Open question.

To morally hate (anti-phileo = not to cherish) is not the same as to willfully hate(anti-agape = not to be emotionally attached)

phileo, the love of impulse. Of the heart.
agapao/agape, the love of esteem. Of the mind.
For the purpose here, I use the verb/noun of agapao/agape without distinction of thier grammical usage.

One cannot understand hate unless they understand what sort of love it is compared to.

I love God for who He Is. Not because of how I feel (phileo), but because I esteem (agape) God for who He is. Because I do willfully give value (agape) to Him in my life, I also emotionally love (phileo) Him. As God is love (agape), His desire is for us to willingfully love (agape) Him back.

Knowing that I am not to give value (agape) to the world and what it has to offer, I am to hate (anti-agape) it. But we are to esteem (agape) our neighbor as we do ourselves.

As it says, "Anyone who does not love (phileo) the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be accursed upon His coming (Anathema Maranatha)", also says, "You who love (H157, affection) the LORD, hate evil...". So it is, I have affection (emotional love) for the Lord and I emotionally hate (anti-phileo) evil.
