Or perhaps it was not a matter of "like" but of "perceiving something else" in them that attracted Him:

Acts 10:34
Then Peter said, "Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons.

But, in Jesus's capacity as the Son of man, or second Adam, did Jesus like some disciples more than other, and if so, what do you think of that?

And, if not "like", what else would you put in place of "like"?

Matthew 26:37
And He took with Him Peter and {James and John) the 2 sons of Zebedee, and He began to be sorrowful and very heavy.
