This morning my husband did not feel like going to Church and because I am not able to drive anymore, neither one of us had been outside. We found the back window shot out of our SUV.
Pray this will not discouraged hubby. This means we have to pay 500 deductable. The police said it could have been shot with a bb gun. We have never had any trouble with our neighbors. But, I have noticed several cars with plastic over broken windows so this could be a pattern with kids.

Texas Grandma,

I just read your posting in this thread I want to say I'm so sorry that your suv's back window was shot out. This has happened ever so much in our town also and it causes so much trouble and financial hardship for those who've had their vehicles and pickup windows all shot out mostly by bb guns. I cannot understand why anyone wants to go on a rampage like that but it happens so much! I wish the ones who are responsible for doing it could be caught and be made to pay restitution. Sometimes they catch them here but not too often. Also the vehicles and pickups are broken into and anything of value is stolen. I pray that nothing like this will ever happen to you and your husband again! God bless you both!

In Christ's love,
Gramajo320

I'm so sorry to hear this. I know from experience what it's like to have your car vandalized. I had a van years ago and kids took keys to both sides of it. I had to have it repainted. It's frustrating and hurtful that people would have such lack of respect. Unfortunately, it's also a sign of the times [Frown] Hearts are so cold nowdays like never before.

I pray your hubby won't become discouraged by this and that the Lord will provide what you need to get through this trial.

Sorry to hear about this latest turn in events Betty. Praying that your husband will not get discouraged and that funds will be readily available to pay this debt.

I am just as concerned that kids may be out there with bb guns. They can be very dangerous, say if they hurt someone in the eye. Is there no law against them?

I think that they are legal. FOr now our car is in the shop. We hope to get it back in time to go to Bible Study for Thursday night, but the window has to ordered. Hubby says if God takes care of us where was He Saturday night. I told him bad things happen to everybody. But, pray for him.

Betty,
We are praying for you!
To answer hubby, in a very unkind way, but scripturally valid:
God does not like to see His children in pain. However, He gave each of us the free will to love Him or hate Him (There is no middle ground). Those who love God understand that God's ultimate goal is not our comfort, but our conforming to the image of His precious Son. Who did not strike back, talk back or become bitter when mistreated. Humanly this attitude is impossible to attain. But through God's grace it can be ours. Yes, even here on this earth.
God loves your family! God wants your family to truly trust in Him alone.
This life is not about what we have or don't have.
This life is a blink of an eye in eternity.
This life is about getting ready to spend an enormously long time with a Holy God who can not be in the presence of sin, I.E. selfishness, bitterness, retaliation, etc.

God loves your family enough to allow bad things to transform you into "Lovers of God".

Read: Job, lost his children and his wealth.
about Joseph, sold into slavery and then in prison for 17 years
about David, told he would be the next king and ran for his life for ten years
about Moses, felt the call of God on his life and spent forty years tending sheep, forty years putting up with the Israelites and then didn't get to enter the promise land.

God does love you and we are praying for your perserverance in all these trials. They will bring you that greatest reward ... "Well done, my faithful servant, come up!"
