1 Thessalonians 1:1 King James Version (KJV)
1 Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Thessalonians 1:1
Thomson 1 Paul, and Silvanus, and Timothy, to the congregation of the Thessalonians in God the father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Favour be to you, and peace, from God our father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

These are my thoughts.
We are to be united to God thru Christ by His grace and this is how we gain true peace.

KJV 2 We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;
Thomson 2 We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers,

These are my thoughts.
We are to be thankful for each other and keep each other in prayer.

KJV 3 Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;
Thomson 3 remembering incessantly the work of your belief, and the labour of your love, and the perseverance of your hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of our God and Father;

These are my thoughts.
This is something we all as Christians should strive to do.

Thomson 4 knowing, brethren beloved of God, the choice made of you

We are to by God because of His love for us.

1 Thessalonians 1:5
KJV 5 For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.
Thomson 5 that our glad tidings did not come to you in word only, but with power, and with a holy spirit, and with much assurance. As you knew what manner of persons we were among you

These are my thoughts.
Sharing the gospel is more then telling people about God’s love it is showing them His love thru our actions.

1 Thessalonians 1:6
KJV 6 And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost.
Thomson 6 for your sakes, you indeed became imitators of us, and of the Lord, having embraced the word in much affliction, with the joy of a holy spirit;

These are my thoughts.
Sometimes welcoming Jesus into our life will cause strive with other people, He will give us the power and give us joy thru suffering as we grow to look more like Him.
