Yes we surely should and also we need to be sure to help the new Christians know the truth and expose the false gospel preachers so they will be grounded in the true word of God.

2 Peter 2:1-2 (KJV)
But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.

It is all about Jesus! Praise you Lord Jesus Christ my we never make it about ourselves.

I thank God for who HE is and what HE has done for us. [Smile]

Luke 5:29-31 (King James Version)
King James Version (KJV)

And Levi made him a great feast in his own house: and there was a great company of publicans and of others that sat down with them.

But their scribes and Pharisees murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with publicans and sinners?

And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick.

Bible commentary:

Levi called, Christ's answer to the Pharisees.

It was a wonder of Christ's grace, that he would call a publican to be his disciple and follower. It was a wonder of his grace, that the call was made so effectual. It was a wonder of his grace, that he came to call sinners to repentance, and to assure them of pardon. It was a wonder of his grace, that he so patiently bore the contradiction of sinners against himself and his disciples. It was a wonder of his grace, that he fixed the services of his disciples according to their strength and standing.

The Lord trains up his people gradually for the trials allotted them; we should copy his example in dealing with the weak in faith, or the tempted believer.

Thankyou God for being OU wonderful physician and Lord. [clap2]

This is one of my favorate songs. The words sure make you thank.

KNOW YOU NOW

I've never seen that little town where You were born
It was long before my time and far away
But as time goes on I think about You more and more
And wonder what it was like in those day's
I wish I could have walked with You
You might have called me friend
But there's no way I could've known You then

But I know You now
I know Your name
A lot of awesome things You did and why You came
I didn't know You when
You helped that lame man rise up from his bed
I didn't know You when
You stood there and called Lazarus from the dead
But I know You now

I didn't see You feed that tired hungry crowd
With five loaves and two fish one afternoon
And I didn't see You catch Peter’s hand
So he wouldn't drown
When he tried the walk on water like You
I couldn't see Your face
When You taught those little kids
There's just no way I could've seen You then

But I see You now
I see Your love
I see a tiny glimpse of You in every one of us
I didn't see You on the mount of olives
Crying as You prayed
I couldn't see You when You were kissed by Judus and betrayed
But I see You now

Oh, I didn't need You when that bitter angry mob
Shouted out crucify him
And I couldn't have needed You
When they laughed and mocked You
But it could be I'm a little bit like them

‘Cause I need You now
I need Your grace
And how I needed Your forgiveness to be saved
I didn't need You when Pilates soldiers beat You to the ground
I didn't need You when You hung there
Bleeding from Your thorny crown
But I need You now
Oh, I need You now

Yes At Calvary is a wonderful song. There are so many great gospel songs. Another one I really like is Christy Lane's One Day At A Time.

I don't know "Learning to Lean" completely, but the song is precious to me.

Learning to lean, learning to lean, learning to lean on Jesus. -

BLESSÈD ASSURANCE
Fanny Crosby

Words: Fanny Crosby, 1873:

My friend, Mrs. Joseph F. Knapp, composed a melody and played it over to me two or three times on the piano. She then asked what it said. I replied, “Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine"

“During the recent war in the Transvaal,” said a gentleman at my meeting in Exeter Hall, London, in 1900, “when the soldiers going to the front were passing another body of soldiers whom they recognized, their greetings used to be, ‘Four-nine-four, boys; four-nine-four;’ and the salute would invariably be answered with ‘Six further on, boys; six further on.’ The significance of this was that, in ‘Sacred Songs and Solos,’ a number of copies of the small edition of which had been sent to the front, number 494 was ‘God be with you until we meet again;’ and six further on than 494, or number 500, was ‘Blessed Assurance, Jesus is mine.’”

Sankey, p. 122

Blessèd assurance, Jesus is mine!
O what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.

Refrain

This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior, all the day long;
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior, all the day long.

Perfect submission, perfect delight,
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
Angels descending bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

Refrain

Perfect submission, all is at rest
I in my Savior am happy and blest,
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.

Refrain

The song At Calvary is one of my very favorite gospel songs along with many others. I also really enjoy listening to the Gaithers. Jesus Christ died for our sins so that we may have eternal life. He is the only way and we must all strive to follow Him in our daily walk. To Him is given all the glory and praise forever.

In Christ's love,

God on the Mountain ~

Life is easy when you're are up on the mountain,
As you've got peace of mind like you've never known.
But things then change and you're down in the valley.
Don't lose faith for you're never alone.
~~~
The God on the mountain, is still God in the valley.
When things go wrong you know that he will make them right.
The God of good times, is still God in the bad times.
The God of the day, is still God in the night.
Have Thine Own Way, Lord
Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Thou art the Potter, I am the clay.
Mold me and make me after Thy will,
While I am waiting, yielded and still.
Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Search me and try me, Master, today!
Whiter than snow, Lord, wash me just now,
As in Thy presence humbly I bow.
Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Wounded and weary, help me, I pray!
Power, all power, surely is Thine!
Touch me and heal me, Savior divine.
Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Hold o’er my being absolute sway!
Fill with Thy Spirit ’till all shall see
Christ only, always, living in me.
“We are the clay, You are the Potter; we are all the work of Your hand.” Isaiah 64:8
O Holy Night
O holy night
The stars are brightly shining
It ’tis the night of our dear savior’s birth
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
’til he appeared and the soul felt it’s worth.
A prayer of hope the weary world rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn
Fall on your knees
Oh hear the angel voices
Oh night divine
Oh night, when christ was born
Truly he taught us to love one another
His law is love and his gospel is peace
Chains shall he break for the slave is our brother
And in his name all oppression shall cease
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,
Let all within us praise his holy name.
Fall on your knees
Oh hear the angel voices
Oh night divine
Oh night, when christ was born
Oh night divine
Oh night, when christ was born
Oh night, when christ was born
When christ was born
In The Garden
I come to the garden alone
while the dew is still on the roses
and the voice I hear whispers in my ear
the Son of God discloses
Oh He walks with me and He talks with me
and He tells me I am His own
And the joy we share as we tarry there
none other has ever been known!
At Calvary
Many years I lived in vanity and pride
Caring not my Lord was crucified
That it was there for me He died
At calvary
Mercy there was great and grace was free
There it was multiplied to me
There my burdened soul found liberty
At calvary!
In Christ's love,
I BOWED ON MY KNEES AND CRIED HOLY
I dreamed of a city called Glory,
So bright and so fair.
When I entered that gate I cried, "Holy"
The angels all met me there:
They carried me from mansion to mansion,
And oh what sites I saw.
But I said, "I want to see Jesus,
He's the One who died for all."
Chorus
Then I bowed on my knees and cried,
"Holy, Holy, Holy."
Then I clapped my hands and sang, "Glory,
Glory to the Son of God."
Then I bowed on my knees and cried,
"Holy, Holy, Holy."
Then I clapped my hands and sang, "Glory,
Glory to the Son of God."
I thought as I entered that city,
My friends all knew me well.
They showed me the streets of Heaven;
Such scenes too numerous to tell;
I saw Abraham, Isaac and Jacob,
Mark, Luke and Timothy.
But I said, “Timothy, I want to see Jesus,
He's the One who died for me."
Chorus
Then I bowed on my knees and cried,
"Holy, Holy, Holy."
Then I clapped my hands and sang, "Glory,
Glory to the Son of God."
Then I bowed on my knees and cried,
"Holy, Holy, Holy."
Then I clapped my hands and sang, "Glory,
Glory to the Son of God."
 - I Can't Even Walk (Without You Holding My Hand)
I thought number one would surely be me.
I thought I could be all I wanted to be.
I thought I could build on life's shifting sand
But I can't even walk without You holding my hand.
I thought I could do a lot on my own
I thought I could make it all alone.
I thought I would succeed in all that I planned
But I can't even walk without You holding my hand.
Lord I can't even walk without You holding my hand.
The mountain's too high
And the valley's too wide.
Down on my knees is where I learned to stand
But I can't even walk without You holding my hand.
One of my favorite praise songs to sing or listen to thoughout the day was inspired by Psalm 36...
Your Love Reaches Me
by Darren Clarke
You are the fountain of my life
And in your light I find my reason
('Cause) Your love reaches to the stars
Even the great deep
(And) Your love reaches to this heart
And it makes me sing
Your love reaches me
It's what I need
It's what I need
Your love reaches me
It's what I need
It's what I need
Oh Lord, how priceless
Is your unending love
Both high and low
Find refuge in your shadow
The Cross is Not Greater
The cross that He gave may be heavy
But it ne’er outweighs His grace
The storm that I fear may surround me
But it ne’er excludes His face
Chorus
The cross is not greater than His grace
The storm cannot hide His blessed face
I am satisfied to know that with Jesus here below
I can conquer every foe
The thorns in my path are not sharper
Than composed His crown for me
The cup that I drink not more bitter
Than He drank at Gethsemane
The light of His love shineth brighter
As it falls on paths of woe
The toil of my work groweth lighter
As I stoop to raise the low
Love that one too redkermit. Another favourite is Because He Lives -
Because He lives
I can face tomorrow.
Because He lives all fear is gone.
Because I know He holds the future, and
Life is worth the living just because He Lives.
This Hymn is in PraiseHymn.com
It's also under lil-bit-n-more.com by the Cathedrals.
One of my all time favorites:
Something beautiful, something good
All my confusion, He understood
All I had to offer Him
Was brokenness and strife
But He made something beautiful of my life.
Oh , thank you for that posting, His Grace. I can't sing that song without being reduced to a bawling baby, but that's a good thing I guess! It is so powerful whenever I think of how great our God is.
My pastor told me recently that David was also a big crier, because I was feeling bad for being so sensitive and crying all the time. God gave me active tear ducts for a reason I guess!
This simple digital version of How Great Thou Art really thrills my soul.
http://www.mamarocks.com/how_great_thou_art.htm
How Great Thou Art
Oh Lord my God when I in awesome wonder
Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder
Thy power throughout the universe displayed
When Christ shall come
With shout of acclamation
To take me home
What joy shall fill my heart
Then I shall bow in humble adoration
And there proclaim my God how great Thou art
Then sings my soul my savior God to Thee
How great Thou art
How great Thou art
Then sings my soul my savior God to Thee
How great Thou art how great Thou art.
Thanks for posting that!
I don't get to listen to music at work and it's nice to be reminded of one of my favorite songs that I can sing to myself during the day.
Listening to praise music during the day while I work around the house just lifts my spirits and keeps me praising God all day, so I thought we could maybe start a thread with some of our favorites.
Trading My Sorrows
(words and music by Darrell Evans)
I'm trading my sorrows,
I'm trading my shame,
I'm laying them down,
For the joy of the Lord!
I'm trading my sickness,
I'm trading my pain,
I'm laying them down,
For the joy of the Lord!
We say yes Lord, yes Lord,
yes, yes Lord!
Yes Lord, yes Lord,
yes, yes Lord!
Yes Lord, yes Lord,
yes, yes Lord!
Amen!
I am pressed but not crushed,
Persecuted not abandoned,
Struck down but not destroyed.
I am blessed beyond the curse,
For His promise will endure,
That His joy's gonna be my strength!
Tho' this sorrow may last for the night,
His Joy comes with the morning!
I'm trading my sorrows,
I'm trading my shame,
I'm laying them down,
For the joy of the Lord.
I'm trading my sickness,
I'm trading my pain,
I'm laying them down,
For the joy of the Lord.
We say yes Lord, yes Lord,
yes, yes Lord!
Yes Lord, yes Lord,
yes, yes Lord!
Yes Lord, yes Lord,
yes, yes Lord!
Amen!
