I agree. My daughter lost everything back with Tropical Storm Allison. Her apartment had water up to the ceiling and her mother-in-law lost their home, also. Fema did not help very much. My daughter got 300 to replace everything for a family of 4. Which did not go far on clothes, not counting all her stuff you take for granted, like towels, dishes, etc were gone. She and her mother-in-law went to the same Church. Their Church did not help them at all. I am proud of my daughter because stayed in Church, but sadly her mother-in-law became bitter and left Church compeletely. We helped as best we could, but were limited because we are on a fixed income. My mom and sister also went through their things and gave them what they could.
Our Church does alot of work, like this. I feel that by paying our tithes, we are apart of all the work our Church does. To me that is the important part of paying tithes. Our little tithes by itself can't do much but combined with a couple hundred families, our Church is able to do many things in Jesus name.
Joanna, you have a great day. betty

it's great that they weren't home when it hit. That's so cool that your church "adopted" them! That's what Christians should do, "adopt" those in need.
Blessings to you all. Shalom, Joanna.

We met the family today that our Church has adopted from New Orleans. It just so happened that the husband was working for three months here for his job and his wife had came for a visit when the hurricane came. They lost everything in New Orleans. Our Church help set them up in an apartment and will be working to meet their needs. Her daughter is going to be going to our Church school. betty

Certainly will keep all hurricane victims in mind during this sad Christmas season for many.

We need to start praying now for all those people left homeless and/or penniless by the hurricanes and natural disaters this year. This will probably be the worst Christmas they have ever experienced.
Most of my family have been able to move back into their homes, but because of damage costs, they will have a very skimpy Christmas this year. There are those, like some of my co-workers, who don't even have homes to go back to.
And of course we need to also pray for those who are unsaved, that they will come to know the true meaning of this glorious season and accept our Messiah as Master and Savior of their lives.
It shouldn't matter when Christ's actual birth occurred. What matters are souls.
Please pray for souls to be won and hearts to be mended this holiday season.
Blessings and Shalom, Joanna.
