Kind of hard to say in the last 6 months - realistically, if you watched the Matrix Reloaded, you have seen an "R" rated film (thanks to the unneeded sex scene with Neo and Trinity).
If you have seen Lord of the Rings (1 or 2) you have seen a PG-13 film. With the exception of those who do not go to movies or do not rent videos (and those without children in the house), it is near impossible to avoid PG-13 ratings unless you decide to watch disney - or simply watched the basic cable television edited versions. While it is plausible to avoid "R" ratings (which I am gradually phasing out a good deal of them) there are still many good movies that have that rating simply for the "Violence/Blood-Gore". Many well written war-movies have been given an "R" rating.
And I personally don't know if Mel Gibson's "The Passion" has been rated yet, but given the commentary on how disturbing the the scenes of the crucifixion are, it very likely to get an "R" rating as well. (PG-13 minimum).
With all that said though, I'm still quite happy sticking with my Animated Disney Movies!!!
