- (Matt 7:7,8) “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

8. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

These words of Jesus speak about praying, but also about how everyone who seeks finds; and that the door will be opened to him who knocks. He promised that everyone who does this also receives an answer. Jesus also says elsewhere, that we will find out the truth, if we only want to. It will be found, if we sincerely choose to do God’s will:

- (John 7:17) If anyone chooses to do God’s will, he will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own.

The previous verses are a good starting point for thinking about eternal and spiritual life. For the fact is, that many people never stop to think about these issues or the reality and validity of heavenly life. They don’t want to get answers to these, or to come close to God or seek first for His kingdom, but usually pass these questions very quickly. Neither do they think much about the existence of God, whether He has created the world, do heaven and hell exist and how they can receive forgiveness of their sins, but they pass also these questions too quickly.

We are now going to look at these issues which are in some way connected with heavenly life (the subjects are 1. creation, 2. the meaning of our actions, judgement and damnation, 3. eternal life and 4. Jesus – His character and meaning in salvation). The purpose is that everyone could stop to think how true and probable these things are. Their probability can be for example 0 % (untrue), 100 % (true) or between 1 – 99 %. Based on these it is then possible for everyone to draw his own conclusions.P
