Good Afternoon,

Have you ever felt people where not taking you seriously? The Doctor seems to dismiss your concerns. Your boss blows off your suggestions why things are are going slow at work. Your mate doesn't seem to be listening when you try to tell them your hurts and concerns. There is one who always listens to our concerns and that is our Heavenly Father. He doesn't halfway listen to our prayers. His heart hurts with our grief. He is working things out our benefit. We may not see results today but He is working behind the scenes. There is victory ahead if we do not lose heart. His answers are always best and the results will be more then you dreamed of. You may be in the midst of a storm, but do not lose heart. You can trust God with all your heart and soul. Praise God in the storm and look forward to the answers He will surely bring.

It is tempting to be come discouraged and fearful but encourage yourself in the Lord and remind yourself that God is in control. The victories He brings will be worth the storms.

Good Afternoon and Happy Wednesday,

I am taking down my Christmas tree today. This morning I find myself staring at the tree, looking at the different ornaments. There are ornaments that are 37 years old, made by my son. There are ornaments my daughter bought me with her Christmas money, as a child. Memories are tied to so many ornaments and along with their beauty is precious memories. There is and old Hymn called "Precious Memories". This song acknowledges how precious memories can be. We cannot go back to our childhood, but we can take a trip down memory lane. This is especially comforting to us whom we remember the sweet memories we had with those who have left us. Cherish the memories you have of good times with your loved ones who have passed out of this world into Heaven.

Not all memories are comforting to us. Everyone has memories of when we have sinned or been sinned against. These are the memories the devil likes to use to haunt us. Remind the devil that your sins have been forgiven and you have forgiven those who sinned against you. Then take it a step further and pray for those the devil brings to mind. Take what the devil is using to discourage you and turn it into a ministry of prayer.

May we take the spirit of generosity and kindness that the season of Christmas brings, throughout this year. May Hod bless you and your family.
Betty

Yesterday we had many tiny birds, made me happy.

Good Morning and Happy Monday,

After Church yesterday, I was able to visit with my childhood friend, Ruth. It was wonderful talk with someone who knew me for so many years. In life we have many relationships. We have the treasured old relationships and we make new relationships as we go through life. There are some relationship, like my one with Ruth, that last for our life time. There are relationships that only last until one of the parties moves away.

There is one relationship we can always count on and that is our relationship with Jesus. No matter where we physically move to, God goes with us. Sadly there are times we move away from God spiritually. God will not chase us down and drag us back. He waits patiently for us to remember our need for Him and our love for Him. Sometimes He allows things to happen in our lives to remind us of our need for Him. This is done out of love for us. It is in His mercy that He seeks to bring us back.

As children of God we need to work on our relationship with God and not take it for granted. As much as God loves us, He will not settle for a relationship where we treat Him like a ATM machine. We cannot ask God to stay out of our business and then run to Him every time something bad happens only to push Him aside when our life is back on track. We need to be all in with God. God wants to be a part of all of our life.
God is not a statue that we leave in the car when we are at work or out with friends. This year let us seek a growing , healthy, and productive relationship ship with our Heavenly Father. A daily relationship with God is what our soul needs.

Good Afternoon and Happy Saturday,

After a funeral, when everyone has gone home, we are left with our loss.  Those who came and prayed with us, have given us all they can give, yet we are still left with the emptiness that death brings into our heart.  Even when we are blessed to know our loved one is in Heaven, we are left with the lost of their presence in our lives.  So many times we want to talk to them, to see their face, to hug them, but we can do none of these things.  Of course this lost hurts and hurts deep.  Where do we find peace in these times?  When we reach out to God and seek His help is where we find peace.  Sometimes we are comforted as we pray for those around us who like us, have suffered loss.  When we comfort others we open our heart to receive comfort.

After a loss, we are vulnerable to satan's tools.  Remember he seeks to kill and destroy.  If we allow him, he will drag us into depression.   There is a difference between sadness and depression.  Of course we are sad.  We would be heartless if we felt no sadness at our loss of our loved one.  Depression is an illness that saps our strength and our peace.  We can call on God and pray for the strength and resolve to resist the devil.  Remind the devil that you are not a soul with out hope.  You will see your loved one again.  Victory has been won by God and we will soon be rejoicing in Heaven with Jesus and all of our saved loved ones.
Seek comfort every day from God and remind yourself that this pain is temporary but Heaven is eternal.

Be at peace with God and man.  Sing songs of praise to God and rejoice in the many victories, God has brought forth in your life.

Good Afternoon and Happy Monday,

Wednesday morning my brother -in-law, AG and his wife, Beverly (my sister), will lay to rest AG's youngest daughter, (Hilda). When one of the hardest things that a person has to do is to bury their child. It is a pain that cuts to the very heart. Only God can heal that kind of hurt. The saving grace in this is both AG and Beverly and her husband and her sisters know with out a doubt, Hilda is in Heaven with Jesus.

“For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven, if indeed, having been clothed, we shall not be found naked. For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life. Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee. So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. For we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:1–8).

The best thing we can leave our loved ones is not money, homes, and cars. It is the knowledge that we are saved by the blood of Christ. Of course our loved ones will grieve. There is no one that can take your place in your loved ones heart, but when they close their eyes in sleep, they can whisper a prayer of thanksgiving for the knowledge that we are secure and completely healed and with our Heavenly Father.

The best gift we can give our loved ones is open your heart to Jesus. Confess your sins and ask Jesus to be your Savior and Lord. In reality this is the best gift we can give ourselves. When you have admitted your sins and accepted Jesus as your Savior you are at peace. Hilda knew she was dying, yet she was not afraid. Of course she was sad to leave her dear husband and her family. She knew that she would see them again in Heaven. Salvation does not prevent earthly death, but it does prevent eternal death in hell.
What better gift can you can give your loved ones then the knowledge that your are secure in your relationship with God.

1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Good Afternoon and Happy Thursday,

There are days when we feel as if we are running on empty. Maybe it was a restless night. Maybe we are in pain. Maybe we have been under spiritual attack for so long we are physically and emotionally drained. It is tempting to give up and to throw in the towel. Giving up is not the answer. Going to God and asking for help is the answer. Praying for a physical touch and praying for proper rest is the answer. Calling on others to pray for us, is also a good idea. There is no shame in admitting we need help. Only God and you know your circumstances. God not only has knowledge of your situation, but He will never abandon you.

Deu. 31: 6Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

I pray that God will make Himself real to you, today in a very personal way.

Good Afternoon and Happy Thursday,

By this time things are getting back to normal. Workers are back to work and some have even taking down their Christmas trees. Even though the Christmas season is almost to an end, we can carry the love of Christmas all year long in our hearts. We can still be kind to strangers and we can and should share God's love with others.

Next week we begin a New Year. Many folks make resolutions to do better in the coming year. Most resolutions are forgotten by March. The problem is not that people do not want to change but true change can only come through help from Jesus. Jesus changes us from the inside out. Along with our resolutions to do physical changes in our lives, let us seek with the help of God's help to make spiritual changes.

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday,

The animals have been fed and the squirrels and birds have been fed and now I have settle down with my cup of coffee. As I was walking with the bird seed and the cup of dry cat food I spilled the cat food. As I bent down to pick it up, I reminded myself that it was a blessing the cat food spilled and not the bird seed. It would take for ever to pick up tiny bird seed out of the carpet. There are times we need to remind ourselves that it could be worse. Hitting a small pole with your car is better then hitting another car. In life there will be inconvenience things that happen to us and then there will me major events that happen to us. Yet through the small and the huge things that happen, God is walking with us. We are not alone. Even in the middle of the night in a hospital room, when our family has gone home, God is with us. He is there to comfort us and encourage us. Whatever we are going through, God is with us and He is still in control.

As children of God, let us be the one who comforts those who are going through a bad patch. Let them know we are praying for them. Hold their hand and speak words of comfort and there are those times when those we love just need someone to cry with them. The worse thing we can do is pretend everything is fine. Hurting people need us to acknowledge that there are hurting and then offer them our love and a shoulder to cry on. Do not tell them about all your problems but prayerfully listen to their needs. Sometimes a shut mouth and listening ears is the best gift we can give someone. Be there for them; in body and emotionally. Let them speak their mind without interrupting and then pray before you speak, so that God will help you say the right words.

Good Afternoon and Happy Monday,

The day after Christmas, is a day when parents of young ones are exhausted and hoping to sneak in a little rest time. Us oldies look for any opportunity to rest.😉. Yesterday was an emotional high and today can seem like a let down. This is a good time to remind ourselves that the reason for yesterday's celebration still exist. While family members are most likely on their way home and we so enjoyed their company, the reason for Christmas Joy is still here. Jesus is still on His throne in Heaven. Eternal salvation is still available for sinners. Eternal bliss still awaits those who follow Christ. Even though we are physically tired we can rejoice in our hearts knowing that the price of our salvation was paid. Let us start today and everyday praying for our lost friends and loved ones.

This season our family and extended family has health issues. 2016 has been a year when many families have had attacks from the devil. Yet we have seen answers to prayers. The Moss family is a shining example of a family under attacks from every side and yet through the help of Jesus, they came out of the fire shining their light for Jesus. The devil attacks are not a sign that we are not living right, but an attack because the devil wants to kill our testimony. When we stay focused on Jesus we can come out of these trials with our spiritual lights shining brighter then ever. If you have come through attacks, praise God for your victories. If you are in the midst of an attack tell the devil that he will lose because God is in control.

As we look forward to the New Year let us prepare our hearts for God's work in our lives. Be like David and ask God to search your heart for any hidden sins and seek forgiveness. Spend time reading the Bible in prayer so that you are prepared for next year's battles. Do not fear the coming year but trust in the Lord with all your heart.

Good Morning and Blessed Christmas Eve,
Today is a good day to reflect on what Christ meant to mankind. When Adam and Eve sinned, mankind was separated from God. Before sin entered the world God walked with Adam every day. Once sin entered the world the walks ended. Jesus birth, death, and resurrection breached the gap between man and God. When The Holy Spirit convicts us of sin, we can choose to accept salvation or reject salvation. If we accept God comes to live In our hearts. If we reject, we stay in our sinful stare. We are usually invited by the Holy Spirit many times, but there comes a time when the invitation will be withdrawn and we will left in our sins.

Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them.
For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. (Romans 1:24-25).

If you still feel a tug in your heart, to come to God, go to Him in prayer. The Holy Spirit calling you to repentance is a sign that it is not too late.

What a wonderful time to accept Jesus as your Savior and Lord. If you have been estranged from God, I invite you to come back and ask God to forgive you and heal your relationship with Himself. God bless you and Merry Christmas.
Betty

WHAT CHILD IS THIS?

Version 1

Words: William Chatterton Dix, 1865.
These modified stanzas are from Dix' poem The Manger Throne.
There is also a Dix carol called The Manger Throne (Alternate Title: Like Silver Lamps In A Distant Shrine)

Music: "Greensleeves," 16th Century English melody
Arranged by Sir John Stainer
MIDI / Noteworthy Composer / PDF
Meter: 8 7 8 7

Source: Henry Ramsden Bramley and John Stainer, Christmas Carols New and Old, First Series (London: Novello, Ewer & Co., 1871), Carol #14

1. What Child is this who, laid to rest
On Mary's lap is sleeping?
Whom Angels greet with anthems sweet,
While shepherds watch are keeping?

This, this is Christ the King,
Whom shepherds guard and Angels sing;
Haste, haste, to bring Him laud,
The Babe, the Son of Mary.

2. Why lies He in such mean estate,
Where ox and *** are feeding?
Good Christians, fear, for sinners here
The silent Word is pleading.

Nails, spear shall pierce Him through,
The cross be borne for me, for you.
Hail, hail the Word made flesh,
The Babe, the Son of Mary.

3. So bring Him incense, gold and myrrh,
Come peasant, king to own Him;
The King of kings salvation brings,
Let loving hearts enthrone Him.

Raise, raise a song on high,
The virgin sings her lullaby.
Joy, joy for Christ is born,
The Babe, the Son of Mary.

Sheet Music by Dix from Henry Ramsden Bramley and John Stainer, Christmas Carols New and Old (London: Novello, Ewer & Co., ca 1871)

Good Afternoon and Happy Friday

Today would have been mom and dad's Wedding Anniversary. As human we mark days for observing, Birthdays, Weddings, time at work, etc. We also have spiritual milestones, when we got saved, baptized, and others that we do not even realize, like growing spiritually. Our spiritual health is not a straight line but we have times we have lost progress and then times of progress. On our spiritual journey all steps and loses are important. Through times where we have fallen back steps, we learn from them. When we trust in God, nothing is wasted. When we learn to keep our eyes on Jesus and our trust in God, we can take the bad and the good and still praise the Name of Jesus.

This is the time of the year when we appreciate family and often blessed to see family we only see occasionally. We remember family who have gone on to Heaven and rejoice knowing they are free from troubles and pain. We look forward to our family reunion in Heaven. Hold tight those you still have with you. None of us know what the New Year will bring but we know that God is still on His throne and we can lay all of our fears at His feet.

Good Afternoon and Happy Thursday,

As we get closer to Sunday, Christmas Day are your thoughts becoming more about Jesus? If not do not feel alone. Christmas brings sad and happy thoughts. Sadness for our loved ones who have left this world and happy thoughts about family we are looking forward to seeing. Yet, we should take the time to praise our Lord and Savior, Jesus for the greatest gift ever given to mankind: salvation. A thankful heart is the best gift we can give God.

During this busy time of the year, take time to praise and worship God, to eat regularly, and to get proper rest. Too often we light the candle at both ends and by Christmas Day we are over tired and feel sickly. Enjoy the family you have with you and thank God for them. Families are a blessing from God.

Have a blessed day today and rejoice in this wonderful time of the year.

CLOVERTON LYRICS

(originally by Leonard Cohen)

I've heard about this baby boy
Who's come to earth to bring us joy
And I just want to sing this song to you
It goes like this, the fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
With every breath I'm singing Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

A couple came to Bethlehem
Expecting child, they searched the inn
To find a place for You were coming soon
There was no room for them to stay
So in a manger filled with hay
God's only Son was born, oh Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

The shepherds left their flocks by night
To see this baby wrapped in light
A host of angels led them all to You
It was just as the angels said
You'll find Him in a manger bed
Immanuel and Savior, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

A star shown bright up in the east
To Bethlehem, the wisemen three
Came many miles and journeyed long for You
And to the place at which You were
Their frankincense and gold and myrrh
They gave to You and cried out Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

I know You came to rescue me
This baby boy would grow to be
A man and one day die for me and you
My sins would drive the nails in You
That rugged cross was my cross, too
Still every breath You drew was Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Good Morning and Happy Wednesday,

All of us have mornings when we seem to be hit on the head by something as soon we get out of the bed. What do we do in those times? We pray to our Heavenly Father for relief and then we begin to sing praises to God. This morning I did that and I was blessed to see a tiny bird at the feeder. This was indeed a blessing to me. God knows what gives you joy and your moments of joy will come in what pleases you. God is our Heavenly Father and He cares about our needs and He is sorrowful about what makes us sad.

As you go about your day, you will come across others who need a friendly smile or a word of encouragement. There is no better time then the Christmas season to spread joy to others. It is also a hard season to do so, because we ourselves can be over burden with chores for the Holidays. If we take the time to offer moments of joy to others, then God will reward us with more joy. It is like a fountain that's constantly refilling itself. If we do not share joy with others our fountain becomes cloudy and smelly. If we have to give from the fountain to make room for the new fresh water. Be blessed my friend and then share your blessing with others.

Good Morning and Happy Saturday,

Yesterday, was a blessed day for our family. We got to see our son marry a Christian young lady. We are so happy to welcome Sarah into our family. Before this wonderful day was years of frustration for our son. We seen him suffer and often doubtful that he would ever meet the young lady for him. He often wondered why God did not answer his prayer. The truth is, through those years God was answering his prayers. The time waiting was not wasted at all. God was preparing Jeff spiritually for Sarah and God was preparing Sarah for him.

This can be true for many request we have for God. We made not see the work in process, as we live those moments, but when we look back on our lives we realize that God has been working all alone. Those times of waiting are often frustrating and we can become angry or sad that our prayers do not seem to be answered. God wants us to wait for our answer in patience and praising Him as we wait. Faith allows us to believe in the answer long before the answer comes. Remember God's perfect plan is always so much better then our plans.

The greatest gift mankind ever received, was many many years in coming. Many Jewish people lost faith that their Savior would ever come. It maybe the lost in faith is what caused them not to recognize Jesus when He came. As Christians, let us always be ready for Jesus return for us with hope and trust in God. Sadly like the Jewish people, some Christians have lost faith that Jesus is coming back for His people. It pleases God for us to be longing for His return.

2 Timothy 4:8King James Version (KJV)

8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Have a blessed day!

Good Afternoon and Happy Thursday,

Oh little town of Bethlehem, how still we see thee lie
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep the silent stars go by
Yet in thy dark streets shineth, the everlasting light
The hopes and fears of all the years are met in thee tonight.

For Christ is born of Mary, and gathered all above
While mortals sleep the angels keep their watch of wondering love
Oh morning stars together, proclaim thy holy birth.
And praises sing to God the king, and peace to men on earth.
Oh little town of Bethlehem, how still we see thee lie
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep the silent stars go by
Yet in thy dark streets shineth, the everlasting light
The hopes and fears of all the years are met in thee tonight.

Just as Jesus was born through a young unassuming young lady, God chose a quint little town. Bethlehem was probably known by the people of Israel at that time but not likely the place to travel to for vacation. Yet, God chose this town to be the birthplace for the greatest gift of all. God often places His children in small unassuming places. If the Pastor of a small Church only sees the Church as a steeping stone to a bigger Church, chances are he will not invest his heart into the people of the Church. This goes for secular jobs, too. If you think the people you work with are beneath you, you will not learn to love and care for them and your testimony will be worthless. There is a saying that says bloom in whatever garden, the Lord places you in. In others words, be loving and kind toward the people in the garden with you. You may not be working at your "dream" job, but allow God to use you in the joy you are in. Shine for Jesus where ever you are.

I hope you are enjoying the Christmas decorations around your town and in your home. Christmas is such a wonderful time of the year. Troubles still come this time of year but it does seem that this time of the year we feel a little less encumbered by them. Be blessed my friend and may God bless you and your family.

Good Morning and Happy Wednesday

"Little Baby, pa rum pum pum pum
I am a poor boy too, pa rum pum pum pum
I have no gift to bring, pa rum pum pum pum
That's fit to give a king, pa rum pum pum
rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum,"

Read more: Christmas Song - Little Drummer Boy Lyrics | MetroLyrics

When we look at what Jesus did for us, we realize that we have nothing to give Jesus that is worthy of His majesty and glory. Yet, God is not asking for riches but a gift from our heart that is cheerfully and freely given. When give a gift begrudgingly, the gift is tainted. If your child walk in and said with an angry tone:
"Here is your Christmas gift". The gift would mean nothing to us but the simplest gift made from a young child in love, we cherish. When our adult children take the time to know what we need or what is important to us that gift value is priceless. Let us give of our selves to God out of love and with a cheerful heart.

When we go the mall we will see many Christmas trees. Trees with perfect ornaments and perfectly coronated, yet these trees do not compete with our tree that we put together with ornaments we have saved for years. We can look at our tree and see memories with our ornaments. Like our tree, we are special to God. He can look at us and remember the times we fell, but got back up to fight another day. He sees our heart that is filled with love for God. Our lives are filled with imperfection and yet it is the imperfections that make us special to God.

Good Morning and Happy Monday,

Luke 2:8-19King James Version (KJV)

8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.

16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.

17 And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.

18 And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.

19 But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.

King James Version (KJV)

In those days, Shepherds were considered the lowly of people. Yet the angels did not announce the birth of Jesus to the elite, but to shepherds. Just as Jesus was born in a stable and not in the home of a King or rich Nobleman, God chose to announce the birth of His Son to simple Shepherds. In the same way the Gospel is simple so that even young children can be saved, yet often the highly intelligent, reject the Gospel because their pride does not allowed them to believe in the simple faith of Salvation. It is not that God does not love highly educated people, He does. Salvation is given to us when we accept Jesus in simple faith as a young child.

Matthew 18:3King James Version (KJV)

3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

This time of year often brings out the child in adults, as they enjoy the Christmas spirit at work, in the market place and in their own home. This is a good time of the year to share the love of Christ when people are in a more accepting and childlike attitude. It is also a good time of year for us to humble ourselves and in childlike faith seek God's guidance for our lives.

Good Morning and Blessed Sunday,

"Joy to the World the Lord Has Come"

A simple statement and and a simple song and yet the truth of the song has opened the door of Heaven to all who would accept. How often do we rejoice in this knowledge? How often do we praise God for such a precious gift that no amount of Gold or silver could purchase? The longer we have been a Christian the easier it is to become complacent and take for granted the gift that cost God so very much. How sad! Let us take this Christmas time to remember we were bought with a price. Our salvation is more precious than we can understand as mortals.

Have a blessed day and share the love of Christ with those you come in contact today.

Good Morning and Happy Saturday,

Every where we go, we are seeing Christmas decorations. We are getting in that season when people are nicer to one another. The last couple of days I have been several cars behind at a red light and when the light turned green and the driver did not move, no one blared their horns. Christmas does seem to bring out the best in people. Sadly, come next year the feeling of kindness will soon past. Impatience and anger seems to be an accessory that comes with the car. I admit I am guilty myself. I hate it when I am on the freeway and the driver in front of me goes from 10 over to 10 under. This makes it impossible to set my cruise control. I quickly find self fussing and mumbling unkind things to the driver of the other car. Yet the other driver doesn't hear me and all I do is upset my passenger my hubby. Even if we don't say a word, we can be smarting off in our head. We know it's wrong and yet we can easily fall into this habit of being critical and unkind when we are on the road. Of course we tell ourselves that we are not the worse and that is true. We live in a time that road rage is well know. Sadly, people have been injured and killed over road rage. There is not a quick fix for this. As Christians we need to pray before we get in the car and rebuke ourselves when we allow our temper to rule our actions and thoughts.

As we enjoy the Christmas decorations, songs and goodies, let us remember that we can rejoice at the gift of Christmas all year long. Christ birth open the door for Him to take on a human body to live among mankind and to die for salvation to all who would willing accept Him. His gift is available to all who are willing to accept His gift. Sadly, some out of self pride, will not humble themselves to accept this precious gift. Those who humble themselves as a little child and bow before our Lord and Savior will spend eternity in Heaven. What a wonderful gift we can receive because of God's great love for us. As we enjoy this beautiful season, let us to remember to pray for salvation for our loved ones and friends.

Good Morning and Happy Friday,

Deuteronomy 3:28
But charge Joshua, and encourage him, and strengthen him: for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which thou shalt see.

1 Samuel 30:6
And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.

Encouragement is a gift from God that is needed at this time. Not only do we need to encourage ourselves in the Lord, as David did, but we need to go about encouraging fellow believers. This time of year the Christmas lights are out and everything looks so joyful. Behind smiling faces, can be a heavy heart. There are many things that can cause sadness this season. Estrangement between children and parents makes Christmas harder. The first Christmas after the death of a loved one is filled sadness and depression. Wife's and husbands who have a mate fighting for our Country not only have the stress of doing all the work themselves but of trying to comfort their children while their own hearts are broken. We can help by offering a word of hope and asking if we can pray for them. We can be the light that shines in their time of darkness.

It is easy to be so rushed and busy that we fail to really notice people. Let us make the effort to see hurting people and be that gift of compassion that they need. Pray that we do not react in anger when someone is sharp with us. Instead be compassionate and encourage them. When we ourselves feel down let us encourage ourselves, in the Lord.

Taking a walk outside or if it is too cold, walk around inside a mall where you can enjoy the pretty decorations and get into the spirit of Christmas. Remember that this time of the year we rejoice in the birth of our Lord Jesus and praise His Name of the greatest gift of all our Lord and Savior.

Good Morning and Happy Wednesday,

"Heavenly Father, help me to grow in gentleness and patience toward others. Show me how to love others, even when we may have differences." Marvin Williams.

These days patience and gentleness is rare, sadly, even among, Christians. I do not believe we set out in the morning with the intention of treating people harshly and unkind, but as we like to say "life happens". This is not how our Heavenly Father wants His children to treat others. We want to be a witness for Christ, but sadly our witness is opposite of what want it to be. Instead of sharing the love of Jesus with those we meet during our day, we make people think that Christians are mean and unkind by our actions and sharp words. When we do react unkindly, make a point of going back to that person and apologize. I have had to do so at Walmart when I reacted to the checker unkindly. Not only will you make the person feel better but you humble yourself. Pray each day that God will help you treat others through out the day with gentleness and kindness. When someone snaps at you or is rude take a moment before you react. Say a little pray and then react in the love of Jesus. Let us live our lives in a way that brings honor to our Lord and Savior.

Galatians 5:22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

Colossians 3:12Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

Have a blessed day today.

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday

"Forgive me, Lord, when I bring anger into a situation. Soften my heart and help me use my words to encourage others." (David Roper)

Have you ever forgiven someone and then felt a measure of satisfaction when it looked like to us that God was chastising them for sinning against us? Is it true forgiveness if we can take pleasure for their pain? Is our heart not hardened when we feel this way? What is the answer to our this? First of all seek forgiveness from God. Then ask God to soften our hearts. We should never take pleasure in the suffering of others. We can all be guilty of this. There are even videos on YouTube, where we see someone do something wrong and then immediately get paid back and I admit I have laughed at a few. One was a man who was upset because the cat was in his place and grabbed the cat and threw him to the floor and kicked him. The man is sitting on a love seat in front of the stairwell. On the stairs is potted plants. The cat goes to one above his head and knocks the pot on the man's head. I admit my response was "served him right". Yet as Christians, we are to have compassionate hearts towards others. It is not much compassion if we are laughing at others misfortune. Let us avoid the attitude of 'serves him right" and pray more for others who are hurting. How wonderful if the world could come to see us as compassionate people!

Have a blessed day and look for your little diamonds of joy through out your day. Share the sunshine of God's love with everyone you come in contact with. One of mine was watching a tiny bird eat, yesterday.

Good Morning and Happy Monday,

This time of year we begin to see Christmas lights everywhere. I love Christmas and enjoy the beautiful lights. We must remind ourselves that Christmas is more the Christmas trees and twinkled lights. Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. It is correct to celebrate His birth, because His birth into a sinful world opened the door for Jesus to live and walk among men of sin, so that He could give His life a ransom for our sins. Even His birth was a sacrifice. He gave up His throne to live and walk among mankind for 33 years. This is a great time of the year to appreciate God's sacrifice and to praise God for the sacrifice of the blood of Jesus.

As we give gifts to one another let us not forget the homeless and the orphans. We can pray that God will open our eyes to be a finical blessing to someone in need. We cannot help everyone but if we help one person in need, we have made a difference in the Name of Christ.

Good Morning and Blessed Sunday,

2 Corinthians 12:8-10English Standard Version (ESV)

8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. 9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

There are burdens that God assigns to carry that are for a short time and there are those we carry for many years. Those we carry for many years can wear us down and if we do not careful we can lose hope. Imagine every morning waking up to having to pick up and carry a backpack with 50 lbs of weight all day. Each night when you lay the bag down there is a sinking in our heart, knowing the next morning we have to carry it again. We know that God is capable of removing this weight from us, yet God chooses not to. More then that we do not even have a date when to look forward to when this weight will be gone. We know we will find relief in Heaven, but the day to day struggle is still with us. Yet just as God assured Paul that God's grace was sufficient for him, God is telling us the same. He will make us strong through our weaknesses. We may not have a date when the struggle will be over, but we can rejoice in knowing that victory will come to pass. The answer is not denying the struggle. The answer is taking our struggle and our questions to God. When we are overcome with fatigue, cry out to God for strength. When the pain becomes unbearable, seek relief from God. Begin to praise God and rejoice in the victory ahead! Praise His Holy Name! We can be revived by praising God in the midst of the struggle and pain.

Have a blessed day and seek God for comfort and peace of heart and mind.

Good Morning and Happy Saturday,

We got much needed rain last night. Unfortunately I did not realize that SweetPea, one of my cats, had slipped out when the dog went out. She had a miserable night, I am sure. We as Christians can get ourselves in trouble by getting into places that we don't belong, spending to much time with people who are a bad influence on us and not enough time with fellow believers. While we need to share Christ with unbelievers, if we spend too much time with unbelievers, we began to take on their habits, attitudes, and can even pick up their way of talking. My cat is sleeping with her daughter under the Christmas tree. When we do get in trouble, our Heavenly Father welcomes us back with open arms and He comforts us. There are consequences to getting in to trouble but even God's discipline is done out of love.

Have a blessed day and be safe.

Good Morning and Happy Friday,

We do not always wake up perky and sharp. There are days we drag out of bed and feel like we are thinking with a half of a brain. When this happens we can know with a certainty that God is with us even though we may not feel His presence. We all have our bad days but God is always the one who will guide us and lead us into overcoming trials and obstacles in our lives. Many of us deal with chronic illnesses and with that comes bad days, but do not allow your faith in God to lesson. Remember God never changes. He is the same powerful God everyday. When we feel weak, we can ask for strength. When we are in pain, we can ask God to comfort and sustain us. Talk to yourself and remind yourself that you are indwelled with the Holy Spirit. The song says "Where does my help come from? And answers "My help comes from the Lord, maker of Heaven and earth!" Rejoice my friend, in the knowledge that our Heavenly Father is with you and we can seek His help anytime and anywhere.

We are entering in the busy season. Try to remember to eat, drink, and rest regularly. Sometimes we can forget to take care of ourselves when we are so busy. Have a blessed day.
Betty

More birds are coming. For the first time since our move, I had to refill the bird feeders.

Good Morning and Happy Wednesday,

I have heard Preachers and Teachers talk about the dash on a gravestone. How we have a day we are born and a day we will die. The dash in between being our life. Yet it seems that dash should be a circle to me. Time time again, we find ourselves going back through a trial that we thought we had beaten years before. We find ourselves asking God, " why am I here again". I do not know the answer. We can feel like we have been hit by a ball that came from out of nowhere. The shock of it can knock us off our feet and make us feel shaken. This is the time to remind us that we still have God. He has not left us nor forsaken us. He will see us through this trial. There is a peace from letting go of our stress and keeping our trust in God. Reminding ourselves that God has a reason to have us revisit a trial, helps. Maybe we were unable to come to a complete conclusion last time but now we are spiritually stronger and God is giving us a chance to finish and complete what was started years ago. Letting go of our fears and trusting in God can bring a victory and we can then move on.

I saw my GI doctor yesterday and he has me starting a new group of medication to get the colitis under control. We are all fighting battles in our lives: some physical, some emotional, and some spiritual. Remembering that we are not on the battlefield alone can being us comfort. It will not be long until all of our battles are over and God will tell Jesus to go and get His children. This life is temporary and when we remind ourselves of that we can be of good cheer, knowing this soon will pass. Live each day seeking to serve God and to reach out to others with love and compassion. Be a willing servant of God. There will be tears and frustration in this life but one day we will be rejoicing in Heaven and no one can take that victory away from us.
Betty

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday,

grat·i·tude
[ˈɡradəˌt(y)o͞od]
javascript:void(0)
NOUN
1. the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness:
2. "she expressed her gratitude to the committee for their support"
3. synonyms: 3. gratefulness · 3. thankfulness · 3. thanks · 3. appreciation ·
[more]

Gratitude is an attitude and a choice. We can choose to be grateful for what we have. We can choose to dwell on what we have instead of grieving over what we do not have. For even the very rich can look around and see someone with something that do not have. The most precious gifts cannot be bought with money. You cannot buy a family to love you. You cannot buy the respect of others. Most of all, all the riches on this world cannot buy eternity in Heaven. True joy comes from loving our Heavenly Father and having an attitude of gratefulness for what we have. As we look forward to Christmas, let us have an attitude of gratitude for our Savior who chose to come to this earth to live as a man and die for our sins. Salvation is not cheap. God paid an enormous gift to buy salvation for us. Let us not be guilty of taking such a precious gift for granted. Instead each day lift up praises to our Savior and Lord for His great love for us.

Live your life in gratefulness and a spirit of appreciation for what you have. Pray for others that you come in contact through out your day.

Good Morning and Happy Monday,

I had a long night dealing with issues from colitis. I got up and fed the pets and I have come back to bed, with two of my pets. We all have those nights when we cannot sleep. Sometimes it is because we are ill and other times it is stress. It is so sweet to talk to Jesus and tell Him our concerns and know without a doubt that He is listening. There such a peace that fills our hearts even in the midst of pain and fears. We know we can trust God in all circumstances. We can use those times we cannot sleep, to pray for others. Today as you go about your day pray for your lost loved ones. Seek the guidance of God in your life.

Good Morning and Blessed Sunday,

I love to listen to Christian music as I get ready for Church. It gets you warmed up for Church. I think we all have come to Church at least a few times that we are so wound so tight that it takes awhile to relax. The kids are taking their time getting dressed and hubby decides to complain about something that happened a week ago and we can barely remember the circumstances. Ah, but when do relax and allow God's Spirit to flow through us our problems seem to grow faint and our heart is regenerated by God's love for us. It is wonderful to spend time in the house of God with fellow believers.

I hope those who work were able to rest this week and are ready to go back to work tomorrow with a refreshed body and heart. Remember God will be with you and He is our comforter and our substainer. We can depend on God through all our circumstances to be with us and to guide us.

Have a blessed week.

Good Morning and Happy Saturday,

Now that Thanksgiving Day has passed, let us work on having a thankful attitude for the rest of the year. Not a begrudging of giving thanks for what you have but a genuine spirit of Thanksgiving in our heart. I have seen on video the joy that comes to a village when a well is dug and people are able to walk from their home and get fresh water for the first time. Their joy is not fake nor is their gratitude forced. It is real thankfulness. Here in America and Europe we have so much to be thankful for. The reality is that we are probably the least appreciative people on this earth.

As we go about our day to day, let us look for ways to share God's love with others. A simple kind word or a smile giving in the market place can make a difference to a person who has dealt with angry and bitter people. Let us lay aside the spirit of anger and bitterness and pray for a spirit of kindness and joy that will overflow out of our hearts. Have a blessed day.
Betty
I put up my tree yesterday and plan on putting the ornaments on the tree today. I love Christmas but more important is what Christmas means to us children of God

Good Morning and Happy Thanksgiving,

We are fixing to leave to go eat lunch with our daughter. I pray that you have someone to break bread with today. Thanksgiving is a great day to be reminded of all the many things God has done in our lives and the lives of our families. Hopefully everyone will get the chance to say something they are thankful as families gather around the table together. Sharing your gratitude is an encouragement to others and their sharing can encourage us.

Remember to pray for those who this day will bring pain. Recent loss of loved ones is hard and an empty chair at the table is a reminder of your loss. If you have suffered a loss of a loved one, remember it will not be long until we join them in Heaven. That family reunion is going to be bigger then we can even imagine in our minds.

Hope you have lots of good food. May God bless you and your family.
Betty

Good Morning and Happy Wednesday

My sister and nephew are waiting for the ambulance to take him to another hospital for a procedure that was supposed to be done 3 hours ago.   It seems we spend a lot of time waiting in this life.  For some waiting is not a big deal but for others like me sitting and waiting drives me crazy.   The VA is notorious for having you get there early and wait all day.  The men and women call it the hurry up and wait thing.    We also have periods of waiting on God.   Sometimes it is waiting for our prayer to be answered.  Sometimes we are waiting for God to show us what the next step in our lives is suppose to be.  Sometimes it is waiting for God to show us His will.   It is easy to become frustrated and get in a rush.  This can cause us to become impatient and step out of God's will.   If we are not careful we can get angry and have an attitude problem towards God.

What does God want us to do in those periods of waiting.  There could be many things.  Maybe He wants us to physically rest before we go to the next plan for our lives.  Maybe God is preparing the way ahead for us.  Whatever the waiting period is for, there are things we can be doing during that time of waiting.   First and first most be praying.  Whether we are waiting for a go ahead from God to change our jobs or  we are waiting to take up a new position at Church, prayer is never wasted and can be helpful to our physical and spiritual being.  Embrace the waiting and let go of resentment.  Seeking God's face to find out what God wants to do in your life during the waiting period, is a great way to use the waiting time.   Remember, a period of waiting does not mean that God has forgotten you.

Prayers for my sister (Beverly) and my nephew (Ray) are very much appreciated.  Have a blessed day.

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday,

One of the first things I saw when I turned on my computer was a news article about Kayne being hospitalized. The article said that Kayne said that he is being attacked spiritually. I agree with him. I do believe he is under a spiritual attack. This is the time for us Christians to be praying for him. Praying that through all the noises in his head from Satan and his demons , that he will hear the voice of God calling out to him. It is often when we reach rock bottom that we lay aside our pride and we open our hearts and ears to the soft voice of Jesus calling out to us.
I had to get up early for a Doctor's appointment. I am not a morning person but the crisp cool air is refreshing but it is so early that I do not hear any bird sounds. Maybe the early bird got the worm and went back to bed. Someting I would like to do at the moment. HeHe. When I first get up I do like the silence of being awake and seeking God before the noises of the day begin.

I would appreciate your prayers for my nephew Ray, today. He has to decide whether to allow the Doctor to remove his big toe or just do a partial amputation. He is diabetic and he needs to make the right decision. When we make the decisions like this we are blessed as Christians to know that God will guide us in the right direction. Pray for Ray and the Doctor and of course his mom, Beverly. We moms know that having our children ill is hard for us. Have a blessed day.

Good Morning and Happy Monday,

This morning I put the dog in the back yard. The side and back of the fence is wooden but the front is metal. It looks neat, but my dachshund, can get out. We zipped tied plastic to the fence but she still finds a way out. To top the morning off she runs the fence barking at dogs much bigger then her. At Jeff's place she got through the fence and got in a scuffle with the neighbors two dogs and got some minor injuries before me and the neighbor could get her away from the bigger dogs. Did she learn her lesson? No! She still aggravates other dogs.

This got me to thinking, about how many times God gets us out of trouble, only to have us run back in to the same trouble. Sometimes our mouth gets us in trouble. Sometimes it is are reaction to something we did not like, that others did. Other times it is actions that we know we should not be doing. Yet, God is so loving to save us time and time again, from ourselves. Surely, He must be shaking His head at our stubbornness.

God wants us to be wise and not step in the same traps time and time again. Have you ever gone through a trial more then once? You tell yourself "please learn the lesson, so I do not have to face this again", but somehow the lesson is not learned and you find yourself back in the same trial again and again. It is heartbreaking and physically and emotionally exhausting to have to go through the same trial over and over again. But like my dog, we can be stubborn.

We can start today seeking to be less stubborn and more willing to listen to our Master and seek to be willing to allow Him to guide us. We do not have to be control freaks and allow God to be our navigator.
His will is always the best.

Betty

Good Morning and Blessed Sunday,
This begins Thanksgiving week. We have so many things to be thankful for. Many things we have had all our lives and we take them for granted. A bed for sleep, food on the table, and safety, are things that many people around the world do not have. It is not about feeling guilty that we have them and others do not. It is about being grateful for what we do have. To often we are obsessed with what we do not have. We are easily drawn to what others have that we do not have. As I have gotten older, I have come to realize that it doesn't take a lot to make me happy. Paul said to be content in whatever circumstances we are in. I am far from that point but I am more grateful for what I have, then in my younger days. Let us worship God today in a Spirit of Thanksgiving.

As we deal with others, let us have a caring heart and compassion on those around us. No one wants a fake smile or a pretend to care attitude shown to them. We should pray to have a heart of compassion and love for others. Let God's light shine out of us to others. When we walk away from others let us leave them with a smile and not relief that we have taken our bad attitudes in another direction. True joy comes from a heart that loves God and the more we love God the more joy will be reflected through us to others. This not giddiness and silliness but a peaceful joy that encourages everyone we touch. Even when we are feeling poorly we can ask Jesus to shine through us.

May you and your family be blessed and protected by our Lord Jesus Christ.

Betty

Good Morning and Happy Saturday,

Luke 5:17-39New Life Version (NLV)
Jesus Heals a Man Let Down through the Roof of a House
17 On one of the days while Jesus was teaching, some proud religious law-keepers and teachers of the Law were sitting by Him. They had come from every town in the countries of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem. The power of the Lord was there to heal them. 18 Some men took a man who was not able to move his body to Jesus. He was carried on a bed. They looked for a way to take the man into the house where Jesus was. 19 But they could not find a way to take him in because of so many people. They made a hole in the roof over where Jesus stood. Then they let the bed with the sick man on it down before Jesus. 20 When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the man, “Friend, your sins are forgiven.”
21 The teachers of the Law and the proud religious law-keepers thought to themselves, “Who is this Man Who speaks as if He is God? Who can forgive sins but God only?” 22 Jesus knew what they were thinking. He said to them, “Why do you think this way in your hearts? 23 Which is easier to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or, ‘Get up and walk’?
24 “So that you may know the Son of Man has the right and the power on earth to forgive sins,” He said to the man who could not move his body, “I say to you, get up. Take your bed and go to your home.” 25 At once the sick man got up in front of them. He took his bed and went to his home thanking God. 26 All those who were there were surprised and gave thanks to God, saying, “We have seen very special things today.”

There have been many sermons on this Scripture, analyzing why Jesus chose to save the man's soul first before healing him. One thing we can take from this, is the crowd was more concerned about his healing then his salvation. If a crippled man was in Church and Jesus appeared in the room and told the man he was saved from His sins, our reaction may be like the crowd. As human beings we see healing as being more important then salvation. We are prone to be more concerned about the present then eternity. Jesus sees the future and eternity is more important then the present. As mankind who runs on clocks and calenders we cannot see completely the importance of eternity. We are not able to completely grasp eternity.

1 Peter 1:24New King James Version (NKJV)
24 because
“All flesh is as grass,
And all the glory of man[a] as the flower of the grass.
The grass withers,
And its flower falls away

While it is important to take care of our physical health, let us not forget to take care of our spiritual health. Of course we cannot save our selves, but we can make sure our soul is being fed but Bible reading, prayers, and Church attendance.
God bless you and your family,
Betty

Good Morning and Happy Friday,

Many of you are looking forward to the weekend, a I did when I worked. Although it seems that you are busy on the weekends, it is your time and your decision what gets done and what has to wait. It seems a lot of our time is hurry up and wait. You rush like a manic to get the Doctor on time, only to have to wait an hour for him. Your boss once something done immediately, only to let the project sit for weeks. Abraham waited 100 years for the promise of a son to be fulfilled. John the Baptist parents were old when he was born. Waiting on God's plan is not always easy but He has perfect timing. What we do not see is we are growing spiritually as we wait.

For Christians today, we are waiting on the rapture. Sadly many people have given up. God has not forgotten us and soon He will come for us. The delay is only God being merciful for all to have a chance to be saved, but don't become complacent, for Jesus could come for us any day.

Matthew 24:37-39King James Version (KJV)

37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Have a blessed weekend. Have some fun and relaxing time. Share the love of Jesus with those around you

Betty

Good Morning and Happy Thanksgiving,

Next week is Thanksgiving. During the Holidays we can become depressed, missing our loved ones who have gone on before us. I wonder if they are not asking God: How long is it, Lord to you go and get my Family?" Surely He reassures them, just as He reassures us, that it won't be long until He comes for His children. Let us be thankful this year for the family still with us and our many blessings. Give thanks to God that your loved ones in Heaven are free from pain and sickness and are in the very presence of our Heavenly Father.

We do have so many things to be grateful for. Let us start thanking God now and seek to be in a state of gratefulness and appreciation for God through out the Holiday season. Even in the Old Testament, our Heavenly Father was blessed by the praise of His people.

2 Chronicles 20:21King James Version (KJV)21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the Lord, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the Lord; for his mercy endureth for ever.

Sin nging praises by yourself as you drive in the car and doing your work can be a blessing to God and to yourself a your heart is blessed by the goodness of our Lord and Savior.
Be blessed my friend.

I saw a tiny bird in the squirrel feeder this morning. It warmed my heart. Pray for my nephew (Ray). He is in the hospital with infected foot and he has diabetes.

Good Afternoon and Happy Wednesday,

Psalm 29:11King James Version (KJV)11 The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace.

There are times that we feel anything but peaceful. The world seems to be in turmoil and can affect our peace of mind. Some times stress can come from family members and those we love. Even lack of restful sleep can make us feel tense. Yet in the midst of these situations we can find peace for our minds and hearts by walking with Jesus. When we begin to talk to Jesus about our problems, we can find sweet release from stress and aggravation. When we began to pray for others we find ourselves less focused on our problems. Jesus is not a anti-stress pill that we take when we need Him and put Him back in the bottle when we are finished. He our God, our friend, and Savior. He wants to walk with us every day. He wants us to communicate with Him through out the day and not just when we have reached the end of our rope.
Take time to sit and talk with Jesus.

Sitting here petting one of my cats. She loves attention. Animals can be relaxing and can be good for your blood pressure. Of course they can also be entertaining watching the situations they get themselves in. There are people who think that they have not only gotten away with sin but they have somehow gotten the upper hand on God. The Bible says God laughs at these people. They seek to anger God because they are mad at Him, and He is amused just as we would be at a puppy who is trying to scare us. They refuse to admit their sins and repent. They turn away the gift of salvation. This should make us pray more for the lost. As tempting as it is, we should not take joy in knowing that they are on the way to hell. I am not talking about the one who cuts you off on the road. I am talking about evil people who brag about how many abortions they have had. Evil people who take pleasure in torturing and killing others. Even them we should pray for their salvation.

Psalm 2:4King James Version (KJV)4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.

Be blessed and at peace, my friend. Jesus is coming soon. I saw a red bird at Jeff's house yesterday.

We live in a world with so many gadgets that are supposed to make our lives easier. I heard the other day they are coming out with a dishwasher with wifi. Yet, we are probably the most stressed out generation ever. Even us Christians are constantly bombarded with stress. We go to sleep giving our problems, but we wake up to devil tempting us to pick them back up again. Even when we attempt to give them back to God they are still right in our face, troubling our hearts and spirits. If the world didn't have enough issues to concern us, the devil adds health and family problems to our daily concerns. Maybe the hardest concerns are those affecting our loved ones. We often mistakenly think that making ourselves ill worrying about our family is a sign of love. Yes, we should be concerned about the needs of those we love, but we need to take these concerns to Jesus. No amount of stress and worrying on our part will every fix anything. Take your concerns to Jesus and lay them at His feet. When the devil brings them to your mind and he will, pray.

Today is another day for us to be used by God for His glory. A new day to allow the love of Jesus shine through us to others. Pray that God will remove any bitterness from your hearts. Ask God to help you lay aside your worries and shine through you so that you will a bright light shining forth touching everyone you come across today.

Betty

I scared the squirrel this morning when I took the food out for him/her. I didn't see the squirrel to I saw it running as fast as its little legs could move.

Good Morning and Happy Monday,

It's not quite three a.m. , and I am awake and hurting. Not exactly how I wanted be passing the time, this early. Yet, I am blessed. I have medication to ease the pain (hopefully soon). I have a nice cozy place to lay my head. I was also blessed to get colitis at a older age so I am not struggling to take care of young ones or working a job with this disease. It is not a question of looking for the bright side but knowing in the midst of a trial, I still have a lot to be thankful for. Many people think of the show called Pollyanna, who, in the movie always looked for the bright side and the good in everybody. While, the movie was sweet as children of God we do not have to stretch our mind to find something to be thankful for, or get a magnifying glass out to search for the good in people. As Christians, we are indeed blessed every day because Jesus calls us family and His friend. We can remind ourselves that even the most evil person, Jesus died to save their souls. Praying for lost souls, is a privilege and not a chore. Even people we do not know.

Yesterday, I was able to bless someone in need that I did not know. I do not know if he was truly in need or looking for a hand out. We sometimes get the idea that we have to work out the details before we react to need, but Jesus said a cup of water given in His Name will be rewarded. Of course we cannot help everyone and there are times that we feel in our spirit that we should not give to someone. When we do feel in our spirit a tug from God to help a stranger, do so with a cheerful heart. Remember the times that God blessed us in the past by using others.

My friend, I hope at the time that you are sleeping peacefully, but when you have a night where pain keeps you awake, remember that this our temporary home and soon we will going home to Heaven. There will be no pain, no struggles, and no temptations. Along with praising God every day and praying every day, let us keeping looking up for the blessed hope.
Betty
Did not see the squirrel yesterday but the neighbor who shares this duplex bought one of those strobe type lights that shines on trees and on the house and makes it sparkle like tiny Christmas lights outside. It was so pretty.

Hi Betty Louise,

Yes, pruning is an uncomfortable process, isn't it? It makes sense to our mind why God does the pruning, but not to our heart or to our spirit. After all, if one or more of the branches is already bearing fruit, then why would you prune it? The answer of course is so that it will bear *more* fruit. God truly does know what He is doing, but it sure helps to have a bit of comfort from Him while the "pruning" process is taking place! And thank God -- He is the God of all comfort! (2 Corinthians 1:3)

I hope you have a nice day... [Smile]

Good Morning and Happy Saturday,

This morning, I woke up and begin to hurt so I laid back down. Living in this world pain comes with living. Whether it is physical or emotionally. We can even have spiritual pain when God is pruning us. I read a devotion, this morning that talks about how God removes the branches in our lives that are dead and those that are bearing fruits, He prunes. I must admit that to my heart that does not make sense. Yet in my mind it does. At Jeff's house is a beautiful yellow rose. I pruned it one year and in spring it grew much bigger with more roses. The rose bush did not know why I was trimming it. Yet my work on the plant increased her beauty. I am an old lady that doesn't have a green thumb and often kills plants by over or under watering them. Surely we can trust our God to know how to prune us with out killing us. He spoke the world and her contents into existence. I believe it is correct to pray during the pruning process to pray that God will show us mercy and comfort us. When I pruned the rose bush, I talked to her through out the process. We often need reassurance from God when we are being pruned.

There is a lot of strife in the world. Protest and people trying to change the election. When President Obama was elected twice, Republicans were not burning cars and destroying business. It is easy for us to become bitter ourselves at the liberal response. We need to remember that these protester are being influenced by people who are driven by the devil. Politicians and others who have sold their souls to the devil for a little power on earth. We should feel sorry for them for they do not yet realize the price they will pay one day for a little power, for a short time on earth. There are those who are being arrested but it is doubtful the people pulling the strings of the puppets will face justice on earth, but they will one day in eternity.

My brother in-law, AG is in a lot of pain and needs prayer and pray for protection for Steve who is traveling for his job. Of course pray for America and Israel. Always pray for your lost loved ones as this is pleasing to God. Be blessed today, my friend and be prayerful and grateful for your blessings through out the day.
Betty
Seen the squirrel this morning unfortunately so did the dog, who felt it necessary to chase her.

Lar,

Thank you for your encouragement. We lived with our son for three years and he has a big yard and it was not uncommon to see 20 squirrels in his yard. We only have one on a regularly bases and occasionally two. Very little birds, too.

Hi Betty Louise,

Thank you for your many posts on this topic... Your words of encouragement and exhortation in the things of God were appreciated by many people, I am sure. You obeyed what the Word of God says to do in Philippians 4:8, and may the Lord richly bless you for this. I also enjoyed your words about the little "critters" in your yard. These little characters of God's Creation seem to be an encouragement too - and also, evidence of a wise, loving and faithful Creator God.

I hope and pray that the Lord God will continue to uphold you, to give you His grace, and to encourage you in the midst of the many ailments that you face daily.

Good Morning and Happy Wednesday,

The election is over. Time for healing in our Nation. I pray that people who have threatened violence if their Candidate lost, will be convicted. This Nation cannot heal if their are race wars. I did not vote against Hillary because of a dislike of people who look different then me, but because of her stand on abortion. Babies of all races are murdered in the womb. Let us come together as America and strife for peace. I pray that in this time, many will come to Jesus for salvation. Jesus is the only one who can bring peace.

A lot of us stayed up very late last night to watch the election, so be careful at working and driving. May God protect all of you.

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday

Did you vote? We have no right to complain about the election, if we chose not to vote. Now pray for the election. What if our choice doesn't win? We prayerfully accept God's plan. I believe the winner will reflect God's present plan for America. Is God's plan to give America more time to repent or is His plan to judge America? Whatever God's plan, we are living in a time when Christians need to pray more. Whoever wins our Country needs repentance and prayer.

Our hope is in Jesus and not in any person. What ever the outcome of the election, our salvation is secure in Jesus. I read of two people one from each side of the election voicing a desire to commit suicide if their candidate loses the election. No matter who wins, suicide is not the answer. Both of these people need salvation through a Jesus Christ. Keep your head up with your eyes on Jesus. Our future is in Heaven.

My friend remember eternity and while it is proper to cry for America, if Hillary wins, don't give in to depression. Our hope is not in any person, but God.

Be blessed and know we are not alone. Jesus is still with us and has not forsaken His children.

Good Morning and Happy Monday,

I am having one of those mornings. I couldn't get my Daily Bread prodcast to work this morning. The Dentist doesn't want to make me a temporary flapper unless I have almost 3,000 dollars of dental work done and I am not looking forward to a 1 and 1/2 hour drive to the Houston VA for one way. Yet, I am surprisingly calm. It is not because I am normally a calm person. I am a person who tends to go spastic over small things. Yet, I feel relatively peaceful. God is in control and I can put everything in His hands. I can always smile with my mouth closed and God will get us to Houston and back, safely. When we realize that pacing the floor and allowing our emotions to get out of our control doesn't accomplish a thing, we can put our issues in God's hands.

Tomorrow is the election. Please get out and vote for a candidate that does not want to have abortion on demand paid my every tax payer. After you vote, pray for our Country, and pray that God will give you peace of mind and hearts. The reality is, no matter who wins there are rough days ahead for our Country. We can be at peace because we know God has everything under control. Praise His Name and seek His Heavenly peace for yourself and this Country.

Have a wonderful day and pray for yourself and your family. Look for those little diamonds of joy that God brings your way every day. Remind yourself that our future is in Heaven where there is no sin nor corrupt politicans.

Good Morning and Happy Saturday,
Last night was a sleepless night for all of us. The dog barked almost all night and we were both in pain. Yet, I feel blessed today. There is a reason for everything and we do best when we trust God.

1 John 5:14-15New King James Version (NKJV)
Confidence and Compassion in Prayer
14 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.

Today let us lay aside fears and misunderstandings and trust in our Heavenly Father. Pray for those who are impatient and snappy with us. When we return harshness with harshness we only aggravate the situation. Biting our tongue, is hard to do sometimes, but most times is the best. Even when there needs to be a discussion about the problem, it is best to wait till you are calm and the person you are dealing with is calm.
I read yesterday that this election is sending people to the doctor for nerve problems more then any other election. People on both sides of the fence, know that there is alot riding on this election. We must remind ourselves no matter who wins, God is in control. Putting our trust in Him, is the answer. We must remind ourselves of this every day.
