I Wish I Knew
Haven't you often heard people say 'I wish I
knew what to do about this?'. It may concern most any item of life from
a choice in business to some minor decision in home economics. My sister
gave me a Scripture passage when I left home that has been a tremendous
blessing to me. It is Proverbs 3:5,6, 'Trust in the Lord with all thine
heart; and lean not unto thine own under-standing. In all thy ways
acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.'
Do you know why we as Christians often blunder,
fumble and stumble? We don't actually practice the instruction of the
above verses. I challenge you to try it the next time you make a
decision in life. But be sure you follow it implicitly and explicitly.
Here is the way it breaks down:

No 1 ---TRUST GOD wholeheartedly.

No. 2 --- DON'T TRUST yourself. "Thine own understanding.' Your mind may
say the action is right; the Holy Spirit may say otherwise. He's always
right even if it makes you 100% wrong.

No. 3 --- CONSIDER GOD in all decisions, small or great. He is
interested. What does 'in all ...acknowledge Him' mean? It means what 1
Corinthians 10:31 says, 'Whether therefore ye eat, or drink or
whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.' We don't often do this
and that's why we get into a peck of trouble.

No. 4 --- LET GOD direct your paths. "He shall direct thy paths'. But
how? Oh! He has sign posts and indicators along the way. Here are a few:

HIS WORD - all decisions must be in focus with God's Word: THE HOLY
SPIRIT - He, Who speaks to your own heart: then there is THE PEACE AND
REST that God gives when a right decision is made.
You may KNOW the best for your life.
Amen
