"Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
let this blest assurance control,
that Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
and hath shed his own blood for my soul.

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
when sorrows like sea billows roll,
whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say,
it is well, it is well with my soul."

Horatio G. Spafford, 1873

Heavenly Father, have mercy on the soul of young Micah. Take him into your loving arms, and give him rest.

Lord Jesus, grant peace to his family in this hour of unimaginable grief. Remind them every day that they will see him again. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and make it well with their souls.

Praise God!

He must be out of his mind with grief.
It keeps going through my mind, that he must be terrified to drive again. In his pain the people that he would reach out to are those he must be too embarrassed to even look in the eyes. Everyone involved need our prayers. [crying]

Unbearable thought - the family and the whole church community must be going through unimaginable pain for the loss of little Micah. Can we even think what that church member is going through?

Heartfelt prayers going out to all.

Minister's toddler run over in church parking lot
Associated Press

ANDERSON - The 14-month-old son of a minister was killed when a member of his congregation ran over him while leaving a church function, officials said.

Micah Schoessow wandered away from his mother in the Zion Lutheran Church driveway on Sunday afternoon when he was hit, Grimes County Sheriff Don Sowell said.

The church member stopped her sport utility vehicle to chat with the boy's mother, who had been weeding her flower bed near the back of the parsonage. She hit Micah as she drove away.

The boy was pronounced dead about an hour later.

Calling the death a tragic accident, Sowell said no charges will be filed.

Word spread quickly through the small congregation located about 25 miles southeast of College Station. Grief-stricken church members flocked to the Schoessow home on Sunday evening.

"Our church is a very small church family, and everybody was like an aunt or uncle or grandma or grandpa to young Micah," family friend Heather Clark said in today's edition of the Bryan-College Station Eagle.
