He reached out to a young lady in his Church that he is in love with, this Valentine's Day, and he got the "I only want to be friends." He spent days looking for the perfect gift for her and sent it to her job.
He is so discouraged and so sure he will be single for the rest of his life. Pray that God will send a Christian young lady for him, that will love him back.
thanks,
betty

Hi Betty

Yep, I am still looking myself too--though not to take your son's situation lightly. I know how rough it is... but also remember that a great gift of character and wisdom is being cultivated inside him, by the Lord, and perhaps this incident is by design. Please discourage your son from thoughts that he somehow was undeserving of love. I myself have encountered women who, while even claiming to be Christian, were game-players and, in retrospect, probably not able to give the kind of love I am looking for. Just because a girl goes to church does not make her a princess (excapt in God's eyes, and even He may see her as a diamond-in-the-rough in need of further polishing as part of His plan for her).

I am not singling women out. Men have their equal share of rough edges!
[Roll Eyes]

Tell him to take heart. When the time (and the gal) are right... both will be there!! Amen.

Lord I pray with great understanding (as You know) for Betty's son, and his journey to the mate you have planned for him. Keep his heart open, and his mind clear, that he may accept Your guidance, and grow strong in You, whether the remaining wait is short or not-so-short. Help him to understand that Your timing is best, and abate his aloneness along the way, through the sharing and fellowship of family and friends. We ask in Jesus's name, amen.

Thank you kindly, my friend. I told my son that just because this young lady doesn't feel the same as he does, doesn't mean that her feelings won't change. He has agreed to be her friend and pray God's will. If he is kind to her, he will either end up with just a great friend or if it is God's will it could be more special at a later date. God's timing is better than ours. He seems happy with my suggestion.
thank you so much for your prayers.

Betty your son may have to show God that he is content to be in the situation in which he has been placed and is prepared to put God first in his life.

He knows your son's every need and, as you both say, he will have to wait for God's proper timing.

Praying that your son will find his perfect life-mate whenever God sees fit.
