J4- this is for you! A quote her from my brother wetshoes...

Emphasis added by me HFHs (Wetshoes thank you for providing the right words for what I have been trying to say to my friend J4)

quote:
The problem wells up from the depth of humanism where even the message of salvation is compromised into humanistic terms. “Just ask Jesus into your heart!” or “accepting Jesus as your savior” is touted as all that is necessary to transfer one from the kingdom of the world to the kingdom of God! But the truth is much more demanding! Jesus does not add Himself to anything – and especially the human heart! We do not accept Him, He accepts us! But there is an unconditional demand placed upon humanity to acquire Salvation – and that is death! Death of self is almost never promoted from a pulpit because it does not bring people to the altar.
May I add though that HE accepts us while we are still sinners J4 and HE changes us if we allow him because we are able because we have died to self.

He accepts us in our wretched condition when we surrender our will to his. That is when we see the change. It doesnt matter how wretched a person we are; He is God and is able to work with our flithy dirty grotesque ugliness and sin; but we must give him a heart that is broken enough to see our vileness and our need for him to make us white and clean.

All we need to bring to the table is our heart that is broken....Our heart that understands we cannot save ourselves.
