Have you ever known a case where the devil has brutally attacked a friend of yours and they finally seemed to have overcome the enemy, but after some time the enemy comes back with full force again

I prayed for such a friend and a few months back finally had the assurance of Psalm 18:42,43
I ground them as fine as just carried by the wind. I swept them into the gutter like dirt. You gave me victory over my accusers.

With this new attack, I doubted God and asked "Sorry God but I thought the enemy was totally defeated, so I am tempted to tell you that you told me a lie."

However, I feel as if he is answering me back by saying that there is a brand new demon that has to be overcome.

Now he has given me Mark 11:22-24
The Jesus said to the disciples. "Have faith in God. I assure you that you can say to this mountain.'May God lift you up and throw you up and throw you into the sea.' and your command will be obeyed. All that's required is that you really believe and do not doubt in your heart Listen to me. You can pray for anything and if you believe, you will have it."

There are also other verses that say we do not get our prayers answered because we ask with wrong motives or because it simply is not God's will. I do not imply that your motives are impure, because I certainly do not believe it is so, but I do believe that it is not always God's will to do things as we think they should be.

Laurie I was talking more in the terms of personal temptations. It did look as if this person had been totally released from the bonds of a certain area in their life, but recently I have reason to believe that the old temptations have come back.

We would have to ask the question, did this person do something to open the door for the devil to squeeze back into their lives?
