Pam Schuffert Weekend of PRAYER, Research, In West Yellowstone: Results Mon Dec 15 2003 1:11:08 pm 204.250.86.83
I have just returned from an intense weekend filled with prayer, interviews and questions while investigating in WEST YELLOWSTONE.
While interviewing longtime locals, I discovered a fascinating piece of information which helped to shed much insight on what the future may hold for this area, and soon.
I interviewed a local longtime resident, who works for the prestigious Stagecoach Inn in West Yellowstone. "So you're here to do research on the Yellowstone volcano, are you," he remarked with interest as I begin to talk to him. "Well, let me tell you something VERY interesting that happened around the time of our LAST big earthquake! I had several friends tell me WHAT THEY SAW only a short time BEFORE the big quake of the 1950's. That quake was so BIG, it even moved a mountain!" In fact, many dead bodies could never be recovered from part of the mountain collapsing and moving during this large earthquake that caused much destruction during the 1950's throughout this region.
The man continued. "My friends were driving through Yellowstone Park. Suddenly, A NEW GEYSER SHOT UP in the very region they were passing through! They watched as it shot up higher than the treetops in the forest. When they came to see me,they told me all about this strange phenomena..." And soon after that new geyser shot up, THE GREAT EARTHQUAKE OCCURRED IN THAT AREA.
There is a difference between the long-standing geysers that erupt more or less with regularity, AND a NEW GEYSER that did not exist previously. NEW geysers indicate more intense and renewed geothermal activities that can even tie in with future earthquakes. And these are EXACTLY the kinds of reports I am receiving in this Yellowstone region.
NEW GEYSERS are springing up...not ONE, but many. The bulge beneath the lake in Yellowstone Park appears to be slowly increasing. Ground heating in many areas, including OUTSIDE the Yellowstone Park proper,IS on the increase (as in nearb Ennis and Norris).
I personally believe that these are all signs to NOT be lightly disregarded. And I believe that they all indicate that SOMETHING CATASTROPHIC ON A MAJOR SCALE MAY SOON BE HAPPENING THROUGHOUT THIS REGION. It MAY be an earthquake alone. Or it MAY be a major blow-out of the YELLOWSTONE SUPERVOLCANO. OR BOTH.
But judging by past experiences in this region indicating EARTHQUAKE, coupled by present consistent reports of more and more renewed geothermal activities, I would suggest that these warnings are not to be taken lightly, ESPECIALLY by the local population. The activities of THE YELLOWSTONE SUPERVOLCANO should continue to be observed and monitored very carefully at this time.
