I think the Pope's quote of the 13th or 14th century A.D. Imperial remarks at Regensburg to be very right on target.

When I look at the Pope's remarks spiritually, it seems right on target in terms of the battle which has started between Islam and Christianity, as to who will rule the earth from Jerusalem.

The Pope is backtracking, but the Holy Spirit made him say the truth about Islam.

Be blessed.

Oh goody, this kind of rubbish again.

Are you really saying that you believe the BBC is involved in a co-ordinated anti-religeous conspiracy? The BBC transmits ALL news in many languages around the world, no matter what the story is.

The BBC story described in the report was obviously picked up by people who look for these kinds of things and then spreadvia their own networks rather than the BBC.

The BBC also ran this story:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/5378606.stm

and that would have been transmitted in many languages in much the same way as the original story. Don't seem to see that in the link you posted.

PS Glad to be back on the site - for some reason my laptop crashes every time I try and enter here.

God bless you Sis;

It is the feeding of hatred and destruction by those under the control by the god of this world.

It is the same sort of hatred which dwells like a cancer in the hearts of those who hate Israel and the Jews. Propaganda is a powerful weapon of assult.

http://neo-neocon.blogspot.com/2005/10/how-tuvia-grossman-got-to-be.html

Grossman, an American Jew studying in Israel, was beaten by a mob in the Arab section of Jerusalem and rescued by an Israeli policemen. When the photo of the bloodied Grossman appeared, a club-wielding and shouting policeman standing over him,

it was released by the AP and flashed all over the world--including the NY Times--with the laconic caption, "An Israeli policeman and a Palestinian on the Temple Mount." The reader was led to the inescapable conclusion that the Israeli had beaten the defenseless Palestinian youth.

To this day, that misapprehension continues among many, despite attempts at correction. The photo was originally used as propaganda for the Palestinian intifada; it is still used for propaganda purposes by the Palestinians. After all, what are facts when there's a larger truth to consider?

Landes makes the important point that the misidentification most likely had to do with the expectations of the press that any photo featuring "bloodied youth and Israeli policeman with club" would just have to be of a Palestinian who had been beaten by said policeman. Psychologists have long known that human beings function in the world by setting up such templates as shortcuts to ordering observations.

Oh, Drew! This makes me ill. Is there not enough unrest in the world already???? A slow news day??? I dont know which is worse the BBC doing this or the people that are so easily puppeteered into being outraged by a report saying people somewhere else were outraged.

Makes you wonder how often this kind of thing has occured.. not just with the BBC but here as well. Just sickening. I want to go home. I am so sick of this world.

Manipulated Hatred

LONDON, September 18, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The international furor over the Pope’s comments at Regensburg last week appears to have begun through a series of carefully stage-managed media reports

Tracing the media coverage from the day of the Pope’s speech in Regensburg, Germany, a distinct shift in approach, what media analysts call a “meme,” of “Islamic outrage”, is clearly traceable starting with the BBC’s coverage three days later.

The day after the speech, Wednesday the 13th, the Pope’s lecture elicited little response from apparently bored secular journalists who had little interest in what was considered his “obscure” and “academic” points on the relationship between religious belief and the secular world.

Catholic news sources who reported the day after the lecture were also quiet. “Pope spends quiet afternoon at home with brother,” was the leading headline at Catholic World Report.

On Thursday the 14th, however, under the headline “Pope's speech stirs Muslim anger,” the BBC began with a report that police in Kashmir had seized newspapers carrying coverage of the pope’s speech in order “to prevent tension.” The BBC’s coverage did not include any quote from the Indian-administered Kashmiri police force.

The BBC’s September 14th report was transmitted around the world in Arabic, Turkish, Farsi (the language of Iran), Urdu, the official language of Pakistan; and Malay. The next day, the anticipated furor had became a reality.

Immediately after the appearance of the first BBC coverage, the Pakistani parliament issued a declaration condemning Benedict’s speech and demanding an apology.

Later the same day, the BBC published, under the headline, “Muslim anger grows at Pope speech” a report on the Pakistan government’s reaction. It quoted the head of the Islamic extremist group, the Muslim Brotherhood, saying “the Pope's remarks ‘aroused the anger of the whole Islamic world’.

The same day, the Guardian, following the BBC’s lead, ran the headline, “Muslim anger builds over Pope's speech.” From that moment, the internet was flooded with reportage from around the world on the Pope’s alleged “attack” on Islam and the predicted response from Islamic groups began.
