Here is what happens when people want freedom in the privacy of their homes carried beyond what God ordains. In this nation it is alarming to see how many claim to be Christians and do not want laws against homosexuality. This all stems from hearts that turn from God to personal pleasure. Right above responsibilities and holiness. Having relationships with animals as being legal is just another step into depravity just like not having laws against homosexuality is a step into depravity. Certainly both those who carry out these acts and those who want no laws againt them have lost their way and will hear I never knew you since they reject the ways of God.

INCREASING PROBLEM:
Swedes have more and more animal sex
Av Øyvind Ludt og Carin Pettersson 26.01.04 12:24

Animal sex is not illegal in Sweden, and every year between 200 and 300 pets are injured because of sexual assaults.

The estimate was presented by Svenska Veterinärforbundet, the Swedish veterinary organization, and it is now trying to make the authorities and the public more aware of animals’ suffering. The organization claim the problem has increased during the last couple of years, even if most people are unaware of it.

“We have seen an increase since 1999 when child pornography became illegal,” said Johan Beck-Friis. “It appears, in other words, as there are some people who have replaced children with animals. In both circumstances, it is sex with defenseless individuals.”

The injuries inflicted on animals after sexual assaults are of the same character of those children get. Beck-Friis said that the most common injuries are wounds on the sex organs and blisters.

Animal porn
The fact that animal sex is becoming an increasing problem can be indicated by the mere fact that there is an increasing selection of animal porn at video rentals and there an increasingly number of websites with animal pornography is surfacing.

No one knows for sure how many animals that are abused, but a British study from 2001 indicates that every 20th dog or cat that receives treatment at veterinaries, the injuries are not a result of a direct accident, but the animal has been inflicted the injury as a result of a sexual assault.

According to the Swedish paper Expressen, if the same estimate can be used in Sweden that will indicate that 200 to 300 dogs and cats every year are injured as a result of sexual assaults.

Not illegal
In contrast with most other countries, animal sex is not illegal in Sweden. It was decriminalized in 1944 in connection with the decriminalization of homosexual sex.

Having sex with animals IS effectively a criminal offence in Sweden. There are a whole range of laws that cover the subject although there is no specific offence of 'Beastiality' (in common with many other countries in the world I might add).

This is just another one of those half baked stories that does the rounds of the conservative, fundermentalist web-sites with very little basis in fact and even less meaning.

A poor attemp to smear gay people and equate them with sheep-worriers and child molestors.

Can you give a source for that study as I can find no evidence for it at all.

Also, you might like to get your calculator and do the maths. Only 6000 cats and dogs treated for ALL injuries in Sweden in an average year? A country with a (human) population of 9 million and a dog / cat poulation of 800,000 and 1.4million respectively? Either their cats and dogs are particularly safety conscious (having a casualty rate of 0.0027% p.a) or that story is a load of old hokum.

This is a strong accusation! But in the stage the heart of man is that could be possible!

Sad but the word of the Lord tells us of this acts in the Old Testament.

A strong, and entirely unattributed accusation which, according to my vet is 'Absolute *%$£@~# '

I ask again. Can anyone provide a source for this putative 'survey' ?

That is exactly what has been reposted at the top of the thread.

I ask for a third time. Can anyone give a scource for this claimed "British study from 2001"

You might like to know that he nearest I have found is this page from the British Small Animal Veterinary Association which certainly makes no mention of 'one in twenty' animals.

Also the main British animal welfare organisation, the RSPCA makes no mention of it either. You can see for yourself here.

A search of Google using "Animal", "survey", "abuse", "Sexual" etc in various combinations leads only back to this same story or to unrelated stories not connected to this issue.

None of the British newspapers seem to cover any such 'survey' in 2001 or any other year come to that.

I have e-mailed the authors of the report but so far I have not recieved any reply.

I'll also take the liberty of repeating a part of one of my earlier posts as nobody seems to have actually bothered reading it....

Please, I beseach you, try to apply your critical faculties to this sort of tabloid trash before you pass it off as fact.

One must not overlook the fact that TWO Swedish sources were used (Svenska Veterinärforbundet, the Swedish veterinary organization, plus a Swedish newspaper, "Expressen") to corroborate this news report.

Also note that in the same Expressen article 93% of the readers voted for an immediate change of the law to end this sad problem. The fact that both bestiality and animal porn are legal and freely available in video stores says enough to me about the state of societal degeneracy. So there is an obviously justifiable cause for concern in Sweden sufficient to warrant the printing of such an article, despite your assertions to the contrary.

Not exactly; unfortunately, my research indicates that bestiality in Sweden has been a well-documented, established practice there for many centuries.

Further, when the law against homosexual acts between consenting adults was lifted in 1944, acts of bestiality were no longer deemed a crime unless they could be judged as cruelty to animals!

Thus, there is much legitimate cause for concern over animal abuse in Sweden.

haha! Beastiality has NOTHING to do with homosexuality. What are you trying to prove? That Homosexuality should be outlawed? While there are reasons to disdain homosexals, this is NOT one of them. Tell me, how do you link homosexuality to beastiality?

This is the most absurd arguement i've ever heard attacking homosexuality.

Hardly. There is a wealth of information on the Net that you might want to avail yourself of regarding societal depravity in Sweden and the declining role of the Christian Church there. It is common knowledge that Sweden has long upheld and practiced liberal sexual values without any moral boundaries, which certainly suggests a weakening belief in God.

For starters, however, may I suggest that you direct your inquiries to the Swedish lawmakers who tied the decriminalization of bestiality together with decriminalization of homosexuality. Also, please be sure to share your findings with us as to their reasons for doing so, which I'm sure will be most fascinating!

I found nothing saying the lawmakers ever tied homosexuality and beastiality together. I guess I lose.

heh.

That's not at all what I said. What I'm concerned with is their reason(s) for decriminalizing both acts. The history link I provided earlier in this thread corroborates the opening article from Nettavisen posted by Borntwice; it also makes it clear that laws decriminalizing both homosexuality and bestiality were passed at the same time in 1944 in Sweden -- the point being that when one became permissible, the other was also an eventuality.

Of even greater concern is that Swedish Parliamentarian, Gustav Fridolin tried to introduce a bill banning bestiality through the Swedish Parliament (Riksdagen) last year to remedy the problem of growing animal abuse, but the proposal failed after only six representatives supported it.
