Hi Copper 25,
Please do not take this personally, but I was wondering if the posts that you are putting up are in your own words? I realize that you are not obligated to answer me, but I had to ask because I am so curious to know. As far as I know it is not against this sites rules to copy and paste Christian stuff that comes from other preferred sources, so I am not attempting to get you banned or anything like that.

With love in Christ, Daniel

Proverbs 26:28) He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls

How can sin prosper, or the person committing it? To have rule over one’s spirit is to restrain it from sin. Failure to do this is why many perish and never come to the light of truth and stay in darkness all their lives. People run from the light and don’t want to come in it. So they start living by their own standards and their own ways, doing “ that which is right in his own eyes ” and not what is right in God’s eyes, which is what matters. it’s a danger thing and a snare upon the soul that many fail to comprehend. When someone has no rule over their own spirit, sin will consume them as it is written “ for the wages of sin is death ”. What in-between is their? If a person does not turn from their evil ways, transgressions, iniquities, and sin, they will die in them. Is it that hard to believe? When the children of Israel suffered and felt the wrath of God for their disobedience, or under only two or three witnesses were put to death for one sin. Only one sin and they were accounted worthy of death in most cases, less is was out of ignorance or unknowingness. But now all men and women are called to repentance. Repenting of all their sins and to turn from the act of sin itself. This call is not light as many take it, but is a warning to live in holiness or be destroyed by the body of sin, perished and gone forever, wiped from the face of the earth. How severe is this warning! Plug the ears, shun the truth many do but they will not prosper. John 17:17) Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth)) and “ holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord ”. The more we keep and study and absorb God’s word, the more sanctified we become.

like a city that is broken down, and without walls - When we sin, it is like opening the gates to the enemy who is “ as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour ”. People forget that there are always two sets of eyes watching over them, one God, and the other the devil. When people submit themselves to presumptuous sin, they give a foot hold to the adversary, less they repent to God for forgiveness. Even one sin can escalate back into the bondage of sin. What is accomplished if someone keeps on sinning? Because when they do so they sacrifice and lower their defenses to evil. Flee from evil, isn’t that what be are called to do, nothing less, not even allowing a bit of evil or sinfulness to hinder us? “ the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous and his ears are open unto their prayers: But the face of the Lord is against them that do evil ”. Is not sin evil, wickedness, iniquity, transgression, and offense? “ for the arms of the wick shall be broken, but the Lord upholdeth the righteous ”. The wick and the transgressor shall perish.
