Lineman is correct.
Do a google search for motherboard processor compatability.
You can find many lists of what processors will work with what mother board.
The modle of your mother board should be printed on it somewhere.

It depends on the motherboard. Is it a socket 775? I think it is the same socket....if it is, it shouldn't be any problems.

can anyone tell me what will happen if you replace a Pentium 4 2.8 GHz with a Pentium 3.4 GHz Processor.
will it hurt or help?
