My Spirit has been urging me to write this for a few days now and so I must not delay any further.
What we are witnessing on this BBS, and have been for a few weeks, is the apostasy of the Church. The apostasy is happening all around us in people, churches, denominations etc. This should be no surprise to believers because we have God's Word that tells us so. This event must happen in order to pave the way for the antichrist and the second coming of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
The signs of the apostasy are not clear to everyone, we know this because some will be deceived. There are false teachers that are among the believers that appear to do great things yet their message is lacking the True essence of what the Gospel teaches. Salvation, rebirth, repentance, True Scripture...these are missing from the lying lips of false teachers.
Many false teachers today preach a get-rich-quick scheme in which they say all you must to do to gain wealth is send in your money to them. This has become their primary message which they mix inbetween a few twisted passages pulled out of context. Their manner borders on coersion and/or begging which leads many into coveting this money that the prosperity preacher claims is owed to them by God and sitting in Heaven just waiting for them to "release" it like some kind of celestial slot machine. No longer is the message of salvation or repentance needed with this apostic movement. The only message they preach is the hasteful need to get out of poverty and bad health. The teaching of salvation, repentance and the True Word of God has taken a back seat to corporate jets, multi-million dollar mansions, expensive boats and luxury cars.
The cancer of apostasy has been spreading throughout many of the mainline churches for many years as God's Truth has been replaced with tolerance. Nowadays we can see the effects of such apostasy in our churches such as homosexual preachers, incomplete Gospel teaching; no teachings on rebirth, salvation or repentance; hostile actions towards Israel and new-age/pagan beliefs and rituals. The message of Jesus Christ has been replaced with intolerance of God's Truth and disobedience of man. The dysfunction of these churches have led to smaller congregations of unsaved weekend warriors who know little about His True Message. With the pressure of falling attendance and offerings, many churches have looked outside of God's Word for answers.
The seeker-sensitive movement has been the main beneficiary of the apostic church. Seeking to heal their wounds, mainline church leaders are lining up to take classes from such movements as the "Purpose-Driven Church". Eager to expand market revenues, the courses are filled up to capacity week after week. Little or no thought is put into what is behind these methods, only that it works. Seeker-sensitive churches are expanding in people and offerings so many believe it must be from God. Although we are warned about conforming to this world, it seems the world now holds all the answers and not God's Word. The message of Jesus Christ has been replaced with market polls, business gurus, loud bands, skits, plays, non-offensive Scripture text pulling and new-age gimics. Non-believers are brought in to replace the hardened fundamentalists in order that the flesh can be served more easily. Although we are warned about following man's desires, this defiant and destructive movement deems man smarter than his Maker. Out with the Bible, in with self-help books on psychology and new-ageism.
So where does that leave us? Well, it leaves us with two choices. We can become part of the apostasy and the lukewarm church and give in to our fleshly desires. Or we can stand fast in the Faith and unwavering Word of God. We can either go the way of the new-age church that believes in mankind to solve the problems, or we can stand firm in the Word of God and know His Truth.
The choice is yours to make. The battle lines have been drawn and you must decide where you are going to stand. Are you going to stand with God, or are you going to stand with man? Time is very short and the choice you make now might determine your eternal destiny. This is no game, this is an eternal decision that must be taken seriously. But you must choose. You must search your heart for the Truth. You must search the Word for His Truth. You can either put your faith in man or God. Will you choose a church without Christ, or will you choose Christ?
Time's almost up...don't delay.
