I am not too proud of being a Quebecer after reading this...
Unfortunately, tt's true, very few people get married in Quebec...and more than half that do get married end up divorcing after just a few years if they even get that far!...
After I got married, my father used to proudly say that his three children were now married...but now two of us are divorced...
When I got married in 1988, the law had changed maybe a year earlier if I remember correctly. I got to keep my maiden name...maybe did it have something to do with the high divorce rate even back then?...I am not sure about that...
Young teenage girls are highly encouraged to take the birth control pill once they start going to high school...the schools even supply it to them for free without even consulting the parents first!...
These days, it seems like the kids are kings and queens and the parents have no rights!...

One of our Centurions recently told us a story that was both fascinating—and disturbing. Her name is Tessa Littlejohn. She is a flight attendant who lives in Ontario. Tessa recently worked with another flight attendant from Quebec, whom I will call Cecile. As they worked, Cecile told Tessa all about her boyfriend, Gerard. Cecile was wearing a ring on her left hand, so Tessa asked her if she was engaged. Cecile blushed. “Actually,” she said, “Gerard and I have been married for two years.”...
