk in faith and to trust in God even when we our questions are not answered.

Happy Friday,

Trusting God

Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning,
For in You do I trust;
Cause me to know the way in which I should walk,
For I lift up my soul to You.
Psalm 143:8 NKJV

There are times in our lives when we need to make a decision and we do not know what to do. The uncertainty can make us fearful. If we put our trust in God......

I had to restart my tablet because it froze. This is what fear can do to us. Fear can cause us to freeze to the point that we are not capable of making a decision. We literally become helpless.

God tells us to trust Him and to seek His advice. We do not have to stumble in the dark. God knows what lies ahead and He can help us to make the right decision.

Right now we are in a position when a third party’s decision will affect the future for our daughter and us. My daughter and I need not fear. We can put the situation in God’s hands and trust Him to give all three of us the right outcome.

When we stop fighting and give in to God’s will we can still live in peace while we wait for God’s decision. Waiting for His answer is not wasteful time. While we wait, we can grow in the Lord.

Whatever decision you have to make, seek God’s will and trust in Him.
Betty

Happy Thursday,

“Having Done All Stand”

Ephesians 6:13
New King James Version
13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

My brain thought it was September, again. No worries, my tablet shows the date. It is not what we think that matters, but the truth of God that matters. We do ourselves and others a disservice when we waver about the truth of God’s Word. We are failing God if we do not stand firm in the truth of God’s Holy Word. We either trust in the truth of God’s Holy Word, or we do not.

Just as Jeremiah told the people to choose whether they would serve the God of Heaven or the gods of this world we must decide whether we want to live on the side of God are be a people pleaser. Remember that there is no crown in Heaven awaiting, people pleasers.

God help us to seek to please you and live in righteousness. We love You, our Lord and Savior. Help us to seek to serve you, above all.
Amen,
Betty

Daily Prayer for January 13
Christoph Friedrich Blumhardt
Be watchful, stand firm in your faith, be courageous, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love. 1 Corinthians 16:13-14, RSV
Dear Father in heaven, give us childlike hearts so that we may understand everything in the right way. Grant us work that bears fruit in spite of our faults and weaknesses, because we want to work with the understanding given by love. Father in heaven, you know that we are faced day and night with many difficulties and setbacks. But you see us, and you will help us so that your name may be honored, your kingdom may come, and your will may be done on earth as in heaven. Amen”

Happy Wednesday,

“Make a Joyful Noice Unto the Lord
Psalms
Chapter 100

1
(A Psalm of praise.) Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
2
Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
3
Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
5
For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

Thankfully, God did not call for only talented singers, to sing praises to Him. We are all called to lift our voices in praise to God. With COPD, my singing voice is getting weaker, but I can still offer up praises to God, even when it is just a whisper.

We lift up our voices to God to acknowledge how majestic God is and how glorious is His Name above all Name. We honor God with our praises, because He gave His all to purchase our salvation.

May we serve God, not out of obligation but out of our love for Him. My friends do not fear tomorrow but trust God to be with you through all things.

Happy Tuesday,

Live in Today

“Daily Prayer for January 11
Christoph Friedrich Blumhardt
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1, RSV
Our dear Father, we ask you to come to us from heaven and surround us with your goodness and mercy, with your light and life. We are weak, poor, and lost just when we need to stand firm and hold on. But you are faithful. You stay by us and help us. Continue to help and sustain us, we pray. Do not let our lives be lived in vain. May something of eternity be with us in all we have to face in life, so that over and over again we may find courage to start anew. Amen”

I get so excited about the rapture. I make no apology for that. I am not alone in this, I know. We must not get so caught up in the future that we do live-out God’s will today.

2 Timothy 4:8
“Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”

God wants us to be excited about the soon-coming rapture. He is going to reward us for loving the rapture. We must also want to be about doing the Father’s businesses until He does return.

Until we take our last breath on this earth there is work to be done for God. We all cannot preach, but we can share the truth of the Gospel, in love. Sadly, even some Christians do not want to hear the truth. We speak the truth, then we move on.

Those of us limited by disabilities can pray for lost souls, protection over fellow Christians, and that the will of God may be done.

There will be days that things are said and done to us that knock the wind out of our sails. When this happens, run to Jesus and seek His face. Trust in Him above all.

Michael W. Smith - Above All Lyrics
Artist: Michael W. Smith
Album: Miscellaneous
Genre: Christian

Above all powers, above all kings
Above all nature and all created things
Above all wisdom and all the ways of man
You were here, before the world began

Above all kingdoms, above all thrones
Above all wonders the world has ever known
Above all wealth and treasures of the earth
There's no way to measure what you're worth

Crucified, laid behind a stone
You lived to die, rejected and alone
Like a rose, trampled on the ground
You took the fall and thought of me
Above all

Above all powers
Above all powers, above all kings
Above all nature and all created things
Above all wisdom and all the ways of man
You were here, before the world began

Above all kingdoms, above all thrones
Above all wonders the world has ever known
Above all wealth and treasures of the earth
There's no way to measure what you're worth

Crucified, laid behind a stone
You lived to die, rejected and alone
Like a rose, trampled on the ground
You took the fall and thought of me
Above all

Crucified, laid behind a stone
You lived to die, rejected and alone
Like a rose, trampled on the ground
You took the fall and thought of me
Above all

Like a rose, trampled on the ground
You took the fall and thought of me
Above all

Thank you Jesus
Hallelujah

Happy Monday,

Spirit Of Fear

“Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:6-7, NKJV)

We can become overcome by fear. Fear is like a cancer. It can eat you up and destroy your peace. I, too am easily overcome by fear. This world is filled with people who are overcome by fear.

People are afraid of disease, violence, and even the results of the coming elections. Christians, are not immune to fear. We do not have to be, but we can easily be led by the devil to take our eyes off of God and become paralyzed, by the things happening around us.

We can be so obsessed with tomorrow that we are unable to live in God’s will today. We cannot live tomorrow, today. Jesus said to pray:” give us this day our daily bread”.

There is nothing wrong with stocking up for our needs in the future as long we do not allow fear of the future, to blind us to our Heavenly Father and to freeze our minds into a cloud of confusion and fear.
Betty

Isaiah 41:10 ESV
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

2 Timothy 1:7 ESV
For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

1 John 4:18 ESV
There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.

Psalm 34:4 ESV
I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears.

Joshua 1:9 ESV
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Proverbs 29:25 ESV
The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe.

Psalm 23:1-6 ESV
A Psalm of David. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. ...

Psalm 56:3-4 ESV
When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?

Philippians 4:6 ESV
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Deuteronomy 31:6 ESV
Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”

Psalm 27:1 ESV
Of David. The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Romans 8:15 ESV
For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”

John 14:27 ESV
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

Psalm 23:4 ESV
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

Romans 8:38-39 ESV
For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 Peter 5:6-7 ESV
Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

Philippians 4:6-7 ESV
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Psalm 118:6 ESV
The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?

Blessed Sunday,

Pursue Good For Yourself And Others

1 Thessalonians 5:12-19
New King James Version
Various Exhortations
12 And we urge you, brethren, to recognize those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord and [a]admonish you, 13 and to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. Be at peace among yourselves.
14 Now we [b]exhort you, brethren, warn those who are [c]unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all. 15 See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all.
16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
19 Do not quench the Spirit.

We have an obligation to God to live righteously and to encourage one another. We all have times when we are weak and need encouragement ourselves. When we falter we do not need admonishment but encouragement. When we have doubts we do not need criticism but kindly reminders that God is still on His throne and in control.

Above all make sure that we are living faithfully for our Heavenly Father and that we are listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit. Pray that God will help us to be grateful Christians, even when we are walking through storms and dark days.

Often it is late at night when the devil attacks us with his lies. When this happens, begin to sing praises to God. This will encourage you and be an offering to our God and Savior. Fear, not the future, for God, knows the future.

Happy Saturday,

Sometimes We Have To Be Broken

Mosaic art is beautiful, especially when the sun shines through it. There are times God has to allow us to be broken to bring out the best in us. When we are laying on the floor with pieces of ourselves everywhere we only see the ugly.

Even when God puts us back together, we still feel broken and ugly. Yet, if we allow God to shine His light through us, God’s beauty will shine out lighting the way to God for others. Curse not your brokenness, but ask God to use your brokenness for His Glory. Be a willing servant of the Lord, through all circumstances.

Happy Friday,

How Well Do I Know Jesus?

Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip?" JOHN 14:9

We have close friends, we have friends, and we have people we know. There are differences in the relationships with each type. Close friends know the most about us, friends know a little about us, and others know even less about us.

We choose how close we want to be with God. We can either walk very closely with Him or we can choose to walk less close with Him. We can choose to share our hearts and thoughts with Him or we can choose to have a casual relationship with God.

When we choose not to be as close to God as we should we cheat ourselves. We cheat ourselves out of knowing God. We do not want to be like Philp who walked with Jesus, yet did not know Him.

Friends, we must open our eyes to the reality around us. The President of France said that people who are in his Country who choose not to be vaccinated or not French. Australia is putting unvaccinated people in camps. A news reporter attacked on-air, Christian Republicans as a threat to this Country.

I am not telling anyone not to get the jab. This is between you and your Doctor. I am saying that the world is slowly dividing the people and a Country of divided people are vulnerable.

This is the time to recognize the times we are living in. We are getting closer and closer to the rapture which we will be followed by the tribulation.

Christians it is time to stop playing at Christianity and choose to commit wholeheartedly to God. We need to take an easement of our Spiritual health and choose to walk in righteousness and truth. Before the rapture, we may suffer hard times. People are already blaming Christians for the failures in our Country. We may face persecution in this Country for our faith in Christ. To survive we must truly know God and know His power so that we can put complete trust in Him.
Betty

Psalms 46:10

Happy Thursday,

Living Holy Lives

Ephesians 1:1 - 1:4
Now viewing scripture range from the book of Ephesians chapter 1:1 through chapter 1:4...
Ephesians Chapter 1

1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:
2 Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

We are not going to live perfect lives, but we can choose to live our lives in a way to please God. The more we stay focused on God, the more we grow we to love Him. The more we love God the more we want to please Him.

When we live to please God, we will be at peace with God. When we seek God’s will we will find the joy of the Lord. Life is not perfect. We will have problems. We get sick. Love ones die. Things happen to us that we do not like. Yet, we can completely trust God with our lives and our families lives.

Do not take our eyes off God but keep our focus on Him and rejoice in His love for us.
Betty

Happy Tuesday,

Grief Is A Journey

It has been 4 months since Jeff left us. Still, I do not understand why. He had so much left to do. Being a husband to Sarah, father to Savannah, working in his Church, and yes, being here for his parents. I just cannot wrap my head around it.

I have suffered loss before, my parents and my youngest sister. Losing a child is different. If you lose your parents you are an orphan. If you lose a husband you are a widow. There is no term for losing a child because it is not meant to be.

Do you ever completely heal from losing a loved one? I do not think so. It is like losing a part of your body. You learn to adapt, but the loss doesn't go away.

Yet, hard as this journey is, I am not alone. My God, my Heavenly Father, walks this journey with me. We must never underestimate the power of prayer. We can reach Heaven in a second, when we cry out to God.

If we are willing our journey can shine the light to others that God and His Word can be trusted. That walking with the Lord does not end just because God has put us on a road that we do not understand nor do we even want to be on this road. We walk this cold and terrible road, by faith. We do not give up, because we trust our God and Savior. We do not give into the lies of the devil, but choose every day to trust in God and accept His Will. We must choose to walk by faith.
Betty

2 Corinthians 5:7 says…
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”

Proverbs 3:5-6 teaches us…
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.”

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 says…
“So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.”

Psalm 23:4 promises…
“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”

Matthew 17:20 says…
“He said to them, ‘Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, “Move from here to there,” and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.’”

James 2:26 says…
“For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.”

Matthew 21:22…
“And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”

1 Corinthians 2:5 says…
“So that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.”

James 1:5-8 says…
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.”

2 Kings 6:15-17 says…
“When the servant of the man of God rose early in the morning and went out, behold, an army with horses and chariots was all around the city. And the servant said, ‘Alas, my master! What shall we do?’ He said, ‘Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.’ Then Elisha prayed and said, ‘O LORD, please open his eyes that he may see.’ So the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.”

Luke 17:5 says…
“The apostles said to the Lord, ‘Increase our faith!’”

Luk 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Happy Monday,

Don’t Give Up

Isaiah 62:11
“Behold, the LORD hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.”

Only God knows what 2022, holds. We need not fear 2022 for God is with us and will be with us. Hold on to the promises of God. His Word is true and He never changes.

Sadly, I am seeing more and more people on Facebook, who seem to think God is an ATM machine. They show a picture of millions of dollars and then they post to claim it. I have never seen anywhere in the Bible for us to proclaim wealth as ours.

God will meet our needs, but I do not believe God is concerned about making His children millionaires on earth. Heaven has streets of gold. God is not concerned about making us wealthy on this earth. God is concerned about our spiritual health.

This grab it and claim it is a lie from the devil. It takes our eyes off what is important. If you had a billion dollars, you most likely will not be any happier. Look at all the miserable people with wealth and power in the world today.

We need to start living our lives for eternity and be less concerned about having the best of everything. We do not want our best life in earth, we want our best life to be in Heaven where we live for eternity.

God open our eyes and help us to see what is important. God help us to choose to live for Him and lay aside our fears and trust Him.
Betty

1 John 4:18
“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.”

Matthew 10:31
“Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.”

Luke 12:32
“Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”

Blessed Sunday,

Renewal In The Lord

Colossians 3:10
“And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:”

We must be renewed daily by the Holy Spirit, or we will become stagnant and our testimony of God’s Love will begin to fade. Our goal should be a walking testimony of God’s love, compassion, and mercy to the world.

God knows we grow weary and we face fears and doubts this is why He calls us to Himself, for daily renewal and refreshing of our soul and spirit. It is up to us to draw close to Him. We must make the effort.

We can be overcomers, even as we are still broken for God in His wondrous love for us, uses the broken and the brokenhearted for His glory.

Happy Saturday,

Happy New Year

I was awake until 4 this morning. Part of me was afraid to go to sleep. Ever since November 1st, I have told myself that if I make it through the Holidays, that I would be fine. I was ignoring the fact that the New Year would not bring my son back. Yet, a part of me lived on that hope.

Many people live through the year hoping that the New Year will bring a better version of themselves. Midnight on New Year’s Eve is not a magic pill. We don't go to bed on New Year’s Eve and wake up New Year’s Day, with all our faults gone.

Yes the New Year is new beginning but the things we want to change in ourselves will take time and effort. If we want to be healthier, we will have to make changes in our diet and exercise.

If want to grow spiritually we will have to spend more time in the Word of God and more time in prayer. If want to be a kinder people this year we will have to make the effort to be kinder.

2022 is a New Year, but we have to decide who we will be in 2022. First of all, make realistic goals. Chances are we will not get a model figure in one year, but we can strive to be a healthier version of ourselves. We are not going to become perfect, but we can with God’s help grow in faith and become closer to God.

2022 will not bring back our loved ones who passed away in 2021, but we can choose to remember them and love those we have left more, and appreciate them more. We can choose to let our remaining family know how special they are to us.

2021 is gone. It is just a memory. May God help us to live in 2022 in a way that is pleasing to Him. May He help us to grow spiritually and choose to walk in the truth of the Gospel and wall in righteousness.
Betty

Happy Friday,

Loss of Hope

“Promise #365:
Hold fast to the hope you confess, for I am faithful to keep My promises.

Hebrews 10:23 (WEB)
let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering;
for he who promised is faithful.”

With everything that has happened in 2021, it is hard for many of us to have hope. Many of us have lost loved ones. Many of us have dealt with illnesses and disabilities. 2022 does not offer much hope to us.

Yet, our hope is not in this world, nor her leaders. Our hope is in the creator of this world. We are easily wavered by what we have lost, fears of what is to come, and doubts of God’s love and protection of us.

We must not allow the devil to steal our faith in God. God’s love is steady, no matter what lies the devil tells us. We must choose to stand fast in our faith in God. We can do so by reading God’s Holy Word.

Romans 1:17
“For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.”

2 Corinthians 5:7
“(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)”

Hebrews 10:23
“Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)”

We are so close to the end, God help us not to lose hope or our faith in the security of God’s love for us. He will never leave us not fail us.

Philippians 3:14
“I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”

Let us finish the race strong and full of faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Happy Wednesday,

Accepting The Hard

John 6:10
New International Version
10 Jesus said, “Have the people sit down.” There was plenty of grass in that place, and they sat down (about five thousand men were there).

When Jesus fed the people there 5,000 with just the men, but when Jesus begin to speak the hard stuff the majority of the people left.

John 6:25-59

New International Version

Jesus the Bread of Life
25 When they found him on the other side of the lake, they asked him, “Rabbi, when did you get here?”
26 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, you are looking for me, not because you saw the signs I performed but because you ate the loaves and had your fill. 27 Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.”
28 Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”
29 Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”
30 So they asked him, “What sign then will you give that we may see it and believe you? What will you do? 31 Our ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written: ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’[a]”
32 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven. 33 For the bread of God is the bread that comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”
34 “Sir,” they said, “always give us this bread.”
35 Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. 36 But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe. 37 All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. 38 For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. 39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. 40 For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.”
41 At this the Jews there began to grumble about him because he said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven.” 42 They said, “Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How can he now say, ‘I came down from heaven’?”
43 “Stop grumbling among yourselves,” Jesus answered. 44 “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day. 45 It is written in the Prophets: ‘They will all be taught by God.’[b] Everyone who has heard the Father and learned from him comes to me. 46 No one has seen the Father except the one who is from God; only he has seen the Father. 47 Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life. 48 I am the bread of life. 49 Your ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness, yet they died. 50 But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which anyone may eat and not die. 51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”
52 Then the Jews began to argue sharply among themselves, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”
53 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. 56 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them. 57 Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me. 58 This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your ancestors ate manna and died, but whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.” 59 He said this while teaching in the synagogue in Capernaum.

Jesus knew the people were more concerned about the signs and wonders He performed than the Gospel He was preaching. They wanted the miracles but they could not accept the meat of the Gospel. There were more concerned about a full belly, than spiritual food.

They could not see that the bread and fishes that Jesus fed them only provided temporary fulfillment, while the spiritual food that He was offering provided eternal life.

Many Disciples Desert Jesus
60 On hearing it, many of his disciples said, “This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it?”
61 Aware that his disciples were grumbling about this, Jesus said to them, “Does this offend you? 62 Then what if you see the Son of Man ascend to where he was before! 63 The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit[a] and life. 64 Yet there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus had known from the beginning which of them did not believe and who would betray him. 65 He went on to say, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless the Father has enabled them.”
66 From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him.
67 “You do not want to leave too, do you?” Jesus asked the Twelve.
68 Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. 69 We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.”
70 Then Jesus replied, “Have I not chosen you, the Twelve? Yet one of you is a devil!”

Even today, many will follow a leader who provides Sermons that promote living your best life, getting rich, and perfect health. Yet when they hear the teaching of death to your flesh and picking up your cross, many reject these teachings.

Jesus did not live and die so that we could live our best life on earth. He lived and died so that we could have a relationship with Him, now and spend eternity in His presence.

Jesus never said this life would be easy. We will endure trials and temptations, but if we endure to the end, we will spend eternity with God.
We must seek the will of God over our own desires. Jesus must be Lord of our lives.

This life is temporary and our suffering, though hard and often lonely, is only temporary, hold fast to your reward in Heaven which is eternal.
Betty

Matthew 24:10 - 24:13
Now viewing scripture range from the book of Matthew chapter 24:10 through chapter 24:13...
Matthew Chapter 24

10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Happy Tuesday,

The Desires of Our Hearts

The desires of our hearts change as we age. At different points of our life, what is important to us also changes. This is normal. The important thing is to make sure that we pray for God’s will, above our own will.

It was God’s will to take my son to Heaven. This was not my will and I fought against it until the moment my son died and then refused to accept it for months. It was not until I surrendered to God, that I found peace.

We as Christians must be willing to surrender ourselves to the will of God or we will not live in peace. it is okay to share your desires with God for the present and the future, but we must be willing to accept the will of God.
Betty

Romans 12:2
King James Version
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

1 Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Thou art the Potter, I am the clay.
Mold me and make me after Thy will,
While I am waiting, yielded and still.
2 Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Search me and try me, Master, today!
Whiter than snow, Lord, wash me just now,
As in Thy presence humbly I bow.
3 Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Wounded and weary, help me, I pray!
Power, all power, surely is Thine!
Touch me and heal me, Savior divine.
4 Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Hold o’er my being absolute sway!
Fill with Thy Spirit till all shall see
Christ only, always, living in me

Happy Monday,

God’s Children

“Promise #361:
You are no longer a slave, for I have made you My child and My heir.

Galatians 4:7 (WEB)
So you are no longer a bondservant, but a son;
and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

Being called His children, is an honor that we often take for granted. Contrary to the belief of the world, all are not children of God. Only those who set aside their pride and admit they are a sinner and accept God’s generous gift of salvation are adopted into the family of God.

Just as Jesus said “your faith, has made you whole” so does salvation require faith. We must believe that Jesus became flesh and lived, died, and rose again for the redemption of mankind, to receive salvation.

Let us be grateful that Jesus suffered and died to redeem us from sin and adopted us into His family. This is the greatest gift of all. No matter what we are going through, we can encourage ourselves in the Lord and look forward with great anticipation to our blessed hope of an eternity in the presence of Almighty God.
