Genesis 1:27 So God created humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them, male and female he created them.

Genesis 1:27
27: So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Romans 3:
23: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 6:
23: For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 2:4
Or do you despise the riches of His
goodness, forbearance, and
longsuffering, not knowing that the
goodness of God leads you to
repentance?

2 Tim. 3:
6: For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
7: Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
8: Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
9: But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.

The man is holding a Holy Bible on the front cover of Texas Monthly?

Is Joel Osteen like the anointed cherub who was "perfect in his beauty until iniquity was found in him"?

Or is Joel Osteen at least holding a Holy Bible on the front cover of the Texas Monthly, and as Martha Steward used to say, "And that's a good thing"?

No BA it is not a good thing. It is exactly the kind of thing that leads people away from Christianity to the cults like Islam seeking holiness, simplicity of worship, freedom from hypocrisy and the exaltation of the things worldly.

Talk to the many service men that go to the middle east and leave Christianity for Islam.

They leave because they sought holiness in Christianity and could not find it. They understood that God desired obedience and could not find it in mainstream American Christianity. They understood that God desired prayer and could not find it in mainstream American Christianity. They understood that God desired them to come out of the world but in the church mainstream American all they found was the world.

Ask people what draws them to become Jehovah witnesses.

Ask people what draws them to Mormonism.

I have asked these questions and I find one thing in common - a search for purity of faith and the absence of the hypocrisy that seeks God through the pursuit of the worldly and not the Godly and they did not find it mainstream American Christianity.

It is not a good thing. BA. It is the kind of thing that makes for great mockery and sataire on an atheist website.

This is just for those dedicated believers who are interested in living a sanctified life. The rest of you can go on drinking your milk.

It is bad enough when when 'Christians' start picking apart messages of preachers who profess to be one of God's anointed ones, but when we get into mocking the messenger, that is really getting into dangerous territory.

Ecclesiastes 5:6
Do not let your mouth cause your flesh to sin, nor say before the messenger of God that it was an error. Why should God be angry at your excuse and destroy the work of your hands? [Cross]

Ecclesiastes (Qoheleth), Chapter 5

4: When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed.
5: Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.
6: Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before the angel, that it was an error: wherefore should God be angry at thy voice, and destroy the work of thine hands?
7: For in the multitude of dreams and many words there are also divers vanities: but fear thou God.

Thank you all for you thoughts!

I do not desire anything but good for Joel Osteen and others that have adopted his same philosophy of the gospel. I am truly sadden that he / they can not see the truth. I will pray that Yahweh open his / theirs / your eyes before it is to late.

Consider Yeshua’s words

quote:
“Blessed are you when men hate you, and when they exclude you and revile you, and cast out your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man! Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven; for so their fathers did to the prophets. . . . but . . . woe to you when all men speak well of you, for so their fathers did to the false prophets (Luke 6:21-26).

I conclude from this that God, through Jesus, assigned an absolutely inverse relationship to the estimate of either a thing or a person. If the estimation of men (in general) is high, God's estimation is low; if the estimation of God is high, that of men will be low. There is no provision at all for the remotest possibility that God's estimate will agree with man's when the estimate of man is high. Still, there is a provision for agreement when the estimate is low, for it is only when the estimate of men is low "on account of the Son of Man" that God's estimate is inevitably high.

Although Jesus does not address the point, he leaves open the possibility that the two estimates agree when they do not involve the Son of Man, and when they are low. Consider these examples: criminals, murderers, and tyrants may at once be abominations to both God and men. But I must repeat, for emphasis, that if the estimate of men is high, God's is low. Since it is God's word that Jesus announced, the nature of things must be such that God despises anything or anyone exalted among men. “

Amen Dale & Drew! I have a question on this scripture Drew:

Ecclesiastes 5:3 For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool’s voice is known by multitude of words.

Do you think that this applies to vowing discipleship? If I through my re-birth and taking of HIS name vow to follow HIM and do the things that he has called those who love HIM to do, like keeping HIS commands, Feeding HIS sheep, going into the world and making disciples of HIM, and I do not pay that vow, because I get tied up in following men and not HIM.... if I become a disciple of men and not Christ, do you think that he will destroy the work of my hands?

Could that be why there is so little power in the professing church today? Could that be why so many professing christians are in bondage to gambling, and sexual sin, and in debt, and unhappy, and depressed, and not living the victorious live that we should be living? Could this be why so many are like an old country song - looking for love in all the wrong places - like in their jobs, and in the next self help book or seminar or in a bigger house or a newer car or a new spouse or a what ever the flavor of happiness happens to be this month or this year?

What do ya think?

Wow Sis!!!

What an amazing interpretation of scripture, and it sure seems right on the money to me.

Main Entry: 1vow
Pronunciation: 'vau
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English vowe, from Old French vou, from Latin votum, from neuter of votus, past participle of vovEre to vow; akin to Greek euchesthai to pray, vow, Sanskrit vAghat sacrificer
: a solemn promise or assertion; specifically : one by which a person is bound to an act, service, or condition

We have made a solumn vow before God to turn from our sin, to receive Him in our hearts, and to follow His precepts.

What a blessing you have shared Sis, God bless.

HisGrace

Your response was rude and beneath contempt. We have strived to bring peace and this board and you take pleasure in causing problems. For someone who wanted the Exposing False Teachings thread to be separate, you sure spend a lot of time, here.

You can make fun of others all you want but the truth is there are wolves preaching in the pulpit hiding behind sheep clothes.

Linda is right about our soldiers being led away from regular Christianity because they see that in their own Church the Pastor is not preaching the meat of the Gospel. But, it is not just solders; I have mentioned here many times that, they did a show on T.V. how Muslim religion is the fastest growing in Texas. The are recruiting many, right out of Christian Colleges. This is because too many of those teaching in College no longer believe God's Word themselves. My Bible Study teacher paid extra for her daughter to go to a Bible College only to have his daughter come home and tell him that one of her teachers told his class that he did not want any students in his class that took the Bible literally, because it upset him.

We have Bible Colleges teaching future Preachers that the Bible is not to be taking literally and we have Preachers who water-down the Gospel to make easier on people to consume. Yet you want to accuse us of not being able to consume meat. My dear one, it is you that cannot see the truth. It is you, who prefers the get rich, all is well, think on something and you get it, Gospel being preached by the likes of Joel Osteen.
It will not be us who answer to God for warning people, but it will be you who defend those who have sacrilege the Gospel of our Lord and Savior.

Instead of getting on your high horse and defending these false prophets you should be on your knees praying that God will convict them of their sins. Yes, we do pray for Preachers who have so overcome with the number of people in their Church, that they sugar coat the Gospel. When a preacher says he does not use the terms sin or sinner because people do not want to hear it, he has stepped over the line.

Destructive Doctrines 2Peter Chapter
2But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. 2 And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. 3 By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction *does not slumber.

HisGrace you got what you wanted a separate thread, for heresy, if you find it so offensive, I suggest you not go into these threads, but do not expect us to stop bringing the truth, just because you prefer the grab and claim it faith. The only milk drinker here is you my friend.

God bless you and Amen Sister Betty!!!!!!!!

Isn't it interesting that Ecc. 5:6, which was posted as a chastisement by His Grace, when taken within its proper translation and coupled with the surrounding verses, not wrested out of its proper context, has literally brought a great blessing to those who were targeted for chastisement?

Proverbs 12:
1: Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.
2: A good man obtaineth favour of the LORD: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.
3: A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.
4: A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.
5: The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.
6: The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.
7: The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.

Thank you Drew,

You are right, that is the way Preachers today turn scriptures inside out to preach how wealthy people will be if they send seed money to the Preacher's ministry.
Sad to use the Gospel to get rich.

A Famine Of Hearing God's Word

I believe that there is a famine of God's Word in America as described in Amos 8:11-14. We in America are infecting the world with our false teachings through the cults and "Christian" television stations like TBN, Daystar, and a host of others. Here is the quote from the book of Amos:

"Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it. In that day shall the fair virgins and young men faint for thirst. They that swear by the sin of Samaria, and say, Thy god, O Dan, liveth; and, The manner of Beersheba liveth; even they shall fall, and never rise up again"

Amos 8:11-14.

There indeed is a famine of God's Word throughout the world. Turn on Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), Daystar, The Word Network, The Church Channel, and the LeSea network and tell me what you see. You will see heresy at an astounding rate, it is truly saddening.

You cannot help but weep for the deception that is in our midst. Certainly this what Paul did night and day for three years before the elders in the Ephesian church (Acts 20:17-38). It is heart wrenching to see charlatan's and huckster's fleecing the sheep on their telethon's seemingly without protest from our Christian leaders.

Despite the numerous warnings from our Christian brethren these false teachers and false prophets enjoy unprecedented popularity. These wolves rake in millions of dollars and with their lies and deception. They have their multi-million dollar private jets, $4,000 suits, $100,000 cars, and million dollar homes. Think about it my friend, is this kind of opulent lifestyle fitting for a man of the cloth? God spoke on this very issue by the great prophet Jeremiah:

"A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land; The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?" Jeremiah 5:30-31

I thank God for the dear ones who heed these warnings and truly place God's Word above what any man teaches. We must continue to pray for the rest that are entangled in the web of deception and that their eyes will be opened.

Should not shepherd's be aware of the state of their flock? Should they not be about the business of warning the sheep and destroying the wolves? Does not the Bible warn us about these wolves and command us to have no fellowship with them (2 John 9-11, Romans 16:17-18)?

Some Christians might hear some leaders speaking out against TBN, the Word Faith Movement, and the outrageous fleecing that goes on during TBN's Praise-A-Thons. Yet when they see key evangelical leaders having fellowship with them, would it not be logical to conclude that TBN must be orthodox? Is this not why God gave us these warnings in scripture not to associate with false teachers (2 John 9-11, Romans 16:17-18)?

When key evangelical leaders appear in studio on TBN or associate with Paul Crouch in any way it is promoted in their newsletters, websites, and on their commercials to give the impression that Paul Crouch and TBN are orthodox and accepted among Christian leaders.

This association with Paul Crouch and TBN by respected and orthodox Christian leaders perpetuates the deception of millions of Christians who see these "endorsements." These shepherds lend a veneer of orthodoxy to the heretical and in the process according to 2 John 9-11 they are partakers of the sins of these savage wolves that are ravaging the flock of God.

Hank Hanegraaff echoes these same concerns:

"Despite all the warnings concerning cultic and occult groups, none have been more persistent than those I have received after speaking against heretical movements within the church. For several years prominent Faith teachers have been spewing forth their warnings against those who dared to expose their false teachings. Even credible ministers of the gospel who preach solid, biblical messages are caving in to the pressures from these wolves in sheep's clothing (Matthew 7:15; see also Acts 20:29-31). One such pastor told me that if he did not bow to this pressure, he might as well get out of Christian television because, "they own the airwaves." Many evangelicals seem to think the church is better off without ministries like CRI, as evidenced by increasing pressure from radio and T.V. station managers, bookstore owners, church leaders and Christians in general to stop speaking out against these powerful leaders. Doctrinally sound Christians cannot afford to sell out by a silence that results in complicity. We dare not undermine the foundations of the faith and turn our backs on Scripture to survive. If we do, our silence ends up endorsing the severely distorted view of God espoused by errant teachers."

How many churches will you have to attend before you hear the Word of God preached with power and conviction? Turn on your local "Christian" radio station and heresy abounds. Read many of the "Christian" magazines and heresy, pop psychology, and man's wisdom reigns supreme. Go to your local "Christian" bookstore and you will experience the same. It seems that if it sells it does not matter what the content of the book is, we indeed are serving mammon rather that God. I have heard more than one man of God say that Christian bookstores are minefields.

I have written Christian bookstores and asked them questions like, "How can you sell a book by a man that calls God the biggest failure in the Bible?" And, "How can you sell a book by this man when he says that Jesus is not God?" "How can you sell a book by a man that denies the Trinity?"

The response from these "Christian" institutions was indifference and condemnation to me for, "My problems with their theology." There indeed is a famine of God's Word throughout the world.

There indeed is as famine of God's word when millions of Christians follow men that deny the Trinity (T. D. Jakes,Tommy Tenney, and Arnold Murray). There indeed is as famine of God's word when millions of Christians follow false prophets (Kim Clement, John Kilpatrick, Benny Hinn, and Bishop Clarence McClendon).

There indeed is as famine of God's word when millions of Christians follow men that claim that Christians are god's (Ken Copeland, Crefflo Dollar, and Paul Crouch).

There indeed is as famine of God's word when God's sheep are fleeced again and again during "Christian" telethons with false prophets promising miracles to those that give money.

There indeed is as famine of God's word when Christian leaders for the most part are not only silent but they associate with said heretics.

Here is what Charles Spurgeon said about the "wretched indifferentism" of his day:

"We have been likened by one of our opponents to the boy in the fable who cried, "Wolf!" The parallel only fails in the all-important point that he cried "Wolf!" when there was none, and we are crying "Wolf!" when packs of them are howling so loudly that it would be superfluous for us to shout at all if a wretched indifferentism had not brought a deep slumber upon those who ought to guard the flocks. The evidence is to our mind so overwhelming that we thought that our statements only gave voice to a matter of common notoriety. Either we are dreaming, or our brethren are; let the godly judge who it is that is asleep."

Here is what Charles Spurgeon said about false teachers:

I cannot endure false doctrine, however neatly it may be put before me. Would you have me eat poisoned meat because the dish is of the choicest ware? It makes me indignant when I hear another gospel put before the people with enticing words by man who would fair make merchandise of souls; and I marvel at those who have soft words for such deceivers. "That is your bigotry," says one. Call it so if you like; but it is the BIGOTRY OF THE LOVING JOHN, who wrote, "If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him Godspeed; for he that biddeth him Godspeed is partaker of his evil deeds." I would to God we all had more of such decision, for the lack of it is depriving our religious life of its backbone and substituting for honest manliness a mass of tremulous jelly of mutual flattery. HE WHO DOES NOT HATE THE FALSE DOES NOT LOVE THE TRUE; and he to whom it is all the same, whether it be God's word or man's, is himself unrenewed at heart. Oh, if some of you were like your fathers, you would not have tolerated in this age the wagon loads of trash under which the gospel has been of late buried by ministers of your own choosing. The apostle spake by inspiration when he said, "If we or an angel from heaven preach to you any other gospel than that ye have received, let him be accursed." According to modern effeminacy he ought to have said, "Let him be kindly spoken with in private, but pray make no stir. No doubt the good brother has his own original modes of thought and we must not question his liberty. Doubtless he believes the same as we do, only there is some little difference as to terms." This is treason to Christ and treachery to truth and cruelty to souls. IF WE LOVE OUR LORD, WE SHALL KEEP HIS WORDS AND STAND FAST IN THE FAITH, coming out from among the false teachers. Nor is this inconsistent with charity; for the truest love to those who err is not to fraternize with them in their error, but to be faithful to Jesus Christ in all things."

J. Gresham Machen had some insightful thoughts on these leaders that tell us to just love everybody regardless of what they teach:

"That disaster is a figure of what will come of optimism in the churches of today. Superficially our ecclesiastical life seems to be progressing as it always did: the cabins are full of comfortable passengers; the orchestra is playing a lively air; the rows of lighted windows shine cheerfully out into the night. But all the time death is lurking beneath. In this time of deadly peril there are leaders who say that all is well; there are leaders who decry controversy and urge peace, declaring that the church is all perfectly loyal and true. God forgive them, brethren! I say it with all my heart: may God forgive them for the evil that they are doing to Christ’s little ones: may the Holy Spirit open their eyes while yet there is time! Meanwhile, in the case of many of the churches, the great ship rushes onward to the risk, at least, of doom."

Here is what Charles Spurgeon said about taking a stand:

"We admire a man who was firm in the faith, say four hundred years ago...but such a man today is a nuisance, and must be put down...Yet imagine in those ages past, Luther, Zwingle, Calvin, and their compeers had said, 'The world is out of order; but if we try to set it right we shall only make a great row, and get ourselves into disgrace. Let us go to our chambers, put on our night-caps, and sleep over the bad times, and perhaps when we wake up things will have grown better.' Such conduct on their part would have entailed upon us a heritage of error. Age after age would have gone down into the infernal deeps, and the pestiferous bogs of error would have swallowed all. These men loved the faith and the name of Jesus too well to see them trampled on.

It is today as it was in the Reformers days. Decision is needed. Here is the day for the man, where is the man for the day? We who have had the gospel passed to us by martyr hands dare not triffle with it, nor sit by and hear it denied by traitors, who pretend to love it, but inwardly abhor every line of it...Look you sirs, there are ages yet to come. If the Lord does not speedily appear, there will come another generation, and another, and all these generations will be tainted and injured if we are not faithful to God and to His truth today. We have come to a turning point in the road. If we turn to the right mayhap our children and our children's children will go that way; but if we turn to the left, generations yet unborn will curse our names for having been unfaithful to God and to His Word."

Martin Luther said the following:

"If I profess with the loudest voice and the clearest exposition every portion of the truth of God, except precisely that little point which the world and the devil are at that moment attacking, I am not confessing Christ, however boldly I may be professing Christ. Where the battle rages, there the loyalty of the soldier is proved."

Merrill F. Unger has well said:

"Deception will surely engulf people who follow man's voice instead of God's and who ride ecumenical trends that depreciate God's Word and approve false shepherds within the professing church."

I would like to thank God for the faithful shepherds that truly care for the sheep intrusted to them by God and speak out against this deception in the church. These men pay a heavy price for caring for the sheep. If only more men would weep as Paul did over the coming (Now here!) wolves in the church (Acts 20:26-31).

"Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables."

2 Timothy 4:2-4

"And he said, Hear thou therefore the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left. And the LORD said, Who shall persuade Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramothgilead? And one said on this manner, and another said on that manner. And there came forth a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will persuade him. And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt persuade him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so. Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil concerning thee."

1 Kings 22:19-23

"Therefore night shall be unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them. Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of God."

Micah 3:6-7

"And the child Samuel ministered unto the LORD before Eli. And the word of the LORD was precious in those days; there was no open vision."

1 Samuel 3:1

"And when Saul enquired of the LORD, the LORD answered him not, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets."

1 Samuel 28:6

"Now for a long season Israel hath been without the true God, and without a teaching priest, and without law. But when they in their trouble did turn unto the LORD God of Israel, and sought him, he was found of them."

2 Chronicles 15:3

"I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies. Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.

Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols."

Amos 5:21-23

"Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it. They that swear by the sin of Samaria, and say, Thy god, O Dan, liveth; and, The manner of Beersheba liveth; even they shall fall, and never rise up again."

Amos 8:11-14

"That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD: Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits: Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us."

Isaiah 30:9-11

"If a man walking in the spirit and falsehood do lie, saying, I will prophesy unto thee of wine and of strong drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people."

Micah 2:11

"A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land; The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?"

Jeremiah 5:30-31

"But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not."

2 Peter 2:1-3

"Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears."

Acts 20:28-31

"For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before."

Matthew 24:24-25

"Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves."

Matthew 7:15

"My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment."

James 3:1

"But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus."

2 Timothy 3:13-15

"Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds."

2 John 9-11

"Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple. For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil."

Romans 16:17-19

“Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.”

1 Timothy 4:13-16

"Woe to the idol shepherd that leaveth the flock! The sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened."

Zechariah 11:17

"I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine."

John 10:11-14

"All ye beasts of the field, come to devour, yea, all ye beasts in the forest. His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber. Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter. Come ye, say they, I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and to morrow shall be as this day, and much more abundant."

Isaiah 56:9-12

"For the idols have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie, and have told false dreams; they comfort in vain: therefore they went their way as a flock, they were troubled, because there was no shepherd. Mine anger was kindled against the shepherds, and I punished the goats: for the LORD of hosts hath visited his flock the house of Judah, and hath made them as his goodly horse in the battle."

Zechariah 10:2-3

"And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD unto the shepherds; Woe be to the shepherds of Israel that do feed themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the flocks? Ye eat the fat, and ye clothe you with the wool, ye kill them that are fed: but ye feed not the flock. The diseased have ye not strengthened, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up that which was broken, neither have ye brought again that which was driven away, neither have ye sought that which was lost; but with force and with cruelty have ye ruled them. And they were scattered, because there is no shepherd: and they became meat to all the beasts of the field, when they were scattered. My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and upon every high hill: yea, my flock was scattered upon all the face of the earth, and none did search or seek after them. Therefore, ye shepherds, hear the word of the LORD; As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely because my flock became a prey, and my flock became meat to every beast of the field, because there was no shepherd, neither did my shepherds search for my flock, but the shepherds fed themselves, and fed not my flock;

Therefore, O ye shepherds, hear the word of the LORD; Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against the shepherds; and I will require my flock at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the flock; neither shall the shepherds feed themselves any more; for I will deliver my flock from their mouth, that they may not be meat for them."

Ezekiel 34:1-10

"If there arises among you a prophet or a dreamer of dreams, and he gives you a sign or a wonder, and the sign or the wonder comes to pass, of which he spoke to you, saying, "Let us go after other gods'--which you have not known--"and let us serve them,' you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams, for the LORD your God is testing you to know whether you love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. You shall walk after the LORD your God and fear Him, and keep His commandments and obey His voice; you shall serve Him and hold fast to Him."

Deuteronomy 13:1-4

"Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. "

Acts 17:11

"Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks; I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars: And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted."

Revelation 2:1-3

"Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. Acts 20:28-31

"Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple."

Romans 16:17-18

"Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds."

2 John 9-11

"If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself."

1 Timothy 6:3-5

"This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away."

2 Timothy 3:1-5

"Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage--with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths."

2 Timothy 4:2-4

"I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ."

Galatians 1:6-9

"For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him......For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works."

2 Corinthians 11:2-4, 11-13

"But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine....These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee."

Titus 2:1,15

"Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once for all delivered unto the saints."

Jude 3

"Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers."

Titus 1:9

"But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus."

2 Timothy 3:13-15

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works."

2 Timothy 3:16-17

"Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world."

1 John 4:1

"Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves."

Matthew 7:15

"For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before."

Matthew 24:24-25

"But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not."

2 Peter 2:1-3

"For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ."

2 Corinthians 2:17

"Thy prophets have seen vain and foolish things for thee: and they have not discovered thine iniquity, to turn away thy captivity; but have seen for thee false burdens and causes of banishment."

Lamentations 2:14

"And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Barjesus: Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God. But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith. Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him. And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?

And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand."

Acts 13:6-11

"All ye beasts of the field, come to devour, yea, all ye beasts in the forest. His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber. Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter. Come ye, say they, I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and to morrow shall be as this day, and much more abundant."

Isaiah 56:9-12

"For among my people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men. As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and waxen rich. They are waxen fat, they shine: yea, they overpass the deeds of the wicked: they judge not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the right of the needy do they not judge. Shall I not visit for these things? saith the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this? A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land; The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?"

Jeremiah 5:26-31

"For the idols have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie, and have told false dreams; they comfort in vain: therefore they went their way as a flock, they were troubled, because there was no shepherd. Mine anger was kindled against the shepherds, and I punished the goats: for the LORD of hosts hath visited his flock the house of Judah, and hath made them as his goodly horse in the battle."

Zechariah 10:2-3

"Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD. They say still unto them that despise me, The LORD hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you. For who hath stood in the counsel of the LORD, and hath perceived and heard his word? who hath marked his word, and heard it? Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD is gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind: it shall fall grievously upon the head of the wicked.

The anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly. I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied. But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings. Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off? Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD. I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed. How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart; Which think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have forgotten my name for Baal. The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat? saith the LORD. Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces? Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that steal my words every one from his neighbour. Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that use their tongues, and say, He saith. Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, saith the LORD, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, saith the LORD."

Jeremiah 23:16-32

"They have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, The LORD saith: and the LORD hath not sent them: and they have made others to hope that they would confirm the word. Have ye not seen a vain vision, and have ye not spoken a lying divination, whereas ye say, The LORD saith it; albeit I have not spoken? Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have spoken vanity, and seen lies, therefore, behold, I am against you, saith the Lord GOD. And mine hand shall be upon the prophets that see vanity, and that divine lies: they shall not be in the assembly of my people, neither shall they be written in the writing of the house of Israel, neither shall they enter into the land of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD."

Ezekiel 13:6-9

"But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die. And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him."

Deuteronomy 18:20-22

"And the priest's custom with the people was, that, when any man offered sacrifice, the priest's servant came, while the flesh was in seething, with a fleshhook of three teeth in his hand; And he struck it into the pan, or kettle, or caldron, or pot; all that the fleshhook brought up the priest took for himself. So they did in Shiloh unto all the Israelites that came thither. Also before they burnt the fat, the priest's servant came, and said to the man that sacrificed, Give flesh to roast for the priest; for he will not have sodden flesh of thee, but raw. And if any man said unto him, Let them not fail to burn the fat presently, and then take as much as thy soul desireth; then he would answer him, Nay; but thou shalt give it me now: and if not, I will take it by force. Wherefore the sin of the young men was very great before the LORD: for men abhorred the offering of the LORD."

2 Samuel 2:12-17

"Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman: If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people; Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head. He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul. But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand. So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me. When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul. Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel; Thus ye speak, saying, If our transgressions and our sins be upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live? Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel? Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth. When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it. Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right; If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die. None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live. Yet the children of thy people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal. When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby. But if the wicked turn from his wickedness, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby. Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. O ye house of Israel, I will judge you every one after his ways. And it came to pass in the twelfth year of our captivity, in the tenth month, in the fifth day of the month, that one that had escaped out of Jerusalem came unto me, saying, The city is smitten. Now the hand of the LORD was upon me in the evening, afore he that was escaped came; and had opened my mouth, until he came to me in the morning; and my mouth was opened, and I was no more dumb. Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Son of man, they that inhabit those wastes of the land of Israel speak, saying, Abraham was one, and he inherited the land: but we are many; the land is given us for inheritance. Wherefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Ye eat with the blood, and lift up your eyes toward your idols, and shed blood: and shall ye possess the land? Ye stand upon your sword, ye work abomination, and ye defile every one his neighbour's wife: and shall ye possess the land? Say thou thus unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; As I live, surely they that are in the wastes shall fall by the sword, and him that is in the open field will I give to the beasts to be devoured, and they that be in the forts and in the caves shall die of the pestilence. For I will lay the land most desolate, and the pomp of her strength shall cease; and the mountains of Israel shall be desolate, that none shall pass through. Then shall they know that I am the LORD, when I have laid the land most desolate because of all their abominations which they have committed. Also, thou son of man, the children of thy people still are talking against thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the LORD. And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness. And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not. And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come,) then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them."

All I can say is, as in the words of Corrie ten Boom in the Hiding Place -

" Sometimes when human nature has done its best and failed, God's power alone is free to work."

" The Ten Boom family were devoted Christians who dedicated their lives in service to their fellow man. Their home was always an "open house" for anyone in need. Through the decades the Ten Booms were very active in social work in Haarlem, and their faith inspired them to serve the religious community and society at large.

During the Second World War, the Ten Boom home became a refuge, a hiding place, for fugitives and those hunted by the Nazis. By protecting these people, Casper and his daughters, Corrie and Betsie, risked their lives. This non-violent resistance against the Nazi-oppressors was the Ten Booms' way of living out their Christian faith. This faith led them to hide Jews, students who refused to cooperate with the Nazis, and members of the Dutch underground resistance movement.

During 1943 and into 1944, there were usually 6-7 people illegally living in this home: 4 Jews and 2 or 3 members of the Dutch underground. Additional refugees would stay with the Ten Booms for a few hours or a few days until another "safe house" could be located for them. Corrie became a ringleader within the network of the Haarlem underground. Corrie and "the Beje group" would search for courageous Dutch families who would take in refugees, and much of Corrie's time was spent caring for these people once they were in hiding. Through these activities, the Ten Boom family and their many friends saved the lives of an estimated 800 Jews, and protected many Dutch underground workers.

On February 28, 1944, this family was betrayed and the Gestapo (the Nazi secret police) raided their home. The Gestapo set a trap and waited throughout the day, seizing everyone who came to the house. By evening about 30 people had been taken into custody! Casper, Corrie and Betsie were all arrested. Corrie’s brother Willem, sister Nollie, and nephew Peter were at the house that day, and were also taken to prison.

Although the Gestapo systematically searched the house, they could not find what they sought most. They suspected Jews were in the house, but the Jews were safely hidden behind a false wall in Corrie’s bedroom. In this "hiding place" were two Jewish men, two Jewish women and two members of the Dutch underground. Although the house remained under guard, the Resistance was able to liberate the refugees 47 hours later. The six people had managed to stay quiet in their cramped, dark hiding place for all that time, even though they had no water and very little food. The four Jews were taken to new "safe houses," and three survived the war. One of the underground workers was killed during the war years, but the other survived.

Because underground materials and extra ration cards were found in their home, the Ten Boom family was imprisoned. Casper (84 years old) died after only 10 days in Scheveningen Prison. When Casper was asked if he knew he could die for helping Jews, he replied, "It would be an honor to give my life for God's ancient people." Corrie and Betsie spent 10 months in three different prisons, the last was the infamous Ravensbruck Concentration Camp located near Berlin, Germany. Life in the camp was almost unbearable, but Corrie and Betsie spent their time sharing Jesus' love with their fellow prisoners. Many women became Christians in that terrible place because of Corrie and Betsie's witness to them. Betsie (59) died in Ravensbruck, but Corrie survived."

Many of you will be delighted to know that I have decided to leave. This time I will not be returning.

There is a certain group who are more focused on the lynching of anointed born-again preachers of the gospel, than you are on the corruption of young minds that read Harry Potter and watch J K Rowling's movies ,concerning satanic witchcraft, sorcery, enchanters and necromancy, with the possibility of opening the door to the occult.

Does it not concern that same group that 20% of the world's population is of the Islamic faith, with those numbers growing rapidly?

The "Exposing False Teaching" camp doesn't seem too concerned about the fact that The DaVinci Code, which purports to distort the Bible throughtout the whole book and denies the very diety of Jesus, is selling millions and millions of copies, with a movie coming next year?

The devil is splitting his sides laughing over this one, because he has cleverly diverted your attention to the wrong 'heretics.' [Cross]

Perhaps the One who has made this ACCUSATION would care to explain their lack of presence on this thread: http://thechristianbbs.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=002182 ???

Or the myrid of discussions in the End Times Section on the topic of Islam (or the many that have been had in the past)?

This Blatent False Accusing has got to stop.

HisGrace,

Whether you go or stay, it honestly does not matter to me. But, I do think it will matter to Jesus that you defend Preachers who sugar-coat the Gospel and water-down the Gospel in order to have more people attend Church and more money in the offeriing. The only people we have made comments about are false prophets. Since you have issues with that, you are in fact endorsing false prophets, which makes you on equal footing with a false prophet.

How about that quote, your source please!
Is it easier to leave than give your source?

and yes there is a certain group here on this board that are focused

we are focused on the teachings of Yeshua, not on the perverted teachings of Kenneth Copland, Benny Hinn, Paul Crouch, Kim Clemment, Jerry Servelle, Rod Parsley, Paula White, Joyce Myres, Joel Osteen, Bob Tiltion ....

we are also focused against corruption of young minds that read Harry Potter and watch J K Rowling's movies ,concerning satanic witchcraft, sorcery, enchanters and necromancy, with the possibility of opening the door to the occult and the so called Christians that think it is OK to practice these thing and still call yourself a Child of Yahweh

we are also concerned about that 20% of the world's population is of the Islamic faith, with those numbers growing rapidly?

we are also concerned about the fact that The DaVinci Code, which purports to distort the Bible throughtout the whole book and denies the very diety of Jesus, is selling millions and millions of copies, with a movie coming next year

and The devil is splitting his sides laughing over deceived people like yourself that beleive anything and everthing goes for the person that claims to be a Christian even if there has been no change in the heart

Linda, Drew, Bettie, Wparr, Softtouch, Hardcore, Andyman and myself don't agree on Once Saved Always Saved

but we do agree that the scriptures are the only source for truth

Could you please give page # or chapter #
I think that you have quoted Corrie ten Boom out of context she is not an easy beleivism teacher, in fact she is as I am, she does not beleive in "Once Saved Always Saved"

This is the last paragraph of Chapter 8 in The Hiding Place, the chapter being called Storm Clouds Gather.

Her family was still at home and they had concerns that the Gestapo was closing in on them for giving refuge to fugitives and those hunted by the Nazis during WWII -

"Once again they considered stopping the work. Once again we discovered we could not.

That night Father, Betsie and I prayed long after the others had gone to bed. We knew that in spite of daily mounting risks we had no choice but to move forward. This was evil's hour; we could not run away from it. Perhaps only when human effort had done its best and failed, would God's power alone be free to work."

CBJ,

I am in agreement with you! I think it's also very sad and all of the the fighting is not at all glorifying to God either. Rather than a second re-run of this thread which is what this is, a topic more edifying to God would be very refreshing and more desirable. Thanks so much for your posting! God bless!

I am new here and I really don't know how to reply to this. I agree with all that helpforhomeschoolers wrote. I feel exactly that way.
All I know about Joel Osteen is a preacher that is a feel good preacher. To me that is like a rah rah class or motivational class. Which can be a good thing but I believe the whole Bible should be taught. We are suppose to fear God and turn away from sin.
I have a hard time with all of the tv evangelist pleading over and over to sow a seed when they live in huge houses and have millions of dollars. They also make it sound if you sow your seed you will be monetarily blessed.
Of course they say God goes first class. God not intend all of us to be rich and well off. I also don't think he wants his name used to make millions.
All I know is that Jesus feels for the poor and it is easier for them to get to heaven than a rich man. It is ok to make the money honestly but how you use it is the important thing. It should be used for God's purposes...Feeding the poor, helping the sick, missions, etc.

Posted by Gramajo320 (Member # 4667) on :

Joel Osteen gives millions of dollars to Feed The Children, to the food banks, to the tsunami victims, to the missions! That is a very well known fact. Joel Osteen doesn't even accept a salary from his church. The good news is that only God can see into each and every single person's heart and God most assuredly knows who His annoited ministers are and that's excellent! Truly there are true annoited ministers folks!

This is what Jesus has to say about the poor:

Mark 14:3-9

And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as He sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box od ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box and poured it on His head.

And there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said, Why was this waste of ointment made? For it might have been sold for more than three hundred pence and have been given to the poor. And they murmured against her.

And Jesus said, "Let her alone; why trouble thou her? she hath wrought a good work on me. For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good; but Me ye have not always."

It appears to me that Jesus wants us to help the poor, and we will always have poor people.

He also is annointed by the woman and he blesses her sacrifice in that the ointment was expensive.

We are to give the best to the Lord, not to the poor. When we give the best to the Lord, the poor are also blessed.

It also teaches that religion is not a cut and dried set of rules and regulations.

In this situation Jesus found her gift worthy and did not berate her for NOT giving alms to the poor.

When my family was visiting churches to find a church home, we would visit a church for about a month before visiting another church. What we found, to our dismay, was that all the preachers were giving motivational talks or life application sermons. Not one of them presented a clear presentation of the Gospel and not one of them ever said what the consequences would be if you did not accept Christ as your Savior.

Posted by yahsway (Member # 3738) on :

BB, My husband and I have done and found out the same. Its a trickle down effect I suppose. Our ex-pastor just loved Joel Olsteen. We would go in every Sunday and repeat "This is my bible" ect.. It became such a ritual. And he spoke a lot like Joel Olsteen.

But keep seeking. There are some assemblies out there, though few in numbers I suspect, that are still preaching out of the scriptures. But most of them are not mega or large assemblies.

May Yahweh bless you in your search. Shalom

Perhaps you all should have a separate locked forum for those of you who are OK being a part of "Christians behaving badly"! Here's why: When I mentioned the infighting, and a member of good-standing here agreed with me, TEXASGRANDMA quickly ran interception by saying this:

See, she had to REMIND Gramajo about the motive behind the infighting, to which (God bless), Gramajo replied:

quote:

What a shame. Who's really leading whom around here?

CBJ, the infighting you speak of was going on in other threads, so the moderators decided to make a thread specifically for those who wanted to discuss false teaching.

TexasGrandma was just reminding GrandmaJo that this particular forum is for those who want to have constructive talks about False teachings.

If anyone doe not want to participate in these discussions they do not have to. It was getting so heated in the other forums, so we now have this one for those of us who wish to discuss what we see and hear coming from different teachers and preachers in these last days.

GrandmaJo said she wanted a topic "more edifying to God" which is what the other forums are for. But this forum is titled "Exposing False Teachings".

CBJ,

yahsway was indeed correct. I was in no way offense to GramaJo. In fact GramaJo is a friend of mine.
I was just trying to say as gently as possible that if you go the be exposing false teaching board, that you should not be surprised that the subject is exposing false teaching. Kind of like complaining about baseball in a ball park. But no offense was meant fo GramaJo and she knew that.
I honestly am wroking harder on getting my point without being offensive. I have to admit that God is working on me but at the same time, a Christian should not lay down their princples for the sake of unity. That is why America is in the shame she is in. For too many years Christians have stayed silent while our rights are being taken away little by little. The Gospel of Christ is precious and no Christian should stay silent while preachers sell the Gospel for a price.

The Holy Spirit assures me that what I am led to do is the right thing for me to do. God does know and always will know who all of His annoited ministers are who preach the very true living gospel of Jesus Christ. God blesses them very much!

Just out of curiosity. This is for everyone how do you know if a minister is annointed. I mean I could listen to a guy and he could sit well with my spirit then say someone else listens to the same sermon and is like "whoa hold on this guy is saying things contrary to the word of God."
I will be very interested to see whatkind of a response I get to this.

You should take everything the pastor or teacher says and make sure it lines up with the word of God. Nothing added or taken away.

AMEN yahsway. If their words don't line up with scripture, as is, they're not "annointed".

SO then what you are saying is that almost every preacher that you see on TBN or some of the other stations are not annointed. Interesting.

I have made it a point to watch some TBN the last few days. There are some good anointed preachers on there but then there also some preachers who have forsaken the truth. The best thing one can do is to pray that the Holy Spirit will open your eyes as you listen to preachers.

hardcore says
quote:
If their words don't line up with scripture, as is, they're not "anointed".
uh...aren't all Christians automatically "anointed" by becoming Christians?

Luke 11:13
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

We only have to "ask him".

Romans 8:15
For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but you have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

John 15:26
But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send to you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceeds from the Father, he shall testify of me.

Receiving the Spirit IS being "anointed". All Christians are automatically "anointed" upon believing.

1 Corinthians 2:12
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

God bless, [Cross] BORN AGAIN

Hey BA, You are quoting hardcore "as is".

As far as your question though about being
Christians being "annointed", well duh, thats what the word "Christian" means. The annointed Ones.

I said in my previous post that "You should take everything that preacher or teacher says and make sure it lines up with the scriptures. Nothing added or taken away."

I agree with you. Our Baptist Preacher in Texas and the one here in Washington State both says very often, that we should verify what they say with the Bible. If every Preacher would do this there would be less false Gospel being preached today.
