I just saw the below post on another Christian message board:

The PTL Challenge is great!

http://www.challengeblasphemy.com/

Have any of you ever seen any of the videos on the Blasphemy Challenge? They're awful--will shock you, break your heart and leave you shaking your head. I can't believe these people!!!

Question, tho? Are these people now condemned to Hell? What if they later realize how idiotic they were and accept Christ as Lord and Savior? I know Jesus said this sin is unforgivable, but will it keep them out of Heaven? Are they now unable to repent and accept Jesus?

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
You can see what they say on www.blasphemychallenge.com

My wife and I have been having sort of a debate about this. Can they still be saved?

I tell you the truth, all the sins and blasphemies of men will be forgiven them. But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin.”

Mark 3:28 - Mark 3:29 (NIV)

Please let me know what you think.

I went to that link and I honestly do not think they can be saved. It breaks my heart that people would be willing to lose their mortal soul all in the name of a joke. It grieves my spirit that someone could take the unpardonable sin and make a joke of it.

I hope that guy is right, but I have known of one person who had been raised in a Christian home, who when we was drunk blasphemed the Holy Spirit and he was dead in less than a week. The site shows Scripture, that shows it is an unpardonable sin. People who do the video know they are committing the sin, so they doing so, willingly. Will God harden their hearts like He did Pharaoh? I do not know. But I do believe those who doing that , are treading on dangerous ground.

Now if a person, did do that and got convicted and fell on their face before God, then obviously God is giving them a second chance. For the Bible makes it clear that no one can be saved unless they are led to repent by the Holy Spirit.

I asked the Pastor from the Church that I grew up in and here is his response:

"I do believe that the unpardonable sin is the sin that will not be forgiven. Maybe the bigger mystery is.....what the sin actually is. I think that it is more than just verbal. As with all sin, it comes from deep within the heart. Probably most people who reach that level of rebellion, never really seek God again."

I have to agree that once a person commits the unpardonable sin, he will never seek God again. Simply, because the Holy Spirit will never invite him to, again. Once the invitation to accept God is removed by the Holy Spirit, that person's fate is set. Now the question should not be how far we can go and still have a second chance, but to accept Jesus now. Most people who are in hell, are not there from committing the unpardonable sin, but for waiting to long to to accept Jesus. None of us have a guarantee how long we will live.
The time to accept Jesus is now, today.

The only unforgivable sin is blaspheming the Holy Spirit by calling Him a liar and refusing the salvation God has provided through Jesus. In other words - saying the Gospel is not true and refusing to repent.
