I am a member of an Prayer online group that emials prayer request.
I got an email asking me to pray for someone. I emailed them back I would and got this reply
------------------

Dear One In Christ,

I greet you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and thank you for the response. We have to worship the Lord with all our heart because we have determined to remain under the covering of His anointing, Obedience to His purpose and living a life that honours Him will keep us under His hand of blessing.

I am Mrs.MARY IBRAHIM from Rep Of MALI in West Africa. I am married to Mr IBRAHIM PHILIP who was a former staff with the Malian Embassy in Ivory Coast for nine years before he died in the year 2003.We were married for eleven years without a child. He died after a brief illness that lasted for only four days. Before his death we were both born again Christians.

Since his death I decided not to remarry or get a child outside my matrimonial home because the Bible is against that. When my late husband was alive he deposited the sum of US$4.5million dollars in a Bank here in Abidjan Cote d'Ivoire which was a proceed from his landed properties he sold here when the civil war escalated. Presently, this money is still in bank.

I have been hospitalised for long due to cancer problems and strokes. Recently, my Doctor told me that I would not last for the next Eight months because of the sickness.Because of my condition,I have decided to donate the money left by my late husband to charitable orgainisations and churches.Hence the reason why I am contacting you.I want an organization that will use this fund for orphanages, school and church ,widows, propagating the word of God and to endeavour that the house of God is maintained. The Bible made us to understand that "Blessed is the hand that giveth".I took this decision because I don't have any child that will inherit this money and my husband relatives are not Christians and I don't want my husband's efforts to be used by unbelievers. I don't want the money to be used in an ungodly way. This is why I am taking this decision. I am not afraid of death hence I know where I am going. I know that I am going to be in the bosom of the Lord. Exodus 14 VS 14 says that "the lord will fight my case and I shall hold my peace".

I don't need any telephone communication in this because of the presence of my husband's relatives around me always. I don't want them to know about this development. With God all things are possible. As soon as I receive your reply I shall give you the contact of the bank where the funds is deposited here in ABIDJAN.I want you to pray for me always. My happiness is that I lived the life of a worthy christain.Whoever that wants to serve the Lord must do it in spirit and Truth.

Any delay in your reply will give me room in sourcing another church / Organisation or individual for this same purpose. Please assure me that you will act accordingly as I Stated herein. Hoping to receive your reply.

Remain blessed in the Lord.

MARY IBRAHIM

I think you are Very Wise to be so cautious!!! There are many Scams coming from Africia like this. We've gotten emails that sound similar. They always ask you to deposit their money into your account... that way, they get your account information. I would pass this up if I were you Sis... it sounds fishy.

Remember, the Devil transforms himself into an angel of light and his workers transform themselves into deceptive forms as well...

Dateline is on right now telling about e-mail scams asking for help and telling the stories of those who fell for the scams. Dateline is doing investigating. The Dateline program is titled On The Hunt.

someone posted about a scam on a forum I'm on. It was similar yet not identical. I told him to give them thenumber to a payphone or since you love Bush so much, maybe the oval office [Smile]

definately a scam. They may try to get your info, maybe they can get your social security thourgh it someway, i dunno. Its sad to use good Chrsitians as pawns in this. I think you should use discernment very much here. I don't trust it. And, even if you dont trust soemthing like this a little, its not worth the risk. I dont wanna see you scammed for money or info or whatever have you so I'd say dont do it. They may also send you a virus in their reply too I'm guessing as the attachment with "info." same advice I told the other person too, maybe they wanna send a virus for the scam maybe they also wanna do the getting info and money from you.

I'd definatley pray to God and ask Him on this before any further decision.

The Dateline program titled On The Hunt on MSNBC tonight had a very good investigative report on these e-mail scams that ask for money and promise you money in turn for helping them. It's all just a big scam. They're after your bank account information and once they have that they'll clean out any money you may have in accounts. So it's best to totally ignore those e-mails and requests.

I feel its impossible for someone not to have contacts or anyone they'd want the money with. Or even charity. That is what makes it so fishy, and the amount of monye. its not even thousands but millions. I feel numbers like that draw people in and they neglect the fine print.

Scam, scam, scam. Also funny how she says she didn't want to remarry because the Bible was against that....which shows a distinct lack of knowledge of the Bible, which encourages widows of marrying age to remarry.
