Looking for false Gospels in not a mission that I seek to do. In fact if I had my rathers, I would wish for a world where only the truth of God’s Word is preached. But, today all around there are more false Gospels being preached then the truth. Used to be that false gospels stood out like a sore thumb and Christians could easily recognize them. But the devil has become more subtle in these last days. Now the Gospel is so watered down in many Churches that it is more like false gospel then the truth. Even Christians who at first may question why the Pastor never mentions sin never sings those old Gospel songs but sing many songs that don’t even mention Jesus in them. But, sadly, they get taken in by the huge Church, the wonderful programs the Church has, and how beautiful the Church is. To many the Church has become a social club. Personally, I think it is great when a Church has a great youth program and a great children’s program. But, if the Church has stopped teaching and preaching the truth of God’s Words in order to attract the crowds then it has stopped being a hospital for the lost and became another Country Club.
Yes, let’s have programs to reach out to the youth and to children, BUT, let’s make sure when we get them in the building that we are showing them the way to Jesus. Make sure that we are teaching families how to be a disciple for Christ. Sinners don’t need a place to go and feel good about themselves. They need a place to point out their need for salvation and then show them how to get saved and lead them to Christ. Once we do that, the job is not done. Babies in Christ need to be nurtured and mentored. Yes, Meg-a-churches can be great, IF they have not forgotten what a Church is suppose to be. I think it is possible to have a meg-a-church that is on fire for God. BUT when a mea-Church has watered down the Gospel of Christ in order to fill the building, then the Church is no longer a place of worship but a social club. The Church is no longer God’s house but a place to meet with your friends. When the Church is no longer a place where sinners and Christians alike can water the alters with their tears of confession but a meeting where the Preacher gives a 10 minute feel good speech and everyone rushes out to the foyer to socialize then the Church herself is need of salvation.

These are thoughts from my heart and not taken from anyone.
Thank you.

Several people have written to me asking about this website's name, the Christian Underground, wanting to know why I would choose such a name.

I chose this name as a practical reality as well as in a small way a political statement. Being a Christian in modern America is becoming more and more a dangerous thing. Christians in the workplace, children in our schools, leaders in our community, are penalized (Some times prosecuted) for standing up for their Christian held beliefs. This trend is growing faster and faster.

We know dark days are ahead for Christians, the bible tells us this. That does not mean we cannot be active. It is not hard to envision, near in the future, when publicly discussing issues of deeply held biblical belief, that Christians will be arrested for "Hate Crimes".

Early Christians faced this as well, and they met "Underground" (Literally) to fellowship and discuss their faith.

Amen Betty!!!!!!!!!!!!

Righteous judgement
2 Peter 2:
1: But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2: And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
3: And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
4: For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
5: And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
6: And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;
7: And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:
8: (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)
9: The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
10: But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.
11: Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.
12: But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;
13: And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;
14: Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:
15: Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;
16: But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb *** speaking with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet.
17: These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.
18: For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.
19: While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.
20: For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
21: For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
22: But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

1 Cor. 5:
9: I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:
10: Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.
11: But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
12: For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?
13: But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

1 Cor. 2:
9: But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10: But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
11: For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
12: Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
13: Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
14: But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
15: But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
16: For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

2 Timothy 3:
16: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Thank you Drew.

What has suprised me is Christians who become more offended at those who point out Preachers and Teachers who have sold out the truth of the Gospel then to those who actually do the evil deed. It is almost like they would prefer that we be accepting of the sin rather then be offended by it.

My big surprise was after being saved !
Trying to tell friends and family, how we are saved.
Religion does not always agree with the
bible.
I was told a number of times ! " You believe what you want and I will believe what I want"

And not an easy one to answer either. One difficult part in preaching/teaching the gospel is that it is "hard to say it in just one minute". I therefore think that oftentimes it comes down, not so much to what we said, but the love and mercy of God that shined through as we said whatever we said.

Is there mercy in our heart, or sacrifice (I will get that person one way or another)?

May the LORD God of Israel, Who is the Real God, bless us all on this CBBS, I am BORN AGAIN by the shed blood and suffering of my Savior Yahshua-Jesus, born in Bethelehem, a son of David, of the tribe of Judah, as predicted by Micah 5:2.

Wake up, house of Israel, Wake up, house of Judah, your Savior calls you!

BA,
This is true IF you are preaching the truth of the Gospel, but if you have watered down the truth or made your sermons PC, then it does not matter how much love is behind your words. You can lovingly and kindly send people straight to hell with false gospel and pc junk.
The truth should be spoke in love, but it must be the truth or you are wasting your time.

dear sister TEXASGRANDMA, you write to me

Part of the problem lies with the phenomenon of population growth. As the population of the earth reached 1 billion in 1830 A.D., hundreds, and now thousands of believers congregate in church buildings.

Many lead busy family lives, two-job parents, baby-sitter, out for some fun, harried with chores, go here, go there, and so they come to the church building to congregate with other Christians, yes, but also to hear the Word of God from another person (a pastor, a preacher, a teacher) because the family has not much time to read the Word for themselves or hear the Word on tape for themselves.

So in a way, they deserve whatever they receive from the pastor, the preacher, the teacher since they have valued material things over reading and/or listening to the Word of God.

But let's not forget the boundless grace of the Lord, once He sees someone even slightly interested, "anything can happen spiritually in that person's life by the will of God", even while they are listening or being in that "watered down church" as you called it.

Yes, they receive what they came for and they deserve it one on level, but "what is impossible with men, is possible with God" and we Christians should have been praying probably a lot more for our Christian pastors and preachers and teachers, lest the devil finds a way in to distort the pure things of Christ.

God bless, [Cross] BORN AGAIN

Brother BA:

I was studying in Romans last night and something you said here today made me think of Paul.

You said;
quote:
So in a way, they deserve whatever they receive from the pastor, the preacher, the teacher since they have valued material things over reading and/or listening to the Word of God.

This is the verse in Romans that came to my mind when I read the above;

Romans 1:14 I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise.

If you read the context of this verse you see that Paul is speaking to the Roman church, telling them that he desires to come to them, and that he has on many occasions desired to come, but that he has been way laid by the preaching of the Gospel in other areas.

Paul says: "I am not ashamed of the Gospel' For it is the power unto salvation to those that believe.

Paul did not care what people thought about the TRUTH; He knew that the TRUTH if it were spoken would effect those whom would believe and it was for them that he spoke.

Surely Paul also knew that if it was not the truth that he spoke even those whom were intended to hear would not hear that which God intended them to hear.

But note this verse 14... I am a debtor. Paul saw that he was owing to the Greeks and those who did not speak Greek (Barabrians) to preach the Gospel. It was a debt he owed, was obligated to pay.

It seems that it is not so important to Paul who is deserving or even who is WISE or Unwise (believing being wise and unbelievingbeing unwise) but it is important to Paul that he fulfill HIS obligation. Whether we preach and what we preach is about what we owe. If what we preach is not the Gospel, then we are not paying our debt. It has little to do with the situation of the hearer, but of our preaching. It is about our walk.

Paul did not start the church at Rome. At the time of this epistle, Paul had not been to Rome. Yet, Paul desired to come and prayed that if God be willing he could go to Rome to preach the Gospel.

When I read Romans, I see that Paul preached against heresy. I dont see that Paul when he did go to Rome preached anything different than he preached in this espistle or in his epistles to the other churches. Paul preached the Truth of the Gospel. It is impossible to preach the TRUTH and not preach against heresy.

But for Paul what he preached and where he preached was about HIS debt to pay. Those who will hear will hear and those who wont hear wont hear, but it needs be the truth that we preach else we try to pay our debt with phony talents.

Would you agree?
