ISRAEL HEADS FOR WAR WITH SYRIA

TEL AVIV [MENL] -- Israel's military has been preparing for the increasing prospect of a war with Syria in a confrontation expected to include Iran and Hizbullah.

The General Staff has discussed an assessment by the military's Northern Command of an emerging threat from Syria and Hizbullah over the next year. Northern Command said a weakened Syria, under pressure from the United States to withdraw from Lebanon, was likely to approve an Iranian-Hizbullah campaign against Israel.

Military sources said this assessment was the latest by several senior officers who envision a major war with Syria by 2007. The sources said Iran and Syria have used Hizbullah to weaken Israel strategically and erode its morale. The sources said the General Staff has not discussed an Israeli strike on Iran.

Hizbullah has been regarded as the leading supporter of the Palestinian war against Israel, which began in 2000. The Shi'ite insurgency group has also infiltrated the Israeli Arab community and recruited citizens for intelligence and other operations.

does it talk about Syria with the end times in the bible? I know babylon is mentioned, and whre is it that is Iran now that was in the bible?

there is a place in the Bible that talks about Israel being attack from the North, which would be Syria. So yes, I do believe they play a big part in the end times.

Israel is the apple of God's eye. America will always stand by Israel and it is and always will be of the utmost importance that America does exactly that.

I don't know what will happen. I just finished a book on Iraq from someone in the government but for the life of me can't remember his name. He talked about how we play both sides. We give money to Israel and to her enemies at the same time. I would like to think that when push comes to shove, our government will do the right thing, but only God knows.

The United States of America is to stand by Israel no matter what comes and they certainly are aware of that fact. There are those who know that Israel is the apple of God's eye.

I am for America standing for Israel. But whether we will or not is to be seen in the future. I don't believe giving money to the enemies of Israel is standing up for her, but we do this.

I'm totally with you on this! I don't understand what this country is doing? If we don't stand by Israel, I'm afraid God will take any and all blessings away from America [Frown]

America will always stand by Israel. Israel is the apple of God's eye and I believe that America will always be their strongest supporter and ally as they've always been in the past. Israel will always prevail and that's a very well known fact. I have some great jewish books which are true accounts and I've read every one of them. They are quite fascinating. Israel is a very remarkable country.

I would hope this would be the case, but as America turns more and more away from God, the posibility that we side with Israel's (and God's) enemies goes up.

Even Bush is siding less and less with Israel, wanting to give away the land God promised to Israel to satan's children, and he claims to be a Christian.

WParr, no I'm not a prophet but there have been times that God has revealed some truths to me. Israel will prevail no matter what. That's the way it is and will always be. America will have to stand by Israel or there will be severe consequences if they don't. Such consequences I don't think they'd want to face. However I still firmly believe that America will always be Israel's strongest ally and will stand beside her not matter what.

Just for the record I do disagree with Israel having to give up land and I think there has to be a much better way than what is being demanded of them.

All I know is that the scriptures say that ALL nations will come against her/Israel. I have often wondered about that. If all nations come against her then the US is either inhilated in some way or she too goes against Israel.

But, either way, Israel will be protected by Yahweh. And in the end, scriptures say the nations will be judged on how they treated Israel. Lets just pray our nation does not falter in any way concerning Israel and her right to exist. Shalom

I odn't think the USA will ALWAYS support Isreal. And, even if we seem to, if we allow the Isrealis to be stoned at their temle and beaten and killed, are we really truly helping them? It doesn't matter how much money or political alliance we give them, if we allow them to be killed and persecuted, we are still not support them.

I'd like rela facts on what we do to help, and not money but real humanitarian efforts.
