Hi, I'm sort of a newcomer to the faith, and I'd like to know what people think of this topic...

I'm already aware of the Christian argument about evolution, but I'm curious about "world ages", and also the place of extinct animals commonly labeled 'prehistoric'-Animals such as the Dinosaurs, Pterosaurs, Plesiosaurs, and various extinct mammals and "ape-men" such as Austraphephenis(sp?). If these creatures did not evolve, what happened to them? The flood is an obvious explanation, but Noah apparentally was commanded to take two of *every* creature, and that would include specimens of the animals above. Could various species have gone extinct by failing to adapt to a post-flood world? If so, how come similar creatures are lumped in different rock layers? Also, where are the records of man's dealing with the extinct animals? While records exist of interaction with Mammoths and Sabertooth tigers, there seems to be very little about interaction with say, Dinosaurs, save perhaps the "Behemoth" of the bible, or the Dragon legends and myths.
Also, what of the Ice Age, Paleolithic, and Neolithic eras? Can these still be fitted into a biblical model? Or simply irrelevant...

Sorry to fire off so many questions, it's just I don't see these questions answered in a lot of creationist FAQs....
