Hi,
I got chills up my spine when I read your post because this has happened to me also, several times actually. It is like you are awake but you cannot move at all and you also feel as if you might smother because you feel as if you won't be able to breathe. I had to literally jerk myself up and yes during that moment I was trying desperately to say "Jesus" and I felt paralyzed but was able and then I was able to move.
There is one time in particular that stands out the most in my mind. I had just been on a terrible drug run (I am a recovering addict) and I went to a women's re-hab center. I was sharing a room with this woman who really gave me the creeps; I think she may have been into some really dark things. Anyway one night I woke up and in the same way was paralyzed only this time I actually heard this woman praying to someone saying " Shut her mouth and keep her still" Even though I had been on drugs and I was not walking with The Lord I knew about Jesus because I had been raised learning about God and my mother was very religious. I then became angry! I knew what she was doing and it made me so angry. I knew that Satan had me and didn't want to let me go and I knew what was happening and in that moment I was able to utter the words "No I am a child of God and you are nothing! You cannot hurt me in anyway and in Jesus' Holy name I rebuke you!" Instantly I was able to move and I sat up and looked at this woman and the look she gave me, the smirk she had on her face tells me she knew that I knew what had happened. I got my things and got out of there quick! I cannot say it was the last bout with drugs because that would be a lie but I will say that The Lord just didn't give up on me and no matter where I was or what I was doing I could FEEL him! Anyway I am so happy he kept me safe and kept calling to me in so many ways because I am clean now and have been for just over a year, not a day goes by that I do not worship him and give him thanks. The things I used to want have fallen away and now the only thing I want is to make Him happy and let other people know how much He loves them! I don't think you have to be doing anything bad to have an experience like that infact I think Satan tries even harder to get to those who love God! You just keep doing what you are doing and know that with Jesus no evil can hurt you!

i want to thank u for all of ur "opinions" christian music is played daily in my house and sermon tapes praises go on daily at my house we all have our opinions bondage is urs and spiritual operssion is urs ive posted this several places and the others places are all the same but these answers are different

This person or persons, should let God show them if their is any thing inside their home or homes, that would cause this attack to be brought agaisnt them. I could very easily be anything from porn to scooby doo.

When this happens, the person must follow the Lord and ask Him what is keeping them in bondage. The Holy Spirit will show you what is holding this person in spiritual bondage. The person should Pray that if their are any curses on them or their house, or a curse set on their family from long ago. They should claim the blood of Jesus on themselves, their homes, and on any curse that maybey over their family from long ago.
I know that the person can be set free. They should start with Genesis 32 all, this chapter is about the importance with wrestling with God to be delivered from any situation. Start with Gen. chp. 25 and end with 32.

Yes, this frightening experience is very common, and Trafield is absoluely correct about spiritual oppression. This happened to me several years ago when I was going through a difficult time in my life. Sometimes the enemy tries to hurt us even more when we're already down. Read the Scriptures (especially before bedtime), pray, listen to Christian tapes, fill your home with praise and worship music, etc. whenever you can. Think about the Lord and pray in your heart during the day too, no matter where you are, and He will prevail. All of these things eliminated the problem for me in short order, and I know they will work for you too if you trust Him. 1John4:4 is so appropriate! ![[youpi]](graemlins/youpi.gif)

It has not happened to me personally, but I have heard this from others. I believe that this may be a demonic attack, and if this is happening to you then you want to take a "spiritual inventory" around your house and of your personal life. There may be something that is opening a door for a demon such as tarot cards, a ouijie(sp?) board, pornographic material, etc. Even reading horoscopes could open a door for an evil spirit, I believe. Sometimes as believers, we try and reach back and bring some things from our "past life" when we were not saved into our current relationship with the Lord and that will not work. If so, get rid of it and seek the Lord in prayer, thanking him for putting a new Spirit in you. And remember,

4You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.
