I have been thinking about this for the past 3 days. After hearing a sermon by John Piper on, memorizng Scriptures. "If my words abide in you" was the name of the sermon. You can find it on Youtube.
His message of memorizing scriptures has really got me realizng the importance of continuous reading, and understanding of God's word.
It is soo important! Espeically because of the power of the living words! It empowers the Holy Spirit living in us! Our mind is transformed by the power of his words! The truth is revealed day after day as we read on! And what is more important than knowing our creator and HIS story! NOTHING!
But to be able to recite and live our lives around the basic knowlege of the bible!
To have such an understanding and mind connected with the word, that we speak it out, WHEREVER we are!
That is important! Declaring his words when we're in trouble!
Declaring his promises when we're discouraged!
Declaring his WORDS! His life! His STORY to us!
To let the word abide in us. Is to meditate!
And to meditate on something you MUST love it!
And to LOVE IT! You will grow ever stronger in love with the creator himself!
We must pray, that our minds will be trasformed and renewed So that we are no longer thinking fleshly, Sinful, and in unimportant ways!
