Patrick Henry gave this famous speech shortly after having witnessed a minister in Virginia being beaten for refusing to obtain a "license" from the king to preach the Word. Three days later they beat the brave GOD fearing minister to death. This man paid the ultimate price for FREEDOM, he shed his blood so that others may grasp the hope of freedom. Sounds like now. There is nothing new under the sun. We need to rise up once again and take back our FREEDOM. TRUTH IS FREEDOM!!! (Actually, there were 12 ministers who were beaten to death by the use of a cat-o’-nine tails. The actual scene could have come from a segment of any man’s worst nightmare. The whip had metal embedded in it, and Patrick Henry talked of seeing the bones of the Minister’s back exposed, and still the man would not accept a license from the King to preach the real King’s Word. Hard for me to imagine the majority of Minister of today's 501c3 Church standing so tall and so strong.)

And Satan roams about as a hungry lion seeing whom he can devour. I agree that God is in control, but Satan is still having a heyday while he gets the chance. We need to warn people about that.

To My Saving Grace, George Orwell wrote a very famous book (used to be on most educational required reading lists...) called 1984, wherein he described a government lovingly (tongue in cheek there, in case you couldn't tell) known as "Big Brother" and the tag line was that "Big brother was watching you." Surveillance and invasion of privacy was the norm, much like in the Soviet era in the former USR.

So much for this thing sunsetting. Why are Americans so willing to give up their freedoms? The terrorists are still going to do what they do and we can't stop them. Cameras caught the four bombers in the London bombings on tape before anything happened. And did it help? No - nobody stopped them. Frankly, I'm tired of being felt up when I want to get on a plane. And if they start doing it when I want to get on the bus, I'm not going to take it anymore.
Did anybody else notice that London had another issue yesterday right before this Act was to be renewed again? Somethings fishy there.
On the George Orwell question - I'm sure you've heard of the book 1984 or the book Animal Farm. He wrote them.

I was stunned when I first read the PA. First of all it is EXTENSIVE as far as Federal law goes, it comprises a huge portion of the 108th session of Congress law book. And if you have the patience to truge through it, it is devastating to American freedom.
George Orwell knew what he was talking about and I am here to tell you its not gonna get any better!

The sad part is all this does nothing for the protection from terrorists but just turns America in a police state.
Now all law abiding citizens are put under tyranny in the "war on terror".

Section 215 of the Patriot Act gives the government the power to do:
1.Order any person or entity to turn over "any tangible things," so long as the FBI specifies that the order is part of an authorized terrorism or intelligence investigation.
2.Obtain personal data, including medical records, without any specific facts connecting those records to a foreign terrorist.
what does this have to do with fighting terrorism?
3.Prohibit doctors and insurance companies from disclosing to their patients that their medical records have been seized by the government.
4.Obtain library and book store records, including lists of books checked out, without any specific facts connecting the records to a foreign agent or terrorist.
5.Obtain private financial records without a court order, and without notification to the person involved.
6.Conduct intelligence investigations of both United States citizens and permanent residents without probable cause, or even reasonable grounds to believe that they are engaged in criminal activity or are agents of a foreign power.
7.Investigate U.S. citizens based in part on their exercise of their First Amendment rights, and non-citizens based solely on their exercise of those rights. (Naturally, decisions about what constitutes "in part" are left to a secret court, meeting secretly.)
Those served with Section 215 orders are prohibited from disclosing that fact to anyone -- even their attorney. (This provision was struck down by a U.S. district court last year.)
Section 213 of PATRIOT, meanwhile, allows federal agents to:
Conduct secret “sneak and peek” searches of your home.
Enter your home or office and seize items for an indefinite period of time, without informing you that a warrant has been issued.
And Section 216 lets the feds:
Seize records that could show the subject lines of your e-mails and the details pf your Web surfing habits.
