Hi! [wave3] I'm new here. I'm not quite sure where I go to introduce myself but I have a quick question that came to me last night. Please excuse my ignorance, I'm very new to the Bible and all of the correct terms/lingo that's used! [Wink] LOL

If a man or woman were divorced and remarried to another person, then later discovers Jesus and wants to be repent and be reborn. Would he or she have to give up their "new" marriage to fully do that? Or would their life just "begin again" from that point forward and the first marriage be "null and void" - for lack of a better term??

LOL This isnt me! [pound] I know it sounds like an "I have this 'friend'..." question. It just popped into my head last night while I was reading the Bible and it truely baffled me.

Thank you for your insite [Wink]
Amy

Welcome to the Board amy - always nice to see new members [wave3]

I believe you have hit the nail on the head. We are totally forgiven for all of the past, upon salvation, so the first marriage would be wiped out, in my opinion.

Hi Amy!!

I agree with HisGrace. All past sins are wiped out! Isn't that awesome!

not that I believe divorce and re-marriage is sinning. it depends on the circumstances.

I hope to one day be married again!

Blessings!

I would also like to say that I agree. When one receives Christ through faith and repents of all prior sins, they receive a clean slate in the eyes of the Lord.

Welcome Amy! [Smile]

By the grace of God, our sins are washed away when we are reborn. [clap2] Praise God!

And, I don't think Jesus/God would want us to divorce again to make things worse. [Smile]

God bless and welcome. [Prayer]
