Dubai Ports World is owned by the United Arab Emirates government (royal family.) They just bought out Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Co., based in London, which managed six US ports: New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Baltimore, New Orleans, Miami. This was reported by Ted Bridie, Associated Press.

Not mentioned in the AP story was the fact that previously, Dubai Ports World bought out CSX Corporation which provides "rail, inter-modal, and rail to truck transload services...connecting more than 70 river, ocean, and lake ports, as well as more than 200 short line railroads."

CSX also own The Greenbriar (the West Virginia resort with the government in exile Cold War bunker built under it.)

Nobody in the Bush Administration seems to be concerned. Should we be?
