quote:
Jesus said.

" If you are angry with someone you are in danger of going to hell ". Matthew 5:22

Does this mean, if we literally become angry and do not let go of our anger , we will be damned to eternity in hell ?

No ! If you are saved , that is.
If you believe that Christ sent His Son
as payment for our sins.
When you are walking as you should through life.
You will not be doing that.
Unless you do not believe and do not have faith.
God know's what is in your heart.

--------------------
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
[ WARNING: EXPOSURE TO THE SON MAY PREVENT BURNING. ]

Murder begins with anger. This does not mean every one who becomes angry will kill, but unchecked anger can grow into bitterness. We can hate someone with a passion and not commit murder but when hate over comes us, we are in trouble. Bitterness is like a cancer, it eats us up.
There is also a verse that says to be angry but sin, not.
Anger left unchecked can indeed destroy a person. As the Lord's Prayers says for God to forgive us as we forgive others, if we cannot forgive someone, how can we seek forgiveness for ourselves?
There is a freedom that comes from letting go of anger and putting the person who hurt us deeply in God's hands.

Luk 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
