I have a question. I play a game where you make people, singles, couples etc.
With couples it is suggested that you check their sign so that you put people together
who will get along with each other. The games came with a paper that has what sign gets along with one another.

Mind you I do not read my horoscope. But is it a sin to check out that paper when I make my people for my game?
Thanks
betty

I would personally not feel comfortable consulting that chart in the situation you described. I am sure you might even have more fun without using it and seeing what happens.

I don't have a good feeling about it either, TexasGrandma. You may be opening up some unwanted doors.

It is weird, I played version one of the game for 6 years and I have played version two for one year and never felt guilty about it. But, I read a book the other day that mentioned that astrology was of the devil. Like I said I don't read my horoscope and haven't in 25 years. Back before that I did and back then it was not even preached in Churches against it but when it was I stopped. But, I never felt guilty checking my people for the game. But now I am confused about it.
But, I will take your advice. Because I would rather played the game without it then sin.
thanks for both your responses.

Believers are in constant spiritual purification in order to bring us up to new levels in our faith walk.

I used to play online card games, but a couple of years ago I was playing Solitaire and the Lord prompted me not to do this anymore. I didn't queston my conviction; I just knew that I must stop. I haven't played since, and to me it's not worth arguing with God about it.

Amen Sister his Grace. If we only hear that clearly and could be that steadfast in our obedience of all things he says to us how much easier life would be.

I have always been the stuborn type and God has had to tell me more than once or in more than one way about most things.

Thank God he meets us where we are and is longsuffering or he would have left me behind long ago. I have been so stubborn about some things in my life God has had to speak to me in my sleep to get my attention.

Praise God he has changed that in me to a great degree and I can hear a lot more quickly than before, but I admire that "God said it and I heard it and that is it" kind of obedience. It has come to me with much difficulty.

Grandma Betty, I think that His Grace is right about constant spiritual purification in order to bring us up to new levels in our faith walk.

You have been doing some mighty powerful preaching here as of late and I think that that fits right into this idea of new levels in your walk, so it does not surprise me that he might also be peeling away a layer of something with this horoscope thing.

All I can say is that astrology is pure bunk. I mean, c'mon... what does the alignment of celestial bodies when you're born have to do with your personality? There's not even a correlation, let alone a causal connection. And the descriptions of people with different signs are so vague, they could apply to pretty much anyone, no matter when they were born. And there's more, if you're interested.

So when people try to match up with others based on star signs, I just have to laugh. Silly, silly humans! [Razz]

I don't believe in the horoscopes and find most just so random it can mean anyone. I did read up on my birth sign many many years ago. I know that my son and I are born under the same sign and we share the same characteristics where as my daughter and I are opposite on many fronts and yet I raised both children. My son and I share the same temperament and we react the same.
So, I believe that when we are born can affect us to some degree, but I do not believe we should use a horoscope to guide our life. Jesus and God's Word should be our only guide.
