Saved&Forgiven: When we are born again we are indwelled by HIS Holy Spirit and the new creature that we become is joined with Christ...we are now a part of HIS body...the church.

Church is not a where but a whom. Not a place but a people. You and I are the church, if you are born again.

So I ask you...What hand is anygood without an arm or what leg without a foot or any without a mouth?

God has made us to be parts of ONE body...Christ's Body...the church. Going to a church building to worship and fellowship and learn and pray, will not save any....not going will not condemn any.

Christ is the most important thing...Are you born again? Are you saved? Is HE your saviour? That is first and formost.

BUT, the scripture says that we are not to forsake the assembling of the body. THat means that God when he saved you made you to be just exactly the part that was needed in the body in your local area..... if you are not involved with other Christians in assembly as a body then the body is missing somethng.... you. And you are like a foot trying to walk without a leg. God designed us ....HIS church to fit together perfectly that we can minister HIS love to the body, lifting each other up encouraging each other, helping each other, rebuking each other, holding each otheer accountible etc... We are meant by divine design to function TOGETHER many parts making ONE body. SO meeting together is important to the church and it is important to you. God did not make us to be Lone Ranger Christians.

Ephesians 4:16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

As to keeping the Sabbath HOLY... The Sabbath is HOLY! In the days of the OT saints, the Sabbath Rest was given to men by God to teach them a spiritual priciple of rest and trust in GOD to provide for our needs. On the Sabbath day, men lived for God, their thoughts and activities were entirely focused on God....on worshiping HIM, serving HIM. They RESTED from their own labor of serving self, earning a living, toiling in the ground etc..

For the Born again Christian, Christ is our Sabbath Rest....every day we live in the rest of the Sabbath, Christ. Every day is HOLY unto HIM...to LIVE is Christ we say. We do not concern ourselves with what we shall eat or drink or wear we seek FIRST HIS Kingdom knowing that all these things are added unto us because GOD supplies ALL our needs.

So whether you meet with the Body of Christ on Saturday, which is the Sabbath day, or whether we meet together on Wednesday....it matters not, for every day is a day lived unto HIM.

We are resting, because we are resting in HIM. We no longer labor and do the works of and in our flesh, so there is nothing to rest from.

Hebrews 4:10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

Hebrews 4:11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

So, in summary....does a Christian HAVE to go to church and keep the Sabbath rest.

The born again Christian is the church and is resting in Christ. The only thing the Christian has to do is ABIDE in Christ, but assembling with the other members of the body is profitable to both the body and the part.

First and far most you need to know Jesus Christ. He alone is the way. If you will get to know Jesus, study His word the Bible for yourself the the rest will fall in place.

But if you put your faith in a Church, Pastor, People then all will fall apart.

Keep Jesus NUMBER 1 and you will know what life is all about.

Plow on, plow on...
David

If you mean to be a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ the answer to going to church is "NO". You can keep the Sabbath day holy if you wish without going to church. But keeping the Sabbath or not keeping the Sabbath has no affect on your salvation.

Being a follower of the Lord Jesus and Being a "Christian" (a member of the Christian religion) are not necessarily the same thing.
