Where have I been?

by Lee Strobel, 12.20.2007

I’m writing this at the Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City at the conclusion of a long but extremely satisfying book tour that began last August. It has been a thrill to travel 35,308 miles (almost one-and-a-half times around the earth) and speak about The Case for the Real Jesus to more than 107,634 people at megachurches, conferences, universities, and special events from New York to San Francisco.

The biggest news: along the way, at least 862 people made decisions to trust in Christ. That certainly made the travel hassles worth it!

One highlight was speaking at the University of Missouri, where I received my journalism degree more than 30 years ago. We were stunned when nearly 2,000 students showed up on a busy night to hear about the evidence for Christ.

I wonder how my life might have turned out differently if someone had invited me to an event like that when I was a spiritually skeptical student.

I hope during this Christmas season that we’ll all take risks to reach out to seekers with the good news about the divine child in the manger.
