Mark 12:38-40

Jesus also taught: “Beware of these teachers of religious law! For they like to parade around in flowing robes and receive respectful greetings as they walk in the marketplaces. And how they love the seats of honor in the synagogues and the head table at banquets. Yet they shamelessly cheat widows out of their property and then pretend to be pious by making long prayers in public. Because of this, they will be more severely punished.”

Sounds like a big WARNING to the charlatan's and fake preacher like we have today. The ones that teach a false gospel and beg for your money so they can build themselves an empire to their glory. Sure looks like they will be punished worse!

I could not agree with you more. These fakes have probably been around for a long time, but it seems to me now that they are becoming predominant in the "mainstream" Protestant denominations. If all churches stressed the importance of the sufficiency of God's holy word in the bible, this concern would be resolved. Sadly, they do not.

I'm going to start regularly praying Dr. Young is both guided and blessed in the preparation and delivery of his Oxford paper, which will shine more light on this issue.

Also sounds like the Masons liking to be seen in their "red fez" hats and in parades.

truly religious people like to be seen, but Yeshua said they have their reward!
