In the Bible, Revelations 8, tells of a series of angels, each of whom herald one of a series of disasters,
culminating in the final Armageddon.
It is interesting to examine the story
of the third angel.

" And the third angel sounded and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon a third part of the rivers, and upon the fountain of the waters; and the star is called Wormwood;
and the third part of the waters became wormwood;
And many men died of the waters,
because they were made bitter. "

The Ukranian word for Wormwood
is Chernobyl.

After the Chernobyl nuclear power plant explosion, the desperate race
to under fill the plant was to prevent leakage into the water table.
Many people believe the job was
inadequately carried out and that we have not yet heard the last of
Wormwood.
