Long robes are not the fashion of servants.
The word interpreted "greetings" in the first passage is aspasmos as-pas-mos’. It is used by Paul as in his letters as he draws near to them in the letter. It is created by putting the prefix which means, basically, "not" with a word that means "to draw out".
Jesus warned us of men who like men to not draw out from them in the marketplaces. They like to be cozy with those who buy and sell (as opposed to those who labor) for a living. When someone loves something in the marketplace, he will spend as much time there as he can. He would rather be apart from the places where the serving is done.

The elders/bishops/overseers of the Christian church, however, are called to serve with their hands.
