†. Rev 20:11-15 . . I saw a great white throne, and Him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life. And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

According to Rev 20:10, the lake of fire consists of brimstone; defined by Webster's as sulfur; which liquifies at around 239.38° F and boils at around 832.3° F.

Molten sulfur assumes a dark red color at around 392° F which, in all likelihood, enhances the lake's fiery appearance.

Q: What if people's execution in the brimstone isn't quick? I mean: the day of Adam's death began the moment he tasted the forbidden fruit; yet he continued to survive outside the garden of Eden for another 800 years after the birth of his son Seth. (Gen 5:4)

A: No response.

Eternity is out side of TIME!

The created Universe are witnesses to God's dealings with the fallen planet. The book of Revelation describes the multitudes extolling God's justice. God has been vindicated.

I trust that means the punishment will fit the crime. How that is determined is God's prerogative. I have confidence that when the saved finally see Lucifer as ashes on the ground they will know that sin will not raise it's ugly head again.

I think 'time' is the construct of sin. This is what I mean; We look at time linearly having a beginning and an end. This doesn't exist in God's reality as I understand it. Eternity is not linear, it revolves around the centrality of its Creator.

If our reality, our daily comings and goings starts and ends with God at its core, we have in a certain sense entered Eternity. It is nevertheless by faith while our bodies here are subject to diminishment. When Jesus returns the scripture tells us, those who have fixed their hope in God will be changed from mortal to immortal. We will share that which is currently only God's.

The weight of this is too much for me to get my head around. The implications take my breath away.

Kornelius,

I believe you are right about the time. It is impossible for us to grasp the thought of eternal time. We only know the time we are born and when we die.
Betty
