I am a Christian, more of an independent Christian. I was raised catholic and when I first got to college attended a methodist church. There I met some wonderful people. Although I haven't talked to many in a while since moving away, I still have been trying to read and understand the word of God as much as I can. I wish I could be more active about it and would like to meet more Christians here.

But for my first posting on this site, I have a prayer request. My long-term girlfriend is waiting for some "test results" - it is NOT pregnancy if that's what you're thinking. She recently went to see a doctor regarding some female problems she was having. The doctor had no clue what the problem was and decided to do a series of tests and explained to her what "it could be." The word 'herpes' was mentioned, and even though my girlfriend and I have been in a serious relationship for almost a year and have no signs that it really is, there is always the possibility. It could be a 'cold sore' type herpes or it could be a tumor, even a cancerous one but there are many possibilities. She is very scared right now just because there is a possibility. Sorry if I'm being too descriptive but I simply wanted to explain the situation.

It is possible that if she in fact does have this virus that I may very well not, but I still care so much about her and want her to be healthy and have a happy life - especially since she has gone through some rough times recently.

The results will come back in about 2 days and I am asking someone out there to pray for me and my girlfriend who I love very much. I have asked God to please stay with me but I need someone else out there to ask with me and hopefully provide some comfort.

I do not know the bible line-by-line (at least not yet) but I do know and have always remembered one Psalm (Psalm 23) when in times of crisis where I needed God the most. I thank the Lord for everything he has given me and for the times when I always had him to turn to - even when everyone else had turned away.

I know that some people on here may be dying of cancer or have lost a loved one so my situation may not sound that serious. But as someone who is worried and who has faith, I thank those who take the time to read this and pray.

No judgement here. Just prayer and comfort.
God will do the rest.
Keep building your faith and encourage your girlfriend to as well.

If it did turn out to be herpes, you can have a wonderful life together anyways. Love covers all things.

My prayer is for healing for her no matter what the results are.

Take heart. God is in control, no matter how much people lose control. Feel His hand on your shoulder, guiding you. Sometimes the greatest favor you can do for yourself is just to hear His voice saying "be still." He who tells the ocean to calm, is in charge--and He's on your side. Isn't that wonderful. Keep your faith and your calm.

I think the most loving thing is to stand by your girlfriend--love means supporting someone in time of difficulty, not just enjoying each other's passionate moments. Let her know she can depend on you being there.

My prayers are with you,

Over the last decade from when I was a teenager to present I’ve been in a ridiculously amount of situations as you with family friends and loved ones (luckily or by the will of God, most biological results where in my favor) so I know how your feeling, the anticipation is a killer. What I learned though, may help you,-It’s not who you are before the news good or bad (hopefully good) but who you are after. Once you learn that both negative and positive become one. I hope this helps and again my prayers are with you
