A Christian’s Stance on Homosexuality

This is going to be a touchy subject and topic of discussion for some – I can already feel the flames coming from some people. 

When I was a young boy, which seems like eons ago, I saw two “Christians” ( notice I used the quotes for Christians) waving a sign around that said, “God Created Adam and Eve… Not Adam and Steve,” in their attempt to advocate their stance on homosexuality.

I remember being disgusted with this… I looked around me and everyone was laughing at the sign these two men had made – and not only that, but encouraging them to drive around with the sign taped to their back windshield.

Now… If we as Christians are supposed to be Christ like, which is the very meaning of Christian, then how is that Christ like?
It seems more like hatred to me.

Now if I was a homosexual, which I’m not, then I would be very offended by that and put of from trying to become more godly even more – maybe even becoming more engrossed with my sexual deviance.

I remember when my friend Bobby died in the Iraq war – how “Christian” protesters paraded outside his funeral holding signs that said “God Hates Fags!” and a whole slue of other statements – THEY EVEN HAD YOUNG CHILDREN HOLDING THE SINGS!!!!

What does that say to the homosexual community?

Despite what scientists say, homosexuality is a mental disorder.

Saying someone was born a homosexual is like saying: someone was born a porn-addict…. And we all know that’s just silly.

There are no animals in the animal kingdom which practices homosexuality, other than human beings – and I will argue this point with anyone who wants to debate dogs, dolphins, whales, etc.
There are NO other instances of this occurring in nature – again I WILL debate this with anyone.

So.. homosexuality, just like theft, murder, etc. is a sin… flat and simple.

So, to hate someone because they are a homosexual, or to dislike them, is like someone disliking me because I have a problem with an addiction.

God may not like what I do, but he loves me.

So thus, God loves homosexuals, he just hates and despises homosexuality – and it is homosexual’s fault if they take that personal… because it is their choice to be homosexual… and I will debate that too.

Your thoughts?

All these issues like homosexuality, drugs, sex outside of marriage, adultery, pornography, and pretty much any other sin you can think of should be unimportant to you in regards to the unsaved. You need to ask yourself, what is keeping the unsaved person from their relationship from God and keeping them from access to heaven. Is it because they are a homosexual? or addicted to crack?, or because they are cheating on their wife? The answer is no. It is because they have not accepted Christ's gift of salvation. That is sin that keeps you from God. So then what is important? It is showing that unsaved person God's love and educating them on what God has done and how they can accept that gift of salvation. After that point, God will likely do a lot more to change that person's behavior then you will, and how that person lives their life is really between them and God anyway with it really not being your place other than trying to educate them on what Jesus had taught christians in how to live their lives.

Just remember a non christian can live the perfect "christian" life of being chaste, humble, a servent and free from any unclean thing yet still be separate from God and receive the wages of sin just the same if they are murders, rapists and theives. It is the acceptance of Gods gift of salvation that saves us, not how we live our lives.

Is it not our place to help them?

An insane person need a theraputic talking to to help them figure out why they are insane and how to fix the problem.

What I am trying to get at is this: if the medical community would recognize homosexuality as a mental disorder and not a Born-with-defect, then they could get to the root of the probelm and correct it.

On December 15, 1973, the American Psychiatric Association, removed homosexuality from its official list of mental disorders. The American Psychological Association Council of Representatives adopted the same measure on January 24-26, 1975.

The people that would do this are not Christians and they don't know Jesus Christ.

Amen David!!!

That is the apostle of hate out of Topeka. His fruit is that of hate, and variance.

It is a blessing to see the Patriot Guard and the Legion Riders gather at such events and block their signs of hate with large American flags.

I first want to say Amen to David's post....there is no place for that kind of hate in a Gospel of love....yes we are to hate sin but our weapons of warfare are not carnal....prayer, fasting, true love form a broken heart is the answer....

true and false....

true stealing a pencil will land you in the same Hell as the child molester and murderer without repentance and Yahshua's Blood...

but teaching morality is important to any culture....just 50 years ago the lost had higher morals than most so called Christians of today....

does this at all answer your question MentorsRiddle ?
