this is hard for me to answer, but....
does he have a bible of his own? if not, can you get him one to read?
Tell him to read the bible and write down the things he thinks are wrong, or incorrect. Then if you can't answer his specific questions, post them on here and ask us. There are several people here that have vast knowledge of the Bible and amazing understanding. They could easily answer specific questions.
But a lot of the bible is proven historically accurate. I was raised athiest, but even my father agreed that as a historical document, the bible was quite accurate. We watched the history channel a lot when I was growing up and there were many shows that talked about the historical evidence that proved the bible was accurate.
That is my only suggestion.
Hopefully one of the moderators or other board members will have a better suggestion.
blessings!

I do not think I am advanced enough in my studies to give you a proper answer, so I hope some others will step in soon to help you. I want to commend you on your attempts to witness to your friend though

My friend and I were talking one day and he says to me "my motto is that I do to others as I want done to me." So my response; being me and using Scripture as often as I can with people, was "that comes straight out of the Bible; Luke 6:31 Do to others as you would have them do to you".
He claims that he believes in God, but says the Bible is not real. He says it was written by men and incorrect. While talking about this he began to get angry and I was only able to "throw" out a few facts before I chose to end the conversation...but the catch is: he has never read the Bible.
Any advice/suggestion/help for brining this issue to light without it being a heated debate. (I have been praying for the words/wisdom needed for this friend of mine) Thanks in advance.
