Genesis 2
20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.

Genesis 3
1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

Did Adam give the name serpent to the beast that deceive Eve and Adam or did God give the name serpent?

The serpent was not a beast of the field. The serpent was a manifestation of Satan; The Bible does not say that he was more subtle than any OF the OTHER beasts of the field. It says he was the Serpent had been suble above every beast of the field that God created. The Father God cursed him making him a serpent that crawls on the ground;he had been an angel. So I would say God named the Serpent.
