What do you mean by public prayer? Are you talking about the closing and opening prayer at Church that one person does out loud? Are you talking about prayer before a meal that is done by one person in the family?

I just realized I will probably not see your answer to next week. We are going to my sister's place for a couple of days. Unlike my daughter, she does not have internet service. She thinks the internet is evil. God willing I will be back Monday.

The idea of public prayer has been debated for years. For reasons that I will not express at this time, I believe that secret prayers to God will accomplish more good.
Unfortunately, centuries of tradition carries more weight than my arguments -- even though I always say, "Use your Bible to support or refute me." Another old saying of mine in regard to the Bible: "Read it before you misquote it."
