The past several months have brought the three great global power brokers to the brink of extinction. The United Nations is continuing to struggle for relevance in the face of its reluctance to enforce the 17 resolutions it previously passed against Saddam Hussein's Iraq. Calling it a 2nd Resolution, the U.N. heard Great Britain offer the 18th post-Gulf War resolution against Saddam Hussein before descending into its usual anarchy.

Whether or not the U.S. will prevail at the U.N. Security Council is largely in the hands of such global giants as Cameroon, Angola, Guinea, Pakistan and Mexico. They sit on the fence with five of the nine votes needed for the U.S. to have a majority on the Security Council.

The European Union is fractured as well. France decided on behalf of Europe that the Europeans were going to obstruct any U.S. effort to bring the U.N. along to Iraq. The Germans and Belgians stood with their French leader.

But the rest of Europe took a look around and quickly signed on with the United States. Since Turkey is a likely battleground, should the war spill outside Iraq's borders, the Turks asked their NATO allies to provide Turkey with military support under the provisions of Article 5.

Jacques Chirac, still smarting at being dethroned as King of Europe, all but split the Alliance in its effort to refuse to grant Turkey the military support that military alliances are supposed to grant. NATO had to go through a subcommittee to get around France in order to achieve its mission.

So, what we have here are the three greatest global alliances in the history of mankind, teetering on the brink.

And all because of one man. But that one man isn't Saddam Hussein. Saddam is just another puppet being controlled by the Puppetmaster. Not that he'd like to admit it, or even that he really recognizes it, but Saddam's days are numbered.

But it wasn't George Bush that started the clock ticking.

It was Osama bin Laden. He's like McCavity's Cat, every time you turn around, he's not there, but evidence of his passage is everywhere.

One man, sitting in a cave, ranting to other cave dwellers, telling tall stories about power and weakness. A single man, on whose word and at whose command 19 men armed with boxcutters went to America and slaughtered 3,000 people.

He declared war – jihad – against the Christian Crusaders and their Zionist sidekicks in Israel.

Suddenly, Colin Powell isn't getting his calls returned, alliances start going sour, bases get closed, allies demand billions before allowing troops to debark, or they just decided they've switched sides, thank you for asking.

Like the sheriff in the Old West looking for a posse to defend the town and finding all the doors are locked and the shutters closed. All out of fear of just one man.

Osama bin Laden releases an audio tape, and the whole world holds its breath, waiting.

If nothing happens, we breathe a sigh of relief and organize another march against the war with Iraq, hoping the One Man will notice and not attack us.

Citing their own large Muslim populations, entire countries in Europe are rethinking their national policies in order to appease the demands of the Uber-terrorist.

The United States is at its second highest terror-alert status, thanks to this one man. Saddam Hussein and Kim Jong Il are global threats. Why? Because this one man might get his hands on their hardware.

He has so paralyzed the planet that nation is siding against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, with only a few leaders willing meet his snake-like gaze and stand against him. And they do so at the risk of losing the support of their people, who are just beginning to discover they fear retaliation above all things.

All this accomplished by one man in a handful of years. From a cave in Afghanistan. Amazing.

The Bible says that in the last days, a man will rise from obscurity, assume the reigns of government, and from there, seize control of global power. The Bible isn't speaking of Osama bin Laden, it speaks of the coming prince of Rome, the antichrist.

The Bible says he will have seven years in which to reign, and his reign will be a form of hell on earth.

Some scoff at the notion that one man could not only control the world, but could create such havoc in such a short time. "It's impossible," say the naysayers.

One man can accomplish a lot more, given the right circumstances, than one might think. Even from a cave.

God bless,
