Hello, Good point.
I notice that there have been some disagreements as to that movie.
But, the factual weapons of torture and pain were well played out and used correctly.
Unlike the idea that it did not cause anything more then minor suffering, that kind of pain, that many hits, would have looked like that during that day and age.
I think, he use the words written by the dear sweet sister, as more a guide line, and a means to convey the image, as there is little as to the events themselves written in the bible about the "Happenings"
It is more a "Gap" filling, to show the reality, then an "Adding to the Scripture".
that is my take on it, at least.
