Okay, I just believed in Christ. Now I will be with Him throughout all eternity, but... now what?
It is hard to get an answer to this question now days, but I suggest the following:
1) The moment u believe in Christ you become a new spiritual species. The Word of God says, Gods' ways are not our ways. But It also says I will send you a Comforter to teach you. God the Holy Spirit reveals Truth through a called and prepared pastor. Man shall live not only by daily bread, but spiritual Bread. Daily!
2) We are alive in Christ where we were dead before. This rebirth was accomplished through the Spirit by our faith. Faith is not works. God saves! We not only receive the Spirit but also a human spirit to store spiritual phenomena. But we can again fall back into sin because of our sin nature. Through grace, God has given us a way to again be controlled by the Spirit. 1 John 1:9 is a promise necessary to not only learn the Word, but also apply the word in our lives. So again, it is God doing the work. This is the only way to fulfill the mandate of being an imitator of Christ.
3) For brevity I stop here. After salvation you are to grow in grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is done through Gods' grace and not your works. The model is salvation. You make one decision for your salvation, but in the devils' world we make thousands each day to be continually under the control of the Spirit, which is necessary to receive the Word of Truth: DAILY!
4) If you fall off the horse, 1 John 1:9. Name your faults to God only, and because Christ has paid their penalty, God the Holy Spirit will again gain control of your life.

Hi Wren A, God bless you so very much! Welcome to the family, and welcome to the Christian BBS.

Learning about life in Christ and studying His Word are certainly the best, not only when first beginning your walk with Him, but all your life.

For me, the Holy Spirit has made gentle changes within me. Sometimes I wish He would just take over and control me because I'm confused, or frightened, or exhausted, but He doesn't. He encourages and comforts and guides. Looking back, though, I can see that he has changed me a great deal little by little.

Above all, know that you are loved with a love beyond human comprehension. A complete and forever love.

Coming to Christ by faith is the start not the end it is the start of Him leading us to do what He wants us to do, we follow Him and grow closer and closer to Him.
