This was today's verse on a site for "verse of the day" this is something we are to do, yet it is so difficult. I have struggles with this daily.

Today's Verse
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

— Ephesians 4:32 (NIV)
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
Be kind and compassionate -- two qualities that seem to be in short supply. Maybe it's because we hold up the wrong heroes. Unfortunately these two qualities are often seen as signs of weakness rather than strength. To forgive as God forgave us requires great courage and great strength. So let's be strong!
My Prayer...
Holy God, there is no way I can adequately thank you for sacrificing so much to forgive me. So this day, I pledge to be more like you: to share more of your kindness and grace with those who have wronged me. Today, I ask you to help me release my bitterness toward _____________ and I ask you to bless this person with your kindness and grace. By the power of Jesus' example I ask this. Amen.

That's a beautiful prayer byfaith.

But you know, sometimes love is not the sugar and spice kind...

But we must also remember Gal.2

[4] And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:
[5] To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.

I agree, it isn't always sugar and spice but also it doesn't cause strife:

Proverbs 10:12 Hatred stirs up strife, But love covers all transgressions.

Proverbs 17:9 He who conceals a transgression seeks love, But he who repeats a matter separates intimate friends.

Acts 7:9 "The patriarchs became jealous of Joseph and sold him into Egypt.

Yet God was with him,1 Corinthians 4:6 Now these things, brethren, I have figuratively applied to myself and Apollos for your sakes, so that in us you may learn not to exceed what is written, so that no one of you will become arrogant in behalf of one against the other.

1 Thessalonians 5:14 We urge you, brethren, admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with everyone.

1 Peter 4:8 Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins. (NASB ©1995)

Sorry that you feel that way wildb, really I am.

I was not trying to push secularism at all.

So if I disagree with something in one thread, I am to go to every thread where the person I disagree with post, and repeat over and over that I disagree with them?
